Greater than one weekI own a Dyson Ball vac and a older Dyson stick vacuum, the stick vac is well over 5 years old and I have had to replace the battery once so far. Its about that time to replace the battery again because it only runs for at most 5 min on a charge, where it used to run for about 15 min on a new battery. Aside from the dying battery it is still going strong. I primarily use the stick vac for vacuuming our kitchen and entry way tiles, so I generally dont need long run times. The V11 is overkill for my initial needs in terms of price and battery capacity (about 45 to 60min), but I bought it anyway and Im glad I did. So, after using it for a couple months I have to say it has impressed me to no end. I literally have no use for my Dyson Ball vac anymore. The V11 has just enough run time to vacuum my whole house (3500sqft) and I believe it has better suction then my ball vac. This thing makes vacuuming the stairs a breeze and I no longer have to move furnature around to get into tight spaces like between couches because the head is smaller and less bulky than the ball vac. Light weight and portability is the biggest plus for the V11 compared to my ball vac... its funny that I am comparing the V11 to a full sized plug in vacuum but it literally is that good. This is sounding like a too good to be true review, trust me it is not. Aesthetically the the coolest thing is the display and I thought at first it was gimmicky. Well I was wrong, since I have moved on to only using the V11 and retiring my ball vac the display has helped me gauge how much time I have left for vacuuming the house. So far I have not run out of charge even on long runs, by long runs I mean vacuuming the whole house in one go and I have done this multiple times already. Only downside to this little guy is that I have to empty the waste bin halfway through my long vaccuming sessions. There are loads of attachemnt heads most of which I havent used yet. The only real gimmick to this vacuum is that there is a sound effect that happens when the trigger is released. Its like a cartoon spring boing sound, but it is a very pleasing sound and not at all annoying. Hope this review helps someone because I feel like I have just been rambling on and on.

> 3 dayI named my Dyson Chewvacca because Its burly, meant to last, and a great addition to any spaceship. The only challenge Im having so far is that it takes an inordinate amount of time to charge as opposed to the runtime. From there another inconvenience would include its general weight and the fact that theres no trigger lock, so I know you only have to touch the trigger very lightly, but your inclination is to pull it down as hard as you can. Id say this is a safety feature that customers probably dont like but is likely necessary for its functionality.

17-11-2024Putchased a second one!! NOTHING CAN BE IMPROVED once you put a little dab of wax on the tube you must remove to dump the hair & dirt. This vacuum is seductive, “use me, vacuum now !! USE ME!! “ it silently screams! I leave it in corner by dining room and every time I pass it I want to vacuum the little tiny stuff that accumulates every day. I have 8 cats in the house, (some stay in different areas) and the power is so underrated. Make payments on this sucker, never EVER vacuum with that damned tether called a CORD again. You will never regret it and be glad this old 70 yr old lady spoke up. It even gets halfway under a king-sized bed!! Vacuum the remainder from other side of bed!! I have never used one of the cheaper sticks, but with two large Lithium batteries and all the accessories they cannot compare. My gawd, women, trust me. It’s worth every penny. 105° outside, yah gotta have AC. Dirt: yah gotta have THIS CORDLESS high-powered Dyson.

> 3 dayI wish I could return this product. I’ve had this product since January of 2020. It worked well for about one year. But it hardly works now. Barely picks up hair. I have to change the filter each time I use it. When I’m done with it and go to hang it up, it drops a bunch of dirt and stuff that was supposed to be sucked up. I’m in the market, yet again, for a new vacuum. Super disappointed.

> 3 dayNOTE: Update below... Just got the new V11 from Amazon. Shipping and packaging was excellent. Now onto the actual Dyson, the VAC itself is amazing!!! However, the Torque Motorhead was a big disappointment on my hardwood floors. The $100 Dirt Devil I have does a better job, but it’s corded, which is why I went for the Dyson. I heard so many positive things about the V11 that I assumed I was just using it incorrectly. Turns out I wasn’t and that the head it comes with isn’t great when using it on bare floors. I contacted Dyson and they said I have to spend another $150 for a bare floor head from the V10 model. Just a heads up for those with mostly hardwoods, look into a V10 package that comes with both heads as it’s a better deal. It comes with both heads and since the V10 is the last model, it’s much cheaper to boot! That being said, the suction seems good on this thing. With the front vent on the included head “closed”, this thing sucks itself to the floor!! Battery life on turbo mode is about 5 or 6 minutes which is enough to super clean a small or medium sized room. (SEE UPDATE BELOW) On regular mode I can do most of my house, which is amazing. It’s also pretty quiet. I don’t like loud noises so I wear noise canceling headphones and listen to music when doing things like mowing and vacuuming. I didn’t need them at all with the Dyson. Overall pretty impressive, just that initial shock of seeing debris left behind on the hardwoods makes me want to give only three stars. I’m hoping the new bare floor head helps. UPDATE: Ive been using the Bare Floor Tool for a few months now and it is 100 times better than the Torque Motorhead on bare floors. It picks up way more stuff and the battery life is more than doubled!! It can also roll over things (like Cheerios) where the Torque Motorhead will just push them around. Also Ive noticed that my bin is fuller when using the Bare Floor Tool, as if the Torque Motorhead was somehow leaving find dust and dirt behind. IF you have all bare floors, try to find a Dyson kit that has the vac and the Bare Floor Tool. The Torque Motorhead will be useless to you. Mine lives in the back of the closet now.

Greater than one weekWe bought this vacuum three years ago and we enjoyed the convenience factor. It’s light weight. No cords. We found ourselves vacuuming more frequently simply because it was so much easier. That was the entire point of buying it. Stairs were a dream. But like so many others have pointed out, the trigger mechanism eventually broke. And the design appears to almost intentionally make it incredibly difficult to replace such a simple mechanism. The average person absolutely will not own the tools required to completely disassemble the motor, the vortex mechanism, and the trigger assembly. Every time you think you might be getting close, yet another set of screws, some requiring a t8 screwdriver and one requiring a nonstandard 6 inch long extension awaits. For such a great vacuum, I expect longer than 3 years use before encountering such a pain of a fix… in over 30 years of vacuums, I’ve never encountered such a basic failure so early in a vacuum’s life. So, it’s great while it lasts but you may not have a particularly long relationship with it before the pain begins.

> 3 dayI bought a Dyson V10 a few years ago, and I love it. I moved to a new house, and my stuff has been in storage for several months, and my place was just getting too dusty for simple sweeping clean and/or mopping the floors. So I decided to give the V11 a chance. The Time Remaining Meter: Thats a cool feature, but not terribly important for me personally. It was easy to get accustomed to how much vacuuming I could do with the V10 before I had to charge it again. The Real-Time Carpet/Floor Adjustment: Not very impressed with the smart speed setting when rolling over throw rugs, at least. I have tile and wood floors, and only have small throw rugs in the bathroom, for example. It doesnt really register and speed up until Im about 40%-60% done with the 3x5 carpet. I think it would be more convenient if you have larger carpet space to vacuum over. Conclusion: Other than those two additions, this is basically the V10, but revised. Either model is a good purchase. I only had cheap $30-$40 Dirt Devil small vacuums for 20+ years, and got tired of the terrible efficiency. It also was annoying when a model I had would no longer have replacement bags and pieces after a couple/few years. The Dyson was initially something that made me think What the heck are you doing spending this much for a VACUUM?!, only to go home and vacuum my entire place in 20 minutes. I was floored (pun intended), because it used to take 20 minutes to do just the living room! So I recommend considering these models if you want a mobile, not too heavy, and reliable vacuum that is really easy to empty the dust into the trash. The attachments are nice as well, but... ADVICE: Adjust your budget to include the fluffy cleaner head. That is amazing if you have tile and/or wooden floors.

Greater than one weekIve had this vacuum for a day and Im already hooked. Its super easy to vacuum any surface from stairs to the cat tree. No messing with cords and its lighter than a plug-in vacuum. I love all the attachments and that theres a clip to attach two attachments to the broom so I dont have to go to the base station to get them. I finally pulled the trigger on a nice vacuum because the Bissell Id had the last few years kept shooting dirt and cat litter back at my feet instead of picking it up. This one sucks just about everything up! I like the different power modes. The base station is easy to install and use. My one complaint about it is that not all the attachments fit on it. I would love to have all the attachments in one place but theres only room for two. On top of that, the other two wouldnt fit if I tried - theres no clearance with the wall. It would be awesome to have a base station that could fit all the attachments. The only other complaint I have, and the main reason for the 4 star rating, is that the handle creates a pressure point between my thumb and forefinger when Im vacuuming and its uncomfortable. Basically most of the weight rests on that point on my hand. Considering everything else, this vacuum is still excellent and the pros absolutely outweigh the cons. Id buy it again!

Greater than one weekWe rent a home with hardwood floors and Mexican tile in some rooms. When we moved here I had a Sebo (very expensive German brand) that was supposed to rival Dyson. The Sebo would not allow me to turn off the brushes and was damaging the hardwood. Bought an expensive parquet floor attachment with hoses. It was so huge, cumbersome, and miserable to use, dragging the upright and messing around with hoses and cords, that I hated having to vacuum at all and it took over 2 hours. Before Sebo I owned a Dyson upright and still cant believe I let myself get talked into the Sebo after my first Dyson gave up the ghost. Always loved my Dyson. The Sebo is mega expensive (altogether we had over $1000 wrapped up in it with base price and extra attachments). I thought the price of the V11 Animal was pretty steep, but now I can do my entire home (3-bedrooms, huge kitchen/dining/living room, laundry room, 2 baths, and sun room in a little over an hour and never take it off the Eco setting. That includes 1 large area rug, 1 5 runner, and a door mat. It rarely takes more than 1-1/2 hours and thats getting under beds, too. The brush on the floor attachment is strong enough to pull things off the rugs, but it does NOT damage the hardwood finish. Its super simple to pull out at a moments notice to clean up dry spills, use the power brush to clean cat fur from cushions, or just do a quick traffic lane maintenance mid-week. No hoses to trip over or yards of cord to fight with. Ive only had Dyson back in my home a little over a month, but Im so happy that I bought it. Keep in mind I have had 7 orthopedic surgeries (neck, lumbar spine, knee, both feet, and both hands) and deal with the attendant disabilities that have resulted, but I can do this and still stand upright when Im done. A little tired and sore, but I can handle it like a breeze compared to what I went through with the Sebo. I do notice that it is harder to push on the rugs so not sure how Id handle an entire carpeted house, but still, I highly recommend this machine!

Greater than one weekSo Ive been using this Dyson V11 Torque Drive Cordless Vacuum Cleaner for a while and these are the pros and cons Ive found with the product. First of all, Ive used a vacuum cleaner that was nearly 100 dollars previously and had to sell it back because the suction power was just too weak. (It was made from China) Now that I’ve got it changed to this Dyson V11 product the difference all I could say is that it is crazy. There is a reason why people were buying this expensive product for a reason. And from this experience I was able to understand why people say expensive products are expensive for a reason. As I was saying, Dyson V11 series at current point has the strongest suction power in the vacuum cleaner market. When you are using this product, you wont feel any worry that this machine wouldnt have the capacity or the sucking power to suck something out from the ground. When I do use it, it even feels as if the vacuum cleaner is sucking the carpet fur itself and not just the dirt, thats how strong it is. In terms of the weight, some people do say females would have a hard time using it for a long time because of its weight. It is partly true, considering that Dyson V11 is not a lightweight compared to other cheap vacuum cleaners I’ve used. But this bit of weight actually brings more stability to cleaning and that’s what I personally felt more positively than the weight being something to worry about. The battery life so far is lasting good and you can change the modes(each mode lists the battery time left on the screen) to your own choice how long and extensive you want to use your Dyson. In the end, to me, this product was not a waste of money but a life lesson why you should buy a good product in the first place for a reason. Because it sure does its job well and Dyson’s warranty system is also trustworthy in this case for future problems.
