Amazon Kindle US (Type A, United States) Power Adapter [Fits Kindle and Kindle DX]

I have no idea how good/bad the product is because I didnt receive it. I paid for one day shipping and it was sent FED EX. As usual, FED EX made no attempt to deliver, never left anything indicating they even tried to deliver it and thats it. Ive complained about FED EX in the past, but it fell on deaf ears at AMAZON. Ive discontinued my prime membership and only will buy something that can be sent directly to my Kindle. If Amazon ever learns that FED EX is irresponsible and reverts to using UPS (amazing, Ive NEVER had a problem with a UPS delivery!), then Ill be back. As for now, Im through. Im sure you will be as unresponsive to this email as you have been to all the other ones in the past.

I ordered this on August 5 and today (Nov. 23), I looked at it and the white plastic covering the wires is coming off in chunks. Terrible! I had to throw it away not 4 months after I bought it. Cheap! Dont buy this!

The USB plug was very hard to insert in the kindle so it could be charged Therefor, I do not disconnect the USB plug, but use my kindle with the USB. Cord dangling.

This works for the Kindle and I dont know what else. Its fine, does the job, inexpensive enough. Its white so I can easily find it in the nest of black adaptors I own!

The charger that comes with the Kindle Fire is lame at best. Poor quality and construction, no detachable USB cord, and cannot be used as a USB cable to connect/charge with a PC. This cable charger combo is a much better product. I guess theyre trying to save on costs offering the device at $199, and I can understand that. I personally prefer this white combination of the USB cable and detachable charger. Works much better for me.

I was afraid it would not be similar to the product that came with my Kindle, but in fact it was the exact same item of course just not the one I lost. I am very happy with the product.

My husbands original cord had the plastic coating around the wires flake off. Not sure what happened there. He needed a replacement so we went to Amazon to order. Your service was very fast and accurate. Kudos for a job well done!

I love my Kindle and wouldnt use any other reader, however the USB cable with the 110 Volt adapter is below par in material. The coating on the cable is not the same as used on standard USB cables, for some reason they used a coating that is stiffer and in my case has started to crumble and fall off leaving the metal sheath bare at both ends. The cable is still usable but the poor quality of this part is unacceptable. I keep the cable in the neopreme case that I store the Kindle in so the cable is not exposed to sunlight or other hazards that might cause the plastic coating to fail. The replacement part that I bought is also made with the same poor quality sheathing, maybe by the time I have to buy another USB power cable they will switch to the sheathing used on standard USB cables, which I leave out and has lasted over eight years with no hint of failure of the cable coating.

Theres no good reason why such adapters are proprietary. They should be universal. What a waste of money (mine), energy (for shipping the product), and resources (the material to make precisely this unique thing). I shudder to think about the cost to our planet in terms of waste. Come up with a universal adapter, share the specs openly, let the market compete, and put this kind of thing in my pocket for $1 or less. And let me own one or a small number for all the devices my busy family uses.

While it was not the original kindle charger from Amazon the charger works perfectly with my kindle. I am quite happy with this purchase.
