Not horrible filament, but I noticed if I left it alone for a few days Id come back to find the filament had snapped off somewhere on the way to the extruder of my 3D printer. It became a pain when it happened 3 times in one week. Probably wont buy it again as the print quality was hit or miss with it.

Great product but disappointed that when I opened the box it was black and not silver as purchased. We are printing Christmas ornaments so I couldnt return and wait for a new one to be shipped. Now the ornaments are in black.

Though material extruded good, and seemed very consistent. It is not any different from any other PLA that I have tested to earn a 40 dollars for 1 POUND!!! 1 POUND....really??? There is plenty of great manufacturers of PLA, ABS, Nylon, PET.... Seemecnc, Makergeeks, Taulamn, 3d solutions, hatchbox. If you new what they paid for, for the raw pellets. Granted you are paying for processing, and I will give them that, but not 40 dollars...

Like all of the other Dremel PLA Ive used in my Digilab 3D45, this filament breaks between every couple of uses if it is not used for more than 2 days at a time (it snaps apart in 2 or more places due to the strong circular shape memory and brittleness of the filament). This happens in up to 3 places: inside the guide tube, outside the guide tube, and near the extruder. I dont have this problem with any other brands of filaments in my other non-dremel 3D printer. Ive contacted Dremel support about this issue earlier this year with the silver PLA and they sent me a free replacement spool of equally brittle filament that results in a lot of waste as I have to cut and re-load about 6 inches of filament fragments apart every single time I print after not printing for a couple of days. I was hoping it was just a problem with the silver dremel PLA but it occurs with the red as well apparently. PLA is not known for its flexibility but it should at least not break while its on the spool, before its even used to print anything. I maintain a low-moisture room where my printing occurs, so its not filament spoilage from my local environment, and the desiccant pack was intact, this is not the first spool this has happened with, so I think Dremel just has a faulty formula for their PLA. Its a shame at the high price they charge for it. Its the most problematic and brittle filament Ive ever used, but at least it doesnt cause any jams and seems uniform in width. Ive lost over 3 feet of this spool so far to breakage since I received it on Nov 28th. I only use it because using non-dremel filaments requires an outside spool holder and will void my Dremel printer warranty and Im not ready to do that yet.

I have a 3D Printer Farm. I have 10 Dremel 3D20, 3 Dremel 3D40, 2 Dremel 3D45 and 2 Advanced Matterhacker Pulse XE NylonX 3D Printers. My daughter does 3D modeling with CAD. We only use Dremel Filament when it comes to making quality prints. I have tried almost all the best brands out there. I even go to the Matterhacker Office to talk to them about their filaments since they are the largest and most popular 3D filament store and manufacturer. I use a lot of the Build Series and NylonX filaments. But when it comes to printing anything with brilliant colors, and silky finish, I prefer Dremel. Aside from that, the Dremel printers were designed as a full eco system. The Printers are designed around their filament. I don’t have to worry or waste so much time, frustration, and money trying to tune a 3D printer to work with random filaments. Trust me, you will tear your hair out in frustration when you just can’t get it perfect. But with the Dremel 3D printer, the profile is already in the slicer. Dremel has 2 slicers that come with the printers. The Dremel 3D Slicer is a Dremel branded Cura. I use them sometimes when It is a small thing, but most of the time I prefer Simplify3D. It just has the best supports. I know all about the complaints of some people that their filaments break. All filaments break. I have all brands, they all break. PLA is brittle. You need to know how to prevent it from happening. First, make sure to keep all filaments in a dry box. It is not enough to keep them in the packaging. I have an airtight plastic bin and put rechargeable dehumidifiers. I keep humidity at 20%-30%. Second, use Capricorn tubes to guide the filaments to the Extruder. It should be in the point where the filament has a sharp bend. It reduces pressure on the extruder as well as the filament. They are inexpensive so it is really worth doing. Lastly, if you are leaving the filament inside the printer, you need to put the Desiccant that came with the filament and leave it inside the printer beside the filament. Dremel filament is at the same level as the PRO filament and you can tell when you put the finished print side by side with a print made from Matterhacker PRO series filament. They have special additives that let them print at higher temperatures. That is why they print at 220 degrees. The hotter temperature allows the print colors to be silky smooth and not that cheap shiny plastic look. I highly recommend it for Dremel printers. The default settings in Simplify 3D work for 80% of the things I make. Dremels require little maintenance. Just changing the build tape and adding a little oil every now and then. Using Dremel filament will keep them from breaking down as well. I buy about 50 boxes of Dremel filament a month. I really like them.
