> 3 dayWe have quite a few Wyze cams and when we recently needed a smart plug, we opted for these. They work well and have a nice scheduling feature. We run lamps and use them to remote restart network connection equipment at an offsite facility. The biggest problem is they are near impossible to update consistently. Weve had this issue with other Wyze devices too. If they are at one location with Spectrum internet NONE will ever update. No matter what you do. Bring them to the main location, reset them, attach to AT&T Fiber here, and they update. Take them to a different location with Spectrum and they also work. Take them to another and nope. So, weve had to constantly take all devices needing updates to specific locations to update. PAINFUL.

> 3 dayThese might be a little more expensive than some Chinese no-name brand outlets but I trust these to be very well made. I own quite a few Wyze products and they are all well made and a great value! I realize that having lights turn on and off with your voice is truly a non-essential, but we love them because our young kids can easily turn on and off the light now. Plus its easy to turn off all the lights downstairs now when we go to bed. Once you get used to using them youll be hooked! One last thing, I love the Vacation mode that turns the lights on and off randomly when were gone. SO much easier than having to use the old manual timer switches!

> 3 dayI have a number of wyze products already so, for me, it was super easy to connect these plugs to my wifi and get them working. At most, 1 minute per plug. The key, of course, is the program while they are closer to the router and then move them to their final destination. And, unlike many other plugs that are 10-amp, these wyze plugs are 15-amp plugs which gives me a little more versatility as to what i can plug into the outlet. These plugs are smaller than some other wifi-plugs but still not small enough where i can stack one above the other on the same wall outlet. The integration with alexa has worked seamlessly, and i can easily turn these wifi plugs off and on just using verbal commands. All-in-all, very nice wifi plugs that I will get quite a bit of use out of.

> 3 dayUPDATE: Connectivity has improved since I switched my 2.4ghz channel to one with less users on it. Doesnt disconnect as much but reconnecting is still an issue. Changed from using Rules to Schedules on each plug. That along with not having them switch on and off at the same time has improved the connectivity in addition to the 2.4ghz channel switch. Now another interesting problem. I have a ghost rule on one of my plugs. I had deleted all the rules, checked all plugs and phones that were connected and still have an old rule on one plug that turns it on. Have tried everything to delete it but to no avail. Ended up putting in a new rule to turn it off immediately. Noticed this is a problem on web forums with Wyze but have not seen any solution. ORIGINAL REVIEW: Purchased 3 of these four months ago. Couldnt get one of them to pair so I contacted Wyze and they replaced it immediately, kudos to customer service. Having said that, I have the three outlets installed within 10 feet of my router, one with adjustable antennas. Two of them obstructed by a piece of furniture, so obstructed line of sight from the router to the plug. Originally, I had no problems with them but in the last two months both drop my WiFi signal at least once per week. I switched one out with another new one, but the same thing keeps happening. Unfortunately, the only way to reboot them is to unplug and plug back in. All of them have the firmware updated but only the one right by my router has consistently stayed connected. As a point of reference, I have a smart TV, Roku stick and Firestick in three other rooms with walls between them and my router and they never drop my WiFi signal. So its either go back to my tried and true mechanical timer, and switch lights off and on, or find another brand thats more reliable.

> 3 dayThese are great. They allowed me to turn my remote control lamps into smart lamps I can turn on and off with my voice or the wyze app. And it works from wherever I am, even if Im not at home. Also they are easily portable and reusable for other devices! Straight forward and easy setup!

19-11-2024The Wyze software sucks. Every time I set up a new plug the firmware needs to be updated before it can be used and I would have to do the update process many times before it stops failing to update. The whole process was very frustrating. I integrate it with google home and the integration process sucks too. Logging into wyze through the google home app, it would not recognize my password and I have to reset it. Once synced, it usually works fine but once in a long while, it will become not accessible through google home and need to be resynced with Wyze account again and usually it wont recognize my Wyze password again and I have to reset it. I only use a few smart plugs and lights. I wonder if it is really worth the trouble to set up a real smart home considering the hassle I went though with just these.

> 3 dayIve been using Wyze home automation products for a couple of years now. I wanted to keep all the devices within the same product brand and Wyze is reasonably good quality with reasonable prices. A couple of weeks ago, one of my Wyze plugs failed, so I ordered 4 new ones and of the 4 only 1 was able to successfully update the firmware. When the firmware update fails, the plug doesnt work. Ive tried every plug at least 10 times, tried reconfiguring my network, contacted support. Nothing worked. Theyre obviously just defective. Apparently Wyze has some defective product on the market right now and until they fix it, I strongly recommend against purchasing Wyze. In addition, Wyze needs a few products added to their product line. In particular, they need a double wall light switch and wall light switches that dont require a neutral wire. It would also be nice if they would make a bulb camera.

> 3 dayI could not update firmware and once the device was listed on the Wyze app it didnt work. Even after adding to the google home app it didnt do anything. The device did show in the wyze app (without an ip address) and did show on google home but neither app would control anything. I did find the issue and it was my wifi security setup. Solution: Thought Id let you know that if you use access control on your router like I do that you have to add the device to the network first then restart the device before trying to pair. Problem: I allowed the device (2 of them) on my network when I got to the network signin step on the Wyze app add a device and it never added the ip address to the wyze app (so no firmware update) though the device did show on my network. Hopefully this will help anyone else who uses access control on their wifi router.

Greater than one weekInitially the plug was connected to my dual band 2.4 and 5 ghz mesh wifi. The mesh I thought was to manage any devices that connected at 2.4 ghz. Randomly, any of my Wyze devices would lose connection. Once I configured a guest network 2.4 ghz only and connected the cams and plugs to connect to the 2.4ghz network all is stable.
