Amazon Kindle US (Type A, United States) Power Adapter [Fits Kindle and Kindle DX]

My charger fell into a black hole somewhere,or was borrowed by some Kindle person in my family - so instead of having a knock down drag out inquisition to assess blame, I just ordered a new set-up. Arrived in three days, and works like a charm. No muss, no fuss, family relationships intact!

Perfect! Excellent replacement power adapter. It works as well as the first one that came with the Kindle and now I have an extra power adapter. It works well with my 2nd generation Kindle. If you need to replace your cord, this is the perfect replacement.

I had to buy a replacement Kindle power adapter because mine was coming apart and wires were showing. I believe the hard cover around the wires should be more flexible. The outer covering is a hard plastic which makes it crack with all the movement of the cord. I wish they would re-design the outer plastic cord and make it more flexible.

While it was not the original kindle charger from Amazon the charger works perfectly with my kindle. I am quite happy with this purchase.

I have two of these. One came with my Kindle and one I ordered as a spare. The white plastic sheathing has turned brittle and is falling off. This makes both cables completely unusable. One is about 30 months old. The other is about 38 months old.

I had misplaced my Kindle charger, so ordered a new one. Of course, as soon as I ordered it, I found the original, but its nice to have a second one, just in case.

I love my Kindle. Nevertheless, I was very diappointed that I had to replace the adapter after such a short time. The adapter cable that came with the Kindle fell appart. Not just at one end but the entire length of the wire covering. I had not used it in any way that would cause this disintergration. The power adaptor was on my desk top, not in the sun, or exposed to chemicals or water. I hope that the replacement (which looks just the same) will last longer than the original. Thankfully, the replacement was easy to purchase, not very expensive, and came very quickly. Again, I love my Kindle and carry it with me everywhere.

We have two Kindles, and we love them! Both of the power cords after 6 months of service began to have a sticky feeling to the plastic coating on the wire portion of the cord, a month or so later the plastic coating started to flake off exposing the bare wire below. This was clearly a safety hazard. I called Amazon and they IMMEDIATELY replace the two cords, at no cost to me! In my view, this is just another example of Amazons great customer service! I never worry about anything I buy from amazon because they make purchasing and returning merchandise so easy.

If you are here its because you have a kindle 2 (like me) or a kindle DX. So I assume you know what a charger for this device looks like and how well it suits its purpose. Also other reviewers went over this topic in great detail. Better designed then original kindle power cords this one performs the two functions with just one cable: you plug it in your computer or plug it on the wall. It works well overseas, since this generation of kindle is international and therefore this power adapter is bivolt. Ive used it abroad more than once. Since it hardly takes up any space at all in my briefcase Ive decided to keep a spare one in there at all times just to make sure I can enjoy my reading even when Im far away from home. Of course you learn from your mistakes, I already forgot this power adapter at home once and it wasnt funny.

Fits my telephone too. I now have two charging cords like this so I can take one with me when travel.
