Dr. Who
Greater than one weekI have a 3D Printer Farm. I have 10 Dremel 3D20, 3 Dremel 3D40, 2 Dremel 3D45 and 2 Advanced Matterhacker Pulse XE NylonX 3D Printers. My daughter does 3D modeling with CAD. We only use Dremel Filament when it comes to making quality prints. I have tried almost all the best brands out there. I even go to the Matterhacker Office to talk to them about their filaments since they are the largest and most popular 3D filament store and manufacturer. I use a lot of the Build Series and NylonX filaments. But when it comes to printing anything with brilliant colors, and silky finish, I prefer Dremel. Aside from that, the Dremel printers were designed as a full eco system. The Printers are designed around their filament. I don’t have to worry or waste so much time, frustration, and money trying to tune a 3D printer to work with random filaments. Trust me, you will tear your hair out in frustration when you just can’t get it perfect. But with the Dremel 3D printer, the profile is already in the slicer. Dremel has 2 slicers that come with the printers. The Dremel 3D Slicer is a Dremel branded Cura. I use them sometimes when It is a small thing, but most of the time I prefer Simplify3D. It just has the best supports. I know all about the complaints of some people that their filaments break. All filaments break. I have all brands, they all break. PLA is brittle. You need to know how to prevent it from happening. First, make sure to keep all filaments in a dry box. It is not enough to keep them in the packaging. I have an airtight plastic bin and put rechargeable dehumidifiers. I keep humidity at 20%-30%. Second, use Capricorn tubes to guide the filaments to the Extruder. It should be in the point where the filament has a sharp bend. It reduces pressure on the extruder as well as the filament. They are inexpensive so it is really worth doing. Lastly, if you are leaving the filament inside the printer, you need to put the Desiccant that came with the filament and leave it inside the printer beside the filament. Dremel filament is at the same level as the PRO filament and you can tell when you put the finished print side by side with a print made from Matterhacker PRO series filament. They have special additives that let them print at higher temperatures. That is why they print at 220 degrees. The hotter temperature allows the print colors to be silky smooth and not that cheap shiny plastic look. I highly recommend it for Dremel printers. The default settings in Simplify 3D work for 80% of the things I make. Dremels require little maintenance. Just changing the build tape and adding a little oil every now and then. Using Dremel filament will keep them from breaking down as well. I buy about 50 boxes of Dremel filament a month. I really like them.

> 3 dayVery rich purple with an ever so slight transparency. Im using it on a FlashForge Dreamer and getting fantastic results. I use blue Painters tape and rub the surface with a glue stick to prevent any dislodging of the model. Dont bother heating the bed (if youre on a Dreamer or some other printer). as this Filament is meant for the Dremel (which does not have a heating bed) My extruder is set to 205c, and thats all there is to it. Ive turned out many flawless models with super low issues. Now going for other colors! Hope Dremel releases a glow in the dark filament at some point.

> 3 dayWhen making a larger project, it fell apart every time about half way through. Wouldnt buy again. Also, I ordered the same size as I have had, and the spool did not fit properly.

22-11-2024Ironic that the Dremel filament gave me the worst time with a Dremel printer. It would clog, bunch up, and generally suck at its only job. After 3 failed attempts, I ended up throwing the rest in the trash. Next time Ill save myself the trouble and just throw some money in the trash instead. I switched filament brands and havent had any issues since.

> 3 dayLove the Dremel filaments. they are dependable. I had a few problems with this one at first because it would jam, or harden in the extruder. But once it got going, and I figured out how to work with it, it produced really nice objects. Great for those organization objects. But it did make a pretty nice bird house.

> 3 dayThis PLA is amazing. I have been very happy with the results. The one drawback is the fact its black. The platform cover is also black, so you cant look in and see problems very well. The brighter colors work better for the black background. Aside from that it has far surpassed my expectations.

> 3 dayNot the most cost efficient, but spool fits into our Dremel printer.

> 3 dayWell, its just as good as the roll it came with. I would say its less material than myfirst one but maybe i am just sad that its so much money for so little material compared to other brands. I have purchased other brands and will be trying it out. Updates to come! If you go to thingiverse and look up the user TRYtoHELPyou you can find my camera slider (pictured) I used A LOT of this black material when making it. I hope this review helps, good luck!
