> 24 hourI use this product 6/7 days a week (yes I do) and I can tell you its really made my life easier during the last couple of years (and counting). Its a breeze to pickup dirt and debris from the floor and Im able to clean the entire house with battery to spare (~30% left once done). I can even use it to clean sofa and chairs in addition to cleaning the floor. As of this writing, this product is 42% cheaper compared to when I bought it (sigh). However, if I divide the purchase cost by the number of days Ive been using it non-stop, its been a very smart investment (less than what you spend on your coffee, lets put it that way). Now the downside - customer support is pretty much useless. Theres a known issue with the trigger that requires you to replace it after some time . Mine failed 1-week after my 2 year warranty expired. Support insisted this was either a battery issue or that the entire motor needed replacement (nonsense). I did a google search and found about the broken trigger issue and bought a replacement in Amazon. Dyson support wasnt even able to offer me a replacement trigger and only offered to notify me if it ever was available. I disassembled the machine on my own and replaced the trigger (thank you youtube). Its back in business :) In summary, this is a very smart investment and no regrets with this purchase. However, per my experience, be aware of the trigger issue and the fact that Dyson Support is pretty much useless (a shame considering the quality and functionality of this product).

> 24 hourThe vacuum really needs to be continuously on a charger so its ready to use; in order to do that, you have to have it hanging in plain site unless you have an outlet in your closet or wherever you want to keep it. Really? Who has outlets in their closets? So factor in either paying an electrician to make an outlet in your closet, or deal with having it constantly visible. The trigger is too easily turned on when you hold it, so it regularly turns on when youre just transporting it from room to room, conversely, you always have to have your finger on the trigger to use it. They couldnt figure out a regular on/off switch? That said, the different suction strengths is nice, it is much lighter to carry than previous vacuums Ive had, and much easier to do stairs. But if you lose power upstairs, you have to take it downstairs to plug it in for awhile. Since Im getting older, with back issues, I appreciate the lower weight, so will keep the dang thing, but debating whether I should spring for the outlet in a closet.

> 24 hourOk, I waited 7 months to write this review. I have owned Orecks, good on hard floors, not great on carpet, Kenmore cannisters, pretty good, but didnt like dragging around a cannister, I have owned 2 sharks, 1 gave me problems the other, pretty good, but corded. I have owned a Hoover lynx battery operated, its battery lasted only 10 minutes after awhile. I read everything about vacuums and it took me about 6 months to decide to buy the Dyson. Out of all the vacuums I have ever owned, this is the best, by far, and I mean by far. I show everyone this vacuum, I believe I have helped the company in sales! Why should you buy this Dyson? Its light, no cord, easy to clean filter, and easy to empty. I have never run out of battery power once, it has the best suction power out of all my other sweepers, hands down. But the reason I waited 7 months to write this review is because if it can pick up glitter off a hard wood floor, you have my attention. If you want to suck the glitter up even faster, use the boost button and that was the only time I used the boost button....after sucking up all my Christmas glitter effortlessly, I am convinced I have the best sweeper that money can buy. I have hard wood floors and super thick shag large area rugs, it sucks up everything. Best sweeper, no comparison. If you are still trying to decide, stop waiting.....get it.

> 24 hourThis is my second dyson cordless vacuum. I have 4 dogs. After trying to go a cheap route after my first dyson bit the dust, I lasted less than a month before buying another Dyson. The suction and technology is unmatched. One of my favorite attachments is the small beater. It makes vacuuming the couch SO easy.

> 24 hourNOTE: Update below... Just got the new V11 from Amazon. Shipping and packaging was excellent. Now onto the actual Dyson, the VAC itself is amazing!!! However, the Torque Motorhead was a big disappointment on my hardwood floors. The $100 Dirt Devil I have does a better job, but it’s corded, which is why I went for the Dyson. I heard so many positive things about the V11 that I assumed I was just using it incorrectly. Turns out I wasn’t and that the head it comes with isn’t great when using it on bare floors. I contacted Dyson and they said I have to spend another $150 for a bare floor head from the V10 model. Just a heads up for those with mostly hardwoods, look into a V10 package that comes with both heads as it’s a better deal. It comes with both heads and since the V10 is the last model, it’s much cheaper to boot! That being said, the suction seems good on this thing. With the front vent on the included head “closed”, this thing sucks itself to the floor!! Battery life on turbo mode is about 5 or 6 minutes which is enough to super clean a small or medium sized room. (SEE UPDATE BELOW) On regular mode I can do most of my house, which is amazing. It’s also pretty quiet. I don’t like loud noises so I wear noise canceling headphones and listen to music when doing things like mowing and vacuuming. I didn’t need them at all with the Dyson. Overall pretty impressive, just that initial shock of seeing debris left behind on the hardwoods makes me want to give only three stars. I’m hoping the new bare floor head helps. UPDATE: Ive been using the Bare Floor Tool for a few months now and it is 100 times better than the Torque Motorhead on bare floors. It picks up way more stuff and the battery life is more than doubled!! It can also roll over things (like Cheerios) where the Torque Motorhead will just push them around. Also Ive noticed that my bin is fuller when using the Bare Floor Tool, as if the Torque Motorhead was somehow leaving find dust and dirt behind. IF you have all bare floors, try to find a Dyson kit that has the vac and the Bare Floor Tool. The Torque Motorhead will be useless to you. Mine lives in the back of the closet now.

> 24 hourI was cautious prior to buying this and read all the negative reviews but decided to buy. Glad I did. I wanted to comment on some of the negative comments with my opinion to help skeptical buyers like myself. So, 1. the plastic wall mount base, its not to flimsy. It holds the vacuum great if you slam it around like rubber weights in the gym. 2. If you see my picture I mounted it so its supported with the attachment on to help hold the weight and prevent the bottom from being caught. It has a lot of leverage on drywall anchors if its torqued on, as is anything mounted on sheet rock. I did this for my V7 as well and has worked great for years. 3. Use the right settings for the head when going from carpet to hardwood; the center setting or minus setting (letting in more air) and it works great. It picks up sand, cherries, screws, peanuts or what ever just fine. 4. Its not the manufactures fault there isnt an outlet in your closet. 5. The directions are vague and little under done, but this isnt a complicated item either. 6. Is this the right vacuum is the biggest question of all. I have a V7 for the second floor that is all carpet and it works great for about 1000 sq. ft. of quick clean up and is about $200 less. We went with this for the downstairs because we were too lazy to keep going upstairs and this one worked better transitioning on an off our rugs to hardwood that we on the first floor. We have a 1 year old and teenagers so this was a great addition that quickly and efficiently keep the floors clean for the baby. Im so over swiffer mops that dont really work. 7. Deep cleaning ability is good. We have a Kirby that we use one time a year (just before we have the carpets shampooed). The other 364 days of the year the Dysons do all the work. 8. Battery life, great in this V11. If you need more, vacuum more often or make life changes..lol. Ive cleaned the whole bottom floor and used on the car and still never got below 50% on the V11. The v7 would have needed to be charged at least once for that amount. So that maybe a decision point. Lastly the V11 has been said to be unbalanced in weight and awkward. If you see the second picture and use the attachment holder it offsets the slight misbalance. But really, it is 6 lbs. if that gives you issues get a gym membership, really. Oh and the V11 has a detachable battery that the v7 doesnt. If multiple charges for long runs is what you may need then that maybe a decision point. If not you may want to save some cash and go with the v7. Ive also purchased cheaper model of cordless vacuums but they dont last and preform like Dysons so youll get what you pay for.

> 24 hourI use it every day. Coming from an upright that was 15 years old, this is so much easier to use! Lugging the old one out of the utility closet to clean was a chore. This hangs conveniently on a wall and I rarely say this about cleaning, but this Dyson product makes cleaning fun. It works brilliantly for all my needs and comes with a load of accessories! Get one. If you are in doubt, as I was, try it out. You will not be disappointed.

> 24 hourI bought the Dyson Animal in 2007 and had it for 10+ years. It was still fully functional but was just getting too heavy and cumbersome for me to use in my small apartment. I was able to sell my old, fully working dyson (which still had amazing pick up btw) for $75. I sold a few other household items and then, I was able to buy my dyson at a great price here on amazon. :-) I also have a small ergorapido vacuum but i was getting extremely frustrated at how poor the suction was. It is essentially useless and was a waste of $100. I am trying to sell that too but alas, no one is biting!! Not surprised there!!! First off, it was better than Christmas when this new dyson arrived. The boxing was impeccable and each piece is high quality. I was very excited to use my vacuum because my apartment had not been thoroughly deep cleaned in a while!! The old dyson being way too difficult for me to maneuver with my back problem and the ergorapido being completely USELESS. My allergies were also really flaring up with all the dust!! So, the first time I used the V11 I was extremely impressed with the pick up capacity. I was able to clean the vacuum my entire apartment, with base boards and detailing of dusty furniture and blinds, in under 45 minutes one morning before I went to work. I couldnt believe how much dust there was but already my eyes and sinuses are LESS itchy. I emptied the canister twice because I picked up so MUCH DUST. Although it was slightly heavier than I was anticipating, it is MUCH lighter and easier to maneuver than my old dyson animal. I didnt break a sweat like I did with the old dyson. It rolls very smoothly and the AUTO adjustable function between the rug and carpet saves A LOT OF TIME. I was able to clean so much more in less time because I wasnt messing with a cord and switching between the different functions constantly. I was able to complete EVERYTHING on one charge of course with plenty of time to spare. I love all the attachment heads that come with it. I am also VERY much looking to keeping my car more clean on a regular basis now that I have a portable vacuum with great attachments as well! I also really like the feature where you can remove the roller from the side of the vacuum head. I have long hair and wanted something that I would be able to easily remove the hair! I was unable to unscrew the side of it easily but that was ok because I was still able to pull the hair out pretty easily, much more easily than other vacuums I have used in the past. CAVEATS: Make sure to empty the vacuum BEFORE there is too much stuff in it! Debris WILL get caught if it goes above the line! I had to spend a little time really getting the canister cleaned out before I started round 2 because my hair got caught above the line! Next time, I will empty it sooner! Vacuuming just got so much easier I barely even noticed how much I was really picking up so fast! Now that my apartment is so clean, the V11 will make it much more enjoyable and easier for me to maintain a cleaner home. I will be vacuuming more frequently now to maintain areas because of the ease of using the vacuum. It is a highly effective vacuum and there isnt much of a need to have to run the vacuum over multiple times in one location. It picks up what it rolls over very well. For installation of the hanging charging station on the wall, make sure you have a drill on hand to make the holes for the screw to go into! It didnt say that in the directions but you will need a drill to make the pilot holes! :-) I love that you can hang the vacuum out of sight just about anywhere near an outlet! I am VERY pleased with my purchase and my dyson upgrade! I can see this one lasting me at least another ten years which to me is worth it, considering my last one was still going for over 10+! I also love the interface. It is a really really COOL vacuum and it was worth the effort to let go of my old dyson for a new one!

> 24 hourDysons are expensive but I wouldnt buy anything else. We have 2 German shepherds and even if we didnt, Id buy this. Amazing how much it picks up while regular vacuums pick up so much less. The amount of hair and dust it picks up every couple days....I could make a wig.

> 24 hourIm still new to this vacuum. So far Im enjoying it. I gave it 4 out of 5 stars because I like it very much with some minor down-sides (see below). The charge seems to last more than long enough to do my entire 1500 sf, 3 bedroom, 2 BA house. The suction seems strong. I enjoy the feature that lets the vacuum adjust its suction depending on the surface (hard floor versus rugs). Unlike some people, I dont find the need to hold down an easy-to-operate button to keep the power on a problem at all; it means that the vacuum only runs when you want it to. I share the sense of some reviewers that it would be better if the vacuum more easily stood by itself. I havent yet looked into the question some folks have raised about the desire for a more easily swappable replacement battery, since the battery doesnt run out of juice during my whole-house vacuum. Also, Im a small person without huge upper body strength and Its not particularly hard for me to operate this machine one-handed. However, its a little heavier on the wrist than I might have anticipated. I also appreciate the swivel head, which lets me maneuver into spaces I wouldnt have thought the regular attachment could accommodate. I havent yet experimented with most of the attachments so cant comment yet on those. All in all, this is a most welcome change from my (high quality) canister vacuum - so much smoother and easier, none of the awkwardness of plugging, un-plugging, inadvertently yanking the cord out of the socket, etc. The convenience felt worth the difference in price.
