If you are here its because you have a kindle 2 (like me) or a kindle DX. So I assume you know what a charger for this device looks like and how well it suits its purpose. Also other reviewers went over this topic in great detail. Better designed then original kindle power cords this one performs the two functions with just one cable: you plug it in your computer or plug it on the wall. It works well overseas, since this generation of kindle is international and therefore this power adapter is bivolt. Ive used it abroad more than once. Since it hardly takes up any space at all in my briefcase Ive decided to keep a spare one in there at all times just to make sure I can enjoy my reading even when Im far away from home. Of course you learn from your mistakes, I already forgot this power adapter at home once and it wasnt funny.

I ordered this because my original cord that came with my kindle suddenly didnt work anymore. This was a great deal. It was shipped out very quickly, even before my kindle died completely! And now I dont have any problem charging my kindle. Thanks so much.

Charging cable. After using this cable to recharge my battery no more than four times the connector on the Kindle end came apart. The bottom half of the casing just dropped off. I didnt notice until trying to charge that it was missing and was lost. I had to buy a new one. You promised to refund the purchase price but you have not. I received this Kindle for Christmas last and it is not yet a year old. Id sugest you demand your supplier use a better method of connecting the two sides of the plug housing. You are liable to shock someone with a failed connector. I would appreciate the refund of $26.97. Billing was Aug. 11-12. Ray Routh

When I wrote to Amazon about the damaged power adapter on my Kindle, they wrote back saying that they would send me a free replacement if I requested overnight delivery. I did so. The next day, I received the replacement with a bill for the adapter plus a postage charge that doubled the cost of the adapter! This experience contrasts strongly with my past Amazon experiences, when I received outstanding customer service. It is also a complete mismatch for the Kindle product, which provides such an esthetically pleasing experience that I would not exchange it for any existing internet-enabled, function-rich device of the same size. I sincerely hope that the bill was a simple mistake and not a change in policy.

I was shipped the wrong item. Not at all whats pictured AND it doesnt have a cord. I have to pay to ship it back? Hows that fair? What a rip off!!

This is exactly what I needed and wanted without driving to a store. I had already been to one big box store which didnt carry replacement cords for Kindle. Shipment time was quick. Thanks!

I love my Kindle. Nevertheless, I was very diappointed that I had to replace the adapter after such a short time. The adapter cable that came with the Kindle fell appart. Not just at one end but the entire length of the wire covering. I had not used it in any way that would cause this disintergration. The power adaptor was on my desk top, not in the sun, or exposed to chemicals or water. I hope that the replacement (which looks just the same) will last longer than the original. Thankfully, the replacement was easy to purchase, not very expensive, and came very quickly. Again, I love my Kindle and carry it with me everywhere.

This Kindle Power Adapter works and looks exactly like the original one that we lost while on vacation. This includes the AC to USB adapter and the USB to Kindle cable. The small adapter can also be used to power other USB cable powered devices, like my iTouch, which is nice and reduces the number of chargers we need to haul along with us. Recommended! CFH

I love my Kindle and wouldnt use any other reader, however the USB cable with the 110 Volt adapter is below par in material. The coating on the cable is not the same as used on standard USB cables, for some reason they used a coating that is stiffer and in my case has started to crumble and fall off leaving the metal sheath bare at both ends. The cable is still usable but the poor quality of this part is unacceptable. I keep the cable in the neopreme case that I store the Kindle in so the cable is not exposed to sunlight or other hazards that might cause the plastic coating to fail. The replacement part that I bought is also made with the same poor quality sheathing, maybe by the time I have to buy another USB power cable they will switch to the sheathing used on standard USB cables, which I leave out and has lasted over eight years with no hint of failure of the cable coating.
