Amazon Kindle US (Type A, United States) Power Adapter [Fits Kindle and Kindle DX]

The price of this is something you cant beat, and it works as well as the one that comes with your Kendle. I think it may be a bit longer than the one I originally got, but I dont have that one any more to tell (Lost it in a move). Its great, does what it needs, and charges your Kendle in no time.

What a terrible product!! Ive never seen anything like this before. I have two cables. Both I bought at the same time Ive purchased my Kindle, March 22nd 2009. Today, after a month that I didnt use my Kindle, I reached the cable to charge it and its cover was falling apart, all cracked up.. Then I look after my other cable that I have in my backpack and it had the same issue. It seems like a lot of people are having the same problem. Amazon should send a new cable to everyone. I had misplaced my Kindle charger, so ordered a new one. Of course, as soon as I ordered it, I found the original, but its nice to have a second one, just in case.

This product does exactly what is is supposed to without having to break the bank! I can now charge my Kindle 4 quickly when Im on the road in a motel, without having to drag along my laptop, or without having to park out by the motel computer.

After about a year and a half of using my old power adapter, the insulation near the Kindle connector became brittle and flacked off exposing the shielding. I ordered this replacement as I am a heavy user of my Kindle. I see no difference in this and the original so am certainly satisfied.

As a former battery engineer, I can tell you this product has a design flaw. The insulation being used is some type of plastic that becomes brittle and crumbly over time. The PROPER insulation that should have been used is SILICONE. Amazon, you probably farmed this out to some offshore supplier who gave you a very cheap price. Unfortunately you got a lousy product. Do the right thing and offer an exchange for a newly designed cable with high quality silicone insulation. Otherwise I would expect some law firm to start a class-action lawsuit.

Charging cable. After using this cable to recharge my battery no more than four times the connector on the Kindle end came apart. The bottom half of the casing just dropped off. I didnt notice until trying to charge that it was missing and was lost. I had to buy a new one. You promised to refund the purchase price but you have not. I received this Kindle for Christmas last and it is not yet a year old. Id sugest you demand your supplier use a better method of connecting the two sides of the plug housing. You are liable to shock someone with a failed connector. I would appreciate the refund of $26.97. Billing was Aug. 11-12. Ray Routh

The product is OK,but for a client living in Brasil,the cost of freight +the duties make it very expensive.

Very satisfied. Our dog had chewed up our first Kindle charger cord and we ordered a replacement. Ordering was easy, the package came quickly and was just what we ordered. Cant think of anything to improve it, except maybe to lower the price of the charger a bit. Thanks.
