Amazon Kindle US (Type A, United States) Power Adapter [Fits Kindle and Kindle DX]

I have been very happy with my Kindle and the USB cable was working fine for the first 5 months. However, about 3-4 months ago, I found cracks in the plastic coating that covered the braided cable. I taped it up and continued to use it but I was troubled that something as basic as the cable could crack so quickly. Today, the cable is shedding plastic all over and is not only frustrating but makes me wonder about safety issues each time I use it. Ive never had this experience with any other cable so Im quite unhappy. Hopefully the replacement cable is not going to give me the same trouble in a few months time.

I was shipped the wrong item. Not at all whats pictured AND it doesnt have a cord. I have to pay to ship it back? Hows that fair? What a rip off!!

The only way this would charge is if I hold it pushed in - poor electrical connection. This was a replacement for original cord which crumbled. Dont buy used!!

Took a gamble & bought it for my Kindle Fire because it was $10 cheaper than the crappy Fire power adapter. Is also a USB adapter too. It works for Fire too!

Not much to say. Its an adapter!! We have no complaints on any item that we have ordered from Amazon.

I have been a long time user of Amazon ad as usual when I had a problem they stepped up and took care of me in great fashion. I feel they went beyond what I anticipated and made it quick and pain less. Keep up the good work Amazon. JIM FOUTTY

I already had the USB cord that came with my Kindle so basically just wanted the power adapter for an outlet and sadly.. that didnt work so now I have 2 usb cords..lol Figured it wasnt worth the postage sendign it back etc etc. great buy and now i have 2 cords..LOL shrugs

The power cord is nice, however I just bought the Kindle in Dec, and had to replace it 6 months later. For such an expensive item the cord should last longer.

The only problem I have with this is that I didnt need a second cord, just the adapter plug. I think Amazon should sell these separate. Heck, I probably would pay the same price for just that.

I needed an A/C adapter for a Kindle that I bought as a gift. The item was extremely easy to locate on Amazon and the entire transaction was very pleasurable. I made payment, it was shipped. Very fast turnaround which is just what I needed to be able to give it along with the Kindle.
