Works. Really well at that. Was initially looking at installing fans in the sides of the cabinet but ended up not needing them when this was in-place. Simply moving the air around was enough to cool the cabinet by several degrees.

I just purchased the Denon AVRX4700H and am using it in a 5.4.2 configuration. I have it sitting in an enclosed cabinet. I even installed fans on the back panel of the cabinet to help circulation of air. Even with this, the Denon runs alarmingly hot. With modern day AVRs, the manufacturers are no longer installing switched a/c outlets on the back to alow for fans or other peripherals to turn on when you power up your system. I purchased the S8 which has a thermal switch that engages the fans. This psrticular model exhausts the air to the back of cabinet. I set it in auto and selected the middle fan speed. 5 minutes into Mulan, the unit kicked on and was dead silent with cabinet doors shut. Its amazing how cool this kept the Denon playing at near reference level. With the doors open, I could not hear the fans running from 11 feet with the middle speed selected. With doors closed, the high setting was still very hard to hear. A cool feature is the smart mode which turns fans on when heat is sensed and varies fan speed depending on temperature variations. The build quality is fantastic, and the larger, 3 fan version fits the standard size AVR perfectly. Other reviewers took the feet off and installed rubber weather stripping along base to increase efficiency....I dont think this is required and can potentially damage temp sensor. Exceeded all expectations! Highly recommended!

My amp is in an enclosed cabinet and this unit does a awesome job of keeping it cool. Looks good and match’s my other stereo equipment perfectly.

My Krell amp, CD player and Audio Research tube preamp were stacked on top of each other creating a lot of heat. I was considering some boxer fans when another audiophile friend suggested this... works perfectly.

Fits nicely on top of the Kenwood AV amp and keeps at cool at 1/2 speed. Enabled removal of old Heath-Robinson amateur set up. Very please. Had to order from USA as not available in UK (shame) but no complaints about the only 3 day delivery time

Bought this for my A/V receiver. I have a glass enclosed component cabinet that was always too hot and I was tired of leaving the doors open all the time. This unit sits right on top of the receiver, over the vents, and can be set to be on all the time or go on at two preset temp limits. The unit looks nice - anodized black and fits well with my other home theater components. Its quiet and the airflow is really good with all three fans going. A little pricey for essentially 3 muffin fans but it does the job well

Love the shallow design and how efficient these are, I ordered a total of 3 to keep my amps and preamp cool.. love them they are very well made and just nice to look at... yes the led can be bright but I ordered the LightDims original strength precut stickers and they work perfectly.

This is a fabulous product that is a must have for home theater products. I have purchase two of these cooling units for my AVRs and they make a difference in cooling down the units. They will extend the life of the product and helps out performance. Home theater products get really hot so the cooling units are an essential part of the set up. I have recommended these products to all of Best Buy Magnolia personnel I shop with to let their customers know about these great products. So glad I was able to find such a great product.

Dont have a whole lot of space between my amps and pre-amps. Rack is alittle cramped. Placed it on top of the amp and it pulls cool air in front and blows hot out the back...keeping both cool to the touch. Did i mention that its thin...oh yah baby and its quite too

I just spent a small fortune on my first home theater. At the end of our first family movie night in the theater the receiver was so hot I could not even touch it. So I did some research and decided to purchase the Aircom S8 to cool the system.
