Greater than one weekThe Aircom brand is very popular with the home theater crowd and audiophiles alike! And with good reason. Their products work as advertised. I got the S8 and my buddy has the T8. We both have high-end amps that generate a lot of heat. I have my S8 set to smart mode and it works flawlessly! It comes on the lowest speed when the temp reaches a certain point and then shuts off when the temp drops. If youre really cranking up the music, it will continue to increase fan speed until it wins! Protect your expensive gear. Buy AC Infinty / Aircom.

> 3 dayWe have a TV stand that we keep the AVR in with about 5-6 inches of clearance above it. I had removed the backing on the stand to allow for better ventilation, but was still concerned about the temperature especially since it has a glass panel on the stand in front of the AVR.

Greater than one weekI’ve had the unit for a few weeks. Watched two Netflix streaming movies and one Blu-ray disc at a volume of about -16 dB. At that volume the movies are rockin pretty hard. Unit is set on auto with a fan speed of 2 and sits on top of a Yamaha RXV685 in a 5.1.2 setup. After about 20 minutes the unit turns on and stays on throughout the movies. It is non-audible when running, exhausting out back. After movie end, about 2 hours, the heat of the receiver is barely noticeable and the S8 tuns off in about 10 minutes after turning off the receiver. Previous to the ARCOM S8, the receiver pumped out pretty noticeable heat while playing a blue ray disc. Got to say, I think the unit does its job. And I’m happy with the purchase.

The fan is quiet and the Smart fan feature is the right solution to balance noise vs. heat. The bonus feature is the ability to turn off the very bright fan speed light. Yes!

Greater than one weekI have an entertainment center unit with glass doors that I prefer to keep closed, but my 100 watt / channel receiver puts out too much heat without ventilation. I bought this AC Infinity S8 and that did the trick very nicely. I particularly like the smart mode that adjust the fan speed as needed, and it’s a perfect companion to my upstairs entertainment receiver.
