> 3 dayI have used Weller products exclusively since 1973 so making a switch to a Hakko was a big change for me. Any concerns I may have had were unfounded as this is a workhorse of a soldering station. I would buy this again.

Greater than one weekThis is a well made quality tool with a full range digital heat adjustment. Used Tix jewelry solder out of the box. Increasing/decreasing temperature is a breeze and nearly immediate. Toss your Weller in the trash.

> 3 daylooks a little toyish but is an excellent soldering station. I like all of the features very well and especially the fact that the holder is separate from the soldering controls. It cost a little more but well worth it.

> 3 dayJunk product, doesnt even get hot enough to melt unleaded solder in most circumstances. A cheap atten device for less than 30$ works better than this soldering iron. Very much regret the money I spent on this literal junk. A year later im still pissed a 20$ generic works better.

> 3 dayI bought this after reading good reviews across the internet about this thing. I have always been a Weller guy, and Ive been quite happy with my Wellers. Needing a second soldering station, I opted to try something new, maybe Ill like it just as much or better, right? WRONG!!! This thing works about as good as the $15 electric stick you buy at El Cheapo. It will heat EVERYTHING up except the solder! Trying to work on a circuit board??FORGET IT!!!! AINT HAPPENING!!! I put this up on the highest temp setting HOPING it will melt solder on my board. Nope. Im going to melt boards if I continue to use this. WASTE OF MY MONEY!!!! I guess Im a Weller guy for life Kevin Clark-Misfit Garage

15-11-2024I was going back and forth between Hakko, Weller, and a couple of Chinese made ones. The unit arrived quickly, packed well from B+D Enterprises. The first time I used it it worked great, heated in a minute or so. The second time not so much. I called B+D and told them my issue, they offered to ship me a new unit immediately. I wanted to work through the set up just to be sure it wasnt me (in the end it was) they gave me the reset instructions. I worked through those the next day. It was better but not prefect, so I called Hakko. The customer support rep told me the same reset instructions, and that the oxidation on the tip would cause issues the tip needed to be perfectly clean (same on all manufactures units). They also took my number, then next day the Ops manager for north America called me and gave me his cell number, email, and walked me through getting a good temp reading on the tip. The issue was the oxidation and the fact I was measuring temperature with a thermocouple touching the tip and not in a small pool of solder. (search solder tip temperature tester on amazon) Bottom line the unit works great, I have no worries that I will not get support if there is an issue (apparently there is only one repair guy on the east cost as the units dont go down), and I would do business with B+D anytime. I have use this unit to de-solderer heavy components from a board, and re-solder connectors on Iphone cables. Heavy to light this station works great.
