> 3 dayThis bracket was purchased to hold a 80lb Kenmore A/C unit. We came into two issues. Our first issue was that the surface of the mount is slick metal. When the A/C unit asks with installation to have a slight outward tilt so that condinsation call fall outside the window. We noticed the unit was also built metal so it wanted to slide. There is no backing plate to hold in place and no items such as rubber spacers to help A/C from sliding around. So we took a board and cut it to the size of the A/C unit and screwed it to the bracket to give it less a change to slide. The next issue was the mounting screws. We followed the directions and pre-drilled the holes to mount to the window. Once installing the screws with a half dead almost powerless drill the bolts snapped. Right where the threads start. We decided to try another screw and once again it snapped. We then went to the hardware store and purchased the same size standard screws for 35cents each. We then installed bracket with no problems. Putting the provided screw next to a standard screwed we purchased you can right away notice the quality difference of the metal being used. The strength of the bracket itself seems strong. Once everything was installed I put some good amount of my weight on it and it held strong. For the price and quality I would have to say you should try another product or plan to grab some quality 35cent screws and figure a way to keep unit from sliding.

> 3 dayThis review covers the drill-less version of the bracket. Make sure this will work with your air conditioner. The bracket arms that extend out are between 13” and 16” apart so edge to edge the feet on the window side of your air conditioner need to be in this range. I first tried this with a 6000 BTU Amana air conditioner but the “feet” on the front of the unit were two narrow so the front towards the window was not supported properly. Then I used it on a Frigidaire air conditioner. The feet on the Frigidaire air conditioners are 2.5 time the width of most other window air conditioners so it rested on the bracket perfectly. The feet on the Amanda were about 1/2 an inch wide. The feet in the Frigidaire were about 2 3/4 inches wide.

> 3 dayNo assembly instructions. Because there are no instructions in the box or online (the link for instructions on the Amazon.com is missing) Ive been guessing on how to assemble it. But I have extra parts leftover I am not sure what purposes those parts are for. Per the photos, it would appear that I am missing at least 2 longer bolts, 2 washers, and 2 nuts. It seems to be a solid metal bracket so it got a star for the heavier gauge bracket parts. Amazon forces you to post a minimum of 1 star. I have someone coming over to help me try to install it and the 6k btu air conditioner. I am keeping my fingers crossed that we can at least macgyver it. UPDATE: I bought a second one and it came with instructions. It took two of us 3 hours to install The first air conditioner (6000 btu) into a jalousie window. The second one went in after about 2 hours with 5000 btu unit. To use this bracket in jalousie windows is not for temporary installation I.e. A renter. But overall, it is a good racket once you know how to assemble it so I will raise the rating to 3 stars. But without instructions, this can be very frustrating to use.

> 3 dayThe product was fine, but the instructions were terrible with unclear directions on which type of nuts/washers to use. Technically there was enough parts but I had to mix and match. I also had to supplement a one of my own washer because it was missing one. Printed instructions was poorly organized and confusing. The product technically all fits together as shown, but was too large and stuck out of my window too far and is unsightly. The support legs were difficult to adjust because it was held together with with four bolts, screw and washer so it made the moving these parts when drying fitting not as easy even when leg as a gage. Also, I still had to rig a few bunch of foam and fillers underneath the support brackets just to prevent a draft, so a seamless solution was still not possible for my case. The product technically works but was not a good fit for my situation.

> 3 dayI purchased three of these brackets for use with window ACs ranging from 5000 to 12000 BTU. The bracket does take some time to assemble, then partially disassemble and reassemble once you discover that the legs arent attached to the frame exactly where they need to be to prevent the bracket from sloping toward or too far away from the house. I also noticed that each bracket, even with all bolts securely tightened, seems to lean slightly to one side. causing the AC on it to lean slightly to one side or the other. This is resolved easily enough by inserting a shim or two between the bracket and the bottom of the ACF on whichever side of the bracket is slumping. Note also that there is a gap of a couple of inches between the bottom of the bracket and the window frame that youll have to fill in or seal with something if you dont want horrific energy loss plus bugs, rodents, small birds, etc. joining you on the inside of the house. I think thats just how this style bracket works, though; as the windows in my house are installed flush with the exterior wall, and theres no exterior sill to which I can attach anything, Im moving forward with this item.

> 3 dayI was excited to get this because I thought it would work great for my purposes and save me a lot of the usual hassles with installing a new ac unit. I was sadly and totally wrong. It’s a one size fits most with a lot of assembly. Get out your toolkit, a couple people to help, and set aside a good bit of time. The instructions are unclear with not the greatest drawings. You will need someone to hold the multiple parts together while you screw and bolt them together. Some spots are so tight you need small hands and an offset screwdriver to fit in there. Some attachments you are trying to hold a nut with your fingertip as you try to get the bolt started in them. A lock washer with a standard nut would be better there than a lock nut. It’s not particularly stable even after it’s all bolted together and doesn’t hold the an ac unit that weighs less than their maximum. It doesn’t grip the window ledge and the whole thing wants to fall out of the window. Luckily we have a deck so the outside of the ac and this support frame are sitting on a stack of boards on a bench to keep it in place. Not a well thought out or constructed piece of equipment and a waste of time and money.

> 3 dayEasy to assemble. The pieces were too big to anchor the bracket in place, so I had to go to Home Depot to get some. That wasn’t an issue. Only issue I had after assembly, and trying to install it the the window was that no matter how hard I tightened with my drill set, the bracket wouldn’t hold shape. I had to drill more bits into the racket itself to get it to sit correctly on the concrete on the outside wall. It was the only way I could get it to stay how it needed to be in order for it to hold its shape.

> 3 dayI bought this brace because there is no easy way to drill into my window sills. Assembling the unit is very time consuming and frustrating -- there are a lot of pieces and the only way to find the right position is by trial and error. If you are off one way or the other, you have to partially disassemble the unit and try again. I put in two, and the second one was only slightly easier than the first. In the end, neither of the units are a close fit. They should stop the AC from hitting the ground if the window somehow fails to hold it, but its not exactly clamped on tight.

Greater than one weekTheres a discrepancy on the build instructions that states using a 7/16 wrench or socket this is absolutely wrong on so many levels, its metric not standard bolts as the kit I received had 10mm nuts and bolts. It was easy to assemble straight forward but at least include the proper hardware with this universal kit please, or update the instructions because it seems like corners were cut on material cost(s). Once my new ac unit arrives Ill update my review with some video and pictures of what Im commenting on. Get this you wont be disappointed its of great quality looks very nice and powder coated steel. My speculation this will last longer than the ac its going to support!
