I bought and used it now because it is only option for non drill required air conditioner supporter. It is very sturdy but when I received it its ends were alreday chipped off of paint. It is fine because it would be installed outside and no one look at it. However it has three major defects: First of all. when you assemble, it uses bolt and nut but its size is not really fit so witout tool you cant do it. Second, the hand is too short so even it is supporter but not really wors. It is supposed to tilt around a couple of degree so the water comes out in the end of air conditioner but the handle is too short so it tiles almost like 15 degree. I felt the air conditioner sliped down from the supporter so I bought extra panel to found its hands. The last is it basically did not care about install under air conditioner. So, when you install the air conditioner there is huge gap between the air conditioner and supporter. I also needs to buy extra foam to block this gap.

I recommend the double support bracket design over the single one as this will hold the AC unit securely. There were a few quirks about the installation. The bubble level indicator doesnt snap in place, it will just fall out. You would need to glue it in or something if you needed it. The instructions show you want to screw the cross brace with the long hex bolt behind the short phillips bolt. When you do this, the support leg binds with the phillips bolt when it collapses. I flipped the positioning of the long hex bolt and short phillips bolt, you get a support leg that can swing freely while still having the cross bar attached at two points. I use this bracket to support a window unit in my roof top tent, and it works perfectly.

The directions have you assemble things in a weird order that makes assembly very difficult. Also the side bars have to stick out a minimum of four notches cause they hit they each other and can’t go any closer. Also the metal is slippery and the ac unit moves easily, maybe if it was textured it would be a little more stable.

I loved the product very much except the video does not match the paper diagram.

After struggling with the limited instructions to assemble, the stand was plenty strong for my A/C. Id be quicker to recommend this if they included step by step instructions and better small parts I.D. I had to use two 2×4s nailed together to shim the stand but I felt confident when my friend and I lifted the rather heavy (81 lbs.) unit onto it.

Looks sturdy enough for my air conditioner.

The connections once completed are solid but the side to side and depth adjustment procedure are unnecessarily burdensome and when you’re done the end of the interior braces have a vertical piece that is in the way of the air conditioner’s side panels

At the end of the day, this have proven to be the solid support that I sought. The description on Amazon is at best confusing if not inaccurate. I bought the “medium duty” dual-armed bracket for a 12,000 BTU LG air conditioner. The box says it is “light duty” and, in one place, says: “supports up to 80 lbs., typical range 5,000-10,000 BTU,” but the label on the box says: “to 12,000 BTU.” It is very sturdy and easily supported by 85-pound unit (installed correctly). The installation instructions are incomplete and poor, but since I have previously installed two single-arm support brackets from another manufacturer (with better instructions), I had little problem. The biggest error/omission in the instructions is the failure to adequately address the need to level the horizontal arm by adjusting the point on the horizontal arm where one attaches the angled bracket (that presses against the exterior wall). (The instructions seem to presume that the attachment point is at the far end of the horizontal arm, in conjunction with bolting on the bracket that connects the two horizontal arms, but this is WRONG for any but the very thickest house wall. This explains why some comments talk about “hanging” angled arms—they were simply installed incorrectly, probably because of the inadequate instructions.) For most wall thicknesses, the angled bracket must be attached several holes before the end, and this point of attachment may have to be adjusted several times as one trial-fits the air conditioner so that the horizontal arm leans slightly down so that condensate flows out rather that in. This problem is compounded by that fact that an insufficient bolts are provided for the connecting bracket if one attaches the angled arm at some other point on the horizontal arm. The screws supplied stand up perfectly well if one uses a correctly sized Phillips head screw driver.

First off I reviewed the 1 star comments and I agree the instructions stink but that does not merit a one star rating. If we made it thru high school we were given the tools to figure some stuff out on our own. There are about 10 metal parts and plenty of pics showing different views on the Amazon web page. There are only two different nuts so you have a 50-50 chance of getting it wrong. As for the pic of the swinging bracket you have the feet on the wrong end. I mounted this in the window of a fifth wheel camper and worked great and should work in just about any window application. Although a bit pricey it is made of a good gauge of steel and feels quite strong. The first order was missing the feet & pads but they took care of the problem right away. I give it 4 Stars.
