> 3 dayIt was just a swap on my Ender-3. Runs quiet and have had no problems but 1. Both fan connectors are wired together. They are controlled by the Cooling Fan setting. If you are running the printer without the Cooling Fan. The fan for the motherboard will not work. It needs to be wired direct. To be on all the time. I could not find another place to hook up. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- I added a CRTouch,BLTouch would be the same. On a 4.2.2 and 4.2.7 board. Need to have PB0 and PB1 pins internal pull-up resistors turned on. In MARLIN you need to got to this file and add a line at the end of the file. pins_CREALITY_V4.h #define BOARD_INIT() SET_INPUT_PULLUP(PB0) SET_INPUT_PULLUP(PB1) If you do not due this. The z axis might fall during the print. Or also slow blinking flashing red while printing.

Greater than one weekSo quite. I always thought the noise came from the stepper moters but the noise comes from the main board. So if you have the 8 bit board switch to this and no more noise. It comes with an old marlin firmware which I got the newest from the creality website. Easy to upgrade once u find the correct download. Very happy with this purchase.

Greater than one weekGot this for the thermal runaway protection. but OMG the thing runs SO quiet. Easy installation, just remove old board and put this in in reverse order. be careful removing the plugs from the old board as they secure it with hot glue.

> 3 dayIt took about 30-45 minutes to install, and there are many youtube videos that show you how. My Ender 3 Pro went from sounding like a jet engine that annoys anyone within 2 rooms to absolutely silent to the point where it is near my bed and I can easily sleep while it prints. I also recommend installing silent noctua A4-20 fans to replace the stock ones, which is what I did, and now the fans and motors are completely silent. Silencing the motors is the more necessary upgrade though and this board does it perfectly. No complaints, I had no issues, if you have an Ender 3 or Ender 3 pro, I cannot recommend this silent motherboard enough and it is something everyone should add to their printer. The noise difference is unbelievable and the printer sounds the same when it is not moving and when it is printing.

> 3 dayI installed this for two reasons. 1) To update my ender 3s firmware and stop getting the fire hazard warning from octoprint 2) so my 3d printer wouldnt embarrass me on work calls with its serenading. The noise reduction is unbelievable, I have to check to make sure it started up or is still going. Install was easy with a yt video and flashing the firmware was too. Pleased with my purchase.

21-11-2024Took 20 minutes to swap out the board. Had firmware for an Ender 3 pro on it, was easy to upgrade to the latest firmware. It’s strange walking into the room with the printer now, I always think it stopped printing. This board also removed the salmon skin defects on the prints (diagonal lines in the benchy test print). Improved the quality and removed the noise… they should come with these boards out of the box.

> 3 dayAfter recompiling Marlin with the correct drivers, the only noise from the printer is the cooling fans. The board is an exact one for one replacement.

> 3 dayUpgrade was not hard. Took about an hour, half of it removing my existing printer mods, OctoPi, camera, etc., labeling some of the cables with a marker and taking plenty of photos along the way, just in case. Id say much easier than the initial printer assembly. I cannot believe how much smoother and quieter the steppers are on the new board. I was going to say whisper quiet, but I can hear a whisper. The only sound now is the fan. Took noise measurements during print before (48db) and after (36db) to back my impressions up. Besides the TMC driver upgrade, the new board comes with Marlin 1.1.8, includes thermal runaway protection and bootloader for easy firmware upgrades. I upgraded firmware on my previous 1.1.4 board (which might affect warranty), but see no reason to mess with the new one for quite a while. I purchased my printer from Comgrow as well and have had a great experience with them. Including customer support interactions during my first 2 weeks of learning - they were always responsive and more than accommodating. Big thumbs up!
