Greater than one weekThe connections once completed are solid but the side to side and depth adjustment procedure are unnecessarily burdensome and when you’re done the end of the interior braces have a vertical piece that is in the way of the air conditioner’s side panels

> 3 dayDo yourself a favor, go to YouTube and watch the instruction tutorial for this. The instructions are a nightmare to understand, and there are random pieces included (anchors that are different sizes and wouldn’t fit into the holes you are suppose to drill with a VERY specific drill bit). I was trying to start the install of this based on the directions alone and I was VERY close to hiring someone. Then I watched the video tutorial that was about 2 minutes long and it took me about 10 minutes to get in (probably would have gone faster, but I have a VERY curious 3-year-old). Otherwise, it does what it is suppose to, ad helps to support our 6500Btu 58lb air conditioner.

> 3 dayOnce assembled the bracket is very sturdy, so it does the job its designed to do. However, my experience was pretty frustrating, and I reflected this in my rating. Im a pretty handy person with an architecture and engineering background, and a lifetime of DIY projects, so I dont usually gripe about this sort of stuff unless its really warranted. For the price I paid for this item, my experience should have been a lot better. 1.) Item arrived missing about half the fasteners required for assembly. The fastener pouches were factory sealed, so this wasnt an open box/returned item. I would have returned it because of this, but its over 100 degrees where I live and I needed to install my AC ASAP for the health of my family. So I wasted some cash and a couple hours of my time going out and buying the necessary fasteners to complete assembly. 2.) The manufacturing on this product does not live up to the tight tolerances it was designed with. The metal piece (item 8 in the parts list) that is bolted between the main support arms (items 6 in the parts list) did not fit because when bolted to the main adaptor bracket (item 1 on the parts list), the space between the arms was too tight. It required about half an hour of wedging and jamming to get it to line up to the correct holes. Im a grown man and I struggled with this. A weaker person would have struggled much more. 3.) Its almost impossible to bolt the adjustable arms (item 2 on the parts list) to the main adaptor bracket because the space inside the bracket is extremely tight. These are crucial to the function of the bracket, so leaving them loose is not an option. For something as expensive as this, the design should either make the interior side of this hole more accessible , or the choice of fasteners should have been more appropriate for use in tight spaces.

> 3 dayI purchased three of these brackets for use with window ACs ranging from 5000 to 12000 BTU. The bracket does take some time to assemble, then partially disassemble and reassemble once you discover that the legs arent attached to the frame exactly where they need to be to prevent the bracket from sloping toward or too far away from the house. I also noticed that each bracket, even with all bolts securely tightened, seems to lean slightly to one side. causing the AC on it to lean slightly to one side or the other. This is resolved easily enough by inserting a shim or two between the bracket and the bottom of the ACF on whichever side of the bracket is slumping. Note also that there is a gap of a couple of inches between the bottom of the bracket and the window frame that youll have to fill in or seal with something if you dont want horrific energy loss plus bugs, rodents, small birds, etc. joining you on the inside of the house. I think thats just how this style bracket works, though; as the windows in my house are installed flush with the exterior wall, and theres no exterior sill to which I can attach anything, Im moving forward with this item.

> 3 dayI was excited to get this because I thought it would work great for my purposes and save me a lot of the usual hassles with installing a new ac unit. I was sadly and totally wrong. It’s a one size fits most with a lot of assembly. Get out your toolkit, a couple people to help, and set aside a good bit of time. The instructions are unclear with not the greatest drawings. You will need someone to hold the multiple parts together while you screw and bolt them together. Some spots are so tight you need small hands and an offset screwdriver to fit in there. Some attachments you are trying to hold a nut with your fingertip as you try to get the bolt started in them. A lock washer with a standard nut would be better there than a lock nut. It’s not particularly stable even after it’s all bolted together and doesn’t hold the an ac unit that weighs less than their maximum. It doesn’t grip the window ledge and the whole thing wants to fall out of the window. Luckily we have a deck so the outside of the ac and this support frame are sitting on a stack of boards on a bench to keep it in place. Not a well thought out or constructed piece of equipment and a waste of time and money.

> 3 dayThis Alpine A/C support bracket is well designed and well made. It is held together with bolts and screws, which make this adjustable bracket very sturdy. I ordered this bracket, because I had to return an Ivation bracket that was very poorly welded together and used cheap spring pins for adjustments.

> 3 dayTheres a discrepancy on the build instructions that states using a 7/16 wrench or socket this is absolutely wrong on so many levels, its metric not standard bolts as the kit I received had 10mm nuts and bolts. It was easy to assemble straight forward but at least include the proper hardware with this universal kit please, or update the instructions because it seems like corners were cut on material cost(s). Once my new ac unit arrives Ill update my review with some video and pictures of what Im commenting on. Get this you wont be disappointed its of great quality looks very nice and powder coated steel. My speculation this will last longer than the ac its going to support!

> 3 dayDislike directions. Definitely sturdy. But now my unit leaks a lot down side of my wooden house all day long.

> 3 dayThis bracket is supposed to be easy to assemble and install- it’s one of the most difficult pieces I’ve ever had to put together. The metal is so soft it strips so when you’re adjusting the prices to fit your window it gets harder to adjust each time. The legs with rubber stoppers that are supposed to support the outside of the bracket swing free and there’s zero tension for them to stay at an angle against the wall for support. I thought about using construction glue to keep it in place and rig it so it was safe but at this point I’ll just save my money and return the item because there’s no sense dumping more money into something that was supposed to work alone. Another thing that is annoying is that the instructions are awful- the hardware isn’t labeled and you have to guess what goes where and when watching the video on youtube for visual aid, they show the brackets being stable at an angle which is a lie- and you can’t comment on the video to ask questions. Fed up and done with this thing- in the middle of a heat wave and miserable.
