> 3 dayTheres no good reason why such adapters are proprietary. They should be universal. What a waste of money (mine), energy (for shipping the product), and resources (the material to make precisely this unique thing). I shudder to think about the cost to our planet in terms of waste. Come up with a universal adapter, share the specs openly, let the market compete, and put this kind of thing in my pocket for $1 or less. And let me own one or a small number for all the devices my busy family uses.

> 3 dayUPDATE: After reviewing other reviews, and after purchase, I contacted customer support online and requested a refund due to a defective product. Within 12 hours, I received a response indicating that they have provided a full refund on my purchase and 1 day shipping for my product. I will still receive it tomorrow. Excellent customer service and turnaround time. However, Amazon still needs to address the quality issues with the adapter product. ___________________________________________________________________ Original Review: After a few months of use, the charger became loose when plugged into the Kindle. I originally thought that maybe the Kindle opening for the charger was defective, or became defective over a period of time, causing the charger to not fit. As long as I wriggled the charger and set it very carefully after getting the yellow light, I could get a charge. After a time, using the charger plugged into the wall stopped working completely. I had to get a replacement Kindle, and thought that I would finally be able to charge successfully, based upon my original thought that the Kindle opening was defective. However, after receiving the replacement Kindle, the charging issue got worse. I realized then that the issue was the actual charger itself; not the Kindle. So, here I am, ordering a new charger. Therefore, the issue actually started a few months after the purchase of my Kindle; not a year after my purchase of the Kindle. I would like for Amazon to address this issue. It appears that there are many problems with the charger; not just the fact that the charger becomes loose and capricious in its charging ability. I do not want to have to buy a new charger every three months, because I live in Mexico, and only come to the states every now and again.

> 3 dayThe only way this would charge is if I hold it pushed in - poor electrical connection. This was a replacement for original cord which crumbled. Dont buy used!!

> 3 dayThe USB plug was very hard to insert in the kindle so it could be charged Therefor, I do not disconnect the USB plug, but use my kindle with the USB. Cord dangling.

> 3 dayBefore I took a trip I knew that I would want to charge my Kindle while I was away and did not have a power cable. I order this cable and took it and was so pleased with how well it met my needs.

> 3 dayThis is a little late (got my Kindle a year ago for my birthday), but I just came across this e-mail when checking other orders. I purchased this replacement because I thought I had lost my original (I found it later). I am very glad I purchased a spare. Both work perfectly, I carry one (along with my Kindle, of course) everywhere I go. I have had no trouble with them. They both perform exactly as described in your product information. Its great having one at my reading chair and one in my pocket.
