> 3 dayThis bracket is good. Easy to assemble and install. But, it left a large gap under the air conditioner that had to be filled with a 2 x 3 and 2 1/4 x 2 1/4 air conditioner foam.

> 3 dayWe don’t assemble stuff very often so this took us a while. We used the written directions along with the online video. You need both. The first step where you attach the brackets is misleading because you should anticipate that they will need to be unscrewed and repositioned to get the angle right. That takes time and tinkering to figure out where they should go. But once you get it right this is a nice piece of engineering. Tension holds it in place and creates a sturdy shelf for the air conditioner. But also be prepared for a big gap at the bottom. It needed to be stuffed with 2x1 inch foam (the black part in the picture). We also used side panels to help cover the sides and to stuff any smaller gaps. Once it is put together we won’t have to do it again and installing the air conditioner in the future will be a breeze (pun intended).

> 3 dayI like the final result is strong and you not need a drill. Putting the pieces together takes time I recommend to look at the video, thats help a lot.

> 3 dayNo assembly instructions. Because there are no instructions in the box or online (the link for instructions on the Amazon.com is missing) Ive been guessing on how to assemble it. But I have extra parts leftover I am not sure what purposes those parts are for. Per the photos, it would appear that I am missing at least 2 longer bolts, 2 washers, and 2 nuts. It seems to be a solid metal bracket so it got a star for the heavier gauge bracket parts. Amazon forces you to post a minimum of 1 star. I have someone coming over to help me try to install it and the 6k btu air conditioner. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we can at least macgyver it. UPDATE: I bought a second one and it came with instructions. It took two of us 3 hours to install The first air conditioner (6000 btu) into a jalousie window. The second one went in after about 2 hours with 5000 btu unit. To use this bracket in jalousie windows is not for temporary installation I.e. A renter. But overall, it is a good racket once you know how to assemble it so I will raise the rating to 3 stars. But without instructions, this can be very frustrating to use.

> 3 dayThe connections once completed are solid but the side to side and depth adjustment procedure are unnecessarily burdensome and when you’re done the end of the interior braces have a vertical piece that is in the way of the air conditioner’s side panels

> 3 dayThis bracket is supposed to be easy to assemble and install- it’s one of the most difficult pieces I’ve ever had to put together. The metal is so soft it strips so when you’re adjusting the prices to fit your window it gets harder to adjust each time. The legs with rubber stoppers that are supposed to support the outside of the bracket swing free and there’s zero tension for them to stay at an angle against the wall for support. I thought about using construction glue to keep it in place and rig it so it was safe but at this point I’ll just save my money and return the item because there’s no sense dumping more money into something that was supposed to work alone. Another thing that is annoying is that the instructions are awful- the hardware isn’t labeled and you have to guess what goes where and when watching the video on youtube for visual aid, they show the brackets being stable at an angle which is a lie- and you can’t comment on the video to ask questions. Fed up and done with this thing- in the middle of a heat wave and miserable.

> 3 dayThis seems pretty sturdy now that it is installed. But, 2 of the screws snapped in half while installing. My husband traded out the screws that came with it for deck screws and at this point, every thing seems good.

> 3 dayThis Alpine A/C support bracket is well designed and well made. It is held together with bolts and screws, which make this adjustable bracket very sturdy. I ordered this bracket, because I had to return an Ivation bracket that was very poorly welded together and used cheap spring pins for adjustments.

> 3 dayDirections to horrendous and there’s only one video online and it’s not much better. The design isn’t very good because it’s not clear how to set it up. I still haven’t figured it out

> 3 daySince the written instructions for the two-arm, heavy duty version (drilling required) of this bracket are almost impossible to follow, a good installation video is needed, but there are a lot of problems in Alpines installation video. Mainly, the sections showing how to install the connector bar are pretty screwed up - it shows the long hex bar being inserted at different locations. Also, in the section for the final installation (at 2:52 of the video), the connector bar magically disappears altogether. More detailed comments, with many of the flaws in the video, can be found at the YouTube version of this video (the two arm, heavy duty, drilling required version). Alpine did a really sloppy job with this video.
