After much consideration and after reading and watching many reviews and demos, I pull the trigger on this Dyson V11 Torque Dr. a few months ago. Amazon allowed me to do the six payment plan which was very helpful. I also bought the extended warranty. In short it’s been super, I even vacuum my cat. Total game changer. Yes it’s plastic, but it works perfect every time every day, honestly it’s almost the perfect vacuum cleaner. Pros: It’s lightweight and cleans better than anything I’ve used before, easy to steer and handle, easy to empty, easy to swap out filters, comes with all necessary attachments, great customer service, I’ve called them twice with questions, quiet, pet hair friendly my cat even lets me vacuum her she loves it!, Almost 0 emissions, Great for catching in house rogue mosquitoes, holds a charge long enough for my needs. It’s quite literally the perfect vacuum cleaner. I mainly use the auto adjustment but have used ecco successfully and the almighty powerful boost mode which will drain the battery quickly but refurbish a rug back to its new luster. I have a house with predominantly floor tile and two large floor rugs also front and back door mats; roughly 1470 sq footage. Also low profile carpet in a refurbished 2 car garage. I can maintain the entire space and clean my cat twice a day and not run out of a charge. If I’m doing heavier cleaning I will run out eventually but it charges quick enough. It was one of my big concerns and I’ve only found myself twice wishing I had further charge. Cons: my only gripe is I’ve developed a callus on the inside top of my middle finger and the right side of my thumb. Itd be nice to see a more ergonomic grip redesign that also includes a trigger lock so you don’t have to constantly pull with your finger. I did purchase a small third party plastic device that acts as a trigger lock that works OK. I would add that anybody who has a physical impairment might be challenged to operate this vacuum cleaner. Not any more or less than any other standard Upright but it is something to consider. This being cordless would be a benefit that said. I highly recommend getting extra filters and changing your filter once every couple weeks even. I do not recommend waiting for the filter change icon to appear. I believe this will help the vacuum cleaner live longer. Dyson filters run $24 apiece, I ordered this third-party manufacturer filter and they work just as well https://www.amazon.com/Wolfish-Filters-Replacements-Cordless-970013-02/dp/B07V85J4SS ***Do not vacuum anything wet or any liquids; it will mess up the motor, also nothing fine like ash. I read other reviews were people have learned this the hard way. I’ve had good luck with cat hair and cat dander. It’s so awesome I can vacuum my cat!

I live in a small apartment with wood floors so a traditional vacuum is a little overkill. The Dyson v11 Animal fits the bill. It does a great job on cat fur. It’s numerous attachments make it very versatile and I especially like the different power settings. You can drain the battery pretty quickly while using the Boost setting. I recommend running it on Eco or Auto unless you need the extra suction for a particular job. I’ve had my v11 for just under 3 years and my only complaint is a few of the plastic parts are not built strong enough. I’ve had to replace the trigger twice and the main body that holds the trigger once. The latter was because the plastic posts where the screws inside attach break relatively easily. It’s not like they are exposed making them vulnerable to dings while cleaning, but all it takes is dropping it or having it tip over a few times and you’ll have broken screw posts. The only time it’s a problem comes when you have to replace the trigger. The good news is the v11 is easy to fix without having to pay Dyson to do it. I recommend buying a metal after market trigger, put it in as soon as the original plastic trigger breaks and then never open the housing again. There are videos all over the Internet that can walk you through the process and the tools you need to do it (like a long, thin, size 8 star screwdriver). So, all-in-all it’s a good vacuum with a few minor design flaws. UPDATE: Dyson has changed the way it manufactures the main body. They now cover the internal circuit board with silicone sealant. This means in order to install a metal trigger, you have to carefully scrape off the sealant with a razor or x-acto knife to get at terminal connections. Those connections must be disconnected in order to replace the trigger. I’m not sure why Dyson did this. A cynic would say it was to make it harder to self-repair or repair out of warranty, but I hope that was not their motivation.

I love the power and the versatility of using the V 11. I wish it would’ve come with a buffing head as well. That had cost $98. But, I will eventually end up buying one.

My only disappointment is having to continue to hold down the on trigger. Everything else is perfect.

Pros Sweep, Cleans well. Lightweight Charge seems good Washable filter No bags Menu on top of handke Very tall handle, gets in the way if under 5’5” Must constantly hold the ON button! Emptying the small debris container is a Royal Pain! Fills quickly Same for removing and cleaning filter.

PROS: - The suction is as good as our kirby and Oreck 1300. It beats both when you add in its maneuverability. Really impressed. - I thought holding in the switch would be an issue but it isnt at all. Its very light. In fact, its hard to even pick it up without turning it on. - Battery life is amazing. Ive never run it down, even when I did all the hardwood and tile on boost mode. - LOVE Auto mode. Genius. CONS: - I found small particles like litter get spun out from the torque head on tile. So I purchased the V10 soft roller head for hardwood and tile (Note that Auto mode doesnt work with it). - The weight gets to me if I do all the hardwood and tile floors at once, and our house is small (1500sqft w/~60% tile or hardwood). Part of it might be the wheels on the V10 soft roller head move *so* easy I think I expend more energy just keeping it where I want it. Maybe thats why they got rid of it on the V11. I dont have an issue with the weight when using the torque head on carpet. - I dont like the brush attachments on the dyson. The bristles are just one row and have large gaps which lets a lot of air escape, significantly reducing the suction. I was surprised at this. I looked for aftermarket brushes but they just copy the dyson design. Luckily one of my old brush heads fit. - This is so convenient I find that I vacuum more often A tip I found for rugs - put it in Eco mode and open the vent in the torque head (red switch). Then it doesnt pull the rug up into the torque head. That works just as well as the soft roller.

Even though there are close to 5,000 reviews on this product and this will probably never get read, I feel compelled to write something because this has been a game-changer for me. Apparently, bending down and plugging in a vacuum was inhibiting to using my former vacuum. I did not know this until I got the Dyson. The Dyson is always charged up, and now I can just grab it and start to vacuum. No more stooping down and trying to pick up one hair off the bathroom floor (where, you know, theres never just one.) Instead, I just run in with this cordless vacuum cleaner. So convenient! Its also easier than my previous vacuum to switch out the attachments and seems just as powerful, even though it is much smaller. But its small size makes it a lot more nimble and easier to get in awkward and tiny spaces. So yes, it has a nice amount of pros. But if Im being honest, the best part about it is the no bending down to plug in a cord. I know this seems like such a minuscule benefit and of course, there are other vacuums that do this. But this one is powerful, unlike my other cordless vacs. Really, it does everything my giant full-size vacuum did but it does it better and because its so convenient, I use the vacuum more and have more positive connotations with this one. I dont know anyone who really likes to spend their money on boring vacuums and that kind of thing, but I see what all the hype is about. I am not a neat freak yet I use this all the time and my house feels so much cleaner. So happy I made this purchase!

I bought the Dyson Animal in 2007 and had it for 10+ years. It was still fully functional but was just getting too heavy and cumbersome for me to use in my small apartment. I was able to sell my old, fully working dyson (which still had amazing pick up btw) for $75. I sold a few other household items and then, I was able to buy my dyson at a great price here on amazon. :-) I also have a small ergorapido vacuum but i was getting extremely frustrated at how poor the suction was. It is essentially useless and was a waste of $100. I am trying to sell that too but alas, no one is biting!! Not surprised there!!! First off, it was better than Christmas when this new dyson arrived. The boxing was impeccable and each piece is high quality. I was very excited to use my vacuum because my apartment had not been thoroughly deep cleaned in a while!! The old dyson being way too difficult for me to maneuver with my back problem and the ergorapido being completely USELESS. My allergies were also really flaring up with all the dust!! So, the first time I used the V11 I was extremely impressed with the pick up capacity. I was able to clean the vacuum my entire apartment, with base boards and detailing of dusty furniture and blinds, in under 45 minutes one morning before I went to work. I couldnt believe how much dust there was but already my eyes and sinuses are LESS itchy. I emptied the canister twice because I picked up so MUCH DUST. Although it was slightly heavier than I was anticipating, it is MUCH lighter and easier to maneuver than my old dyson animal. I didnt break a sweat like I did with the old dyson. It rolls very smoothly and the AUTO adjustable function between the rug and carpet saves A LOT OF TIME. I was able to clean so much more in less time because I wasnt messing with a cord and switching between the different functions constantly. I was able to complete EVERYTHING on one charge of course with plenty of time to spare. I love all the attachment heads that come with it. I am also VERY much looking to keeping my car more clean on a regular basis now that I have a portable vacuum with great attachments as well! I also really like the feature where you can remove the roller from the side of the vacuum head. I have long hair and wanted something that I would be able to easily remove the hair! I was unable to unscrew the side of it easily but that was ok because I was still able to pull the hair out pretty easily, much more easily than other vacuums I have used in the past. CAVEATS: Make sure to empty the vacuum BEFORE there is too much stuff in it! Debris WILL get caught if it goes above the line! I had to spend a little time really getting the canister cleaned out before I started round 2 because my hair got caught above the line! Next time, I will empty it sooner! Vacuuming just got so much easier I barely even noticed how much I was really picking up so fast! Now that my apartment is so clean, the V11 will make it much more enjoyable and easier for me to maintain a cleaner home. I will be vacuuming more frequently now to maintain areas because of the ease of using the vacuum. It is a highly effective vacuum and there isnt much of a need to have to run the vacuum over multiple times in one location. It picks up what it rolls over very well. For installation of the hanging charging station on the wall, make sure you have a drill on hand to make the holes for the screw to go into! It didnt say that in the directions but you will need a drill to make the pilot holes! :-) I love that you can hang the vacuum out of sight just about anywhere near an outlet! I am VERY pleased with my purchase and my dyson upgrade! I can see this one lasting me at least another ten years which to me is worth it, considering my last one was still going for over 10+! I also love the interface. It is a really really COOL vacuum and it was worth the effort to let go of my old dyson for a new one!

I use an older Dyson upright and my wife uses a Bissell stick vacuum After one month: NO MORE CORDS! The V11 is light in weight but heavy on convenience and the suction is amazing. My wife has rheumatoid arthritis and I worried how she would be able to use the V11 with the works in the handle. She says it is as easy to use as the stick vac. It is very well balanced. The trigger switch has not been an issue for either of us. Maneuvering the vacuum head is dead easy and so much more convenient than the fixed heads of other vacuums. The vacuum head goes under cabinet overhangs and furniture, something the upright can’t do. The powered brush head does an excellent job on wood floors. Cleaning ceiling air and filter vents is so much more easy. I was skeptical how the V11 would handle the few short pile area rugs but it cleans them just fine. We have not run out of battery power cleaning our 2300 square foot house. The light weight, convenience and powered head means many small jobs go to the Dyson instead of the Dust Buster. Emptying is easy. My one concern is dust accumulation on the inside surfaces of the vacuum. I use an air compressor to blow out the dust accumulation in the innards of the Dyson upright and it is amazing how much there is. I’ve cleaned the V11 the same way and dust accumulation in it is also amazing. I can’t imagine not having an air compressor to clean these vacuums. The most important point I want to reiterate is that the convenience, light weight and maneuverability of the V11 means floors get vacuumed more often! What is the value of convenience, ease of use and good cleaning? Despite the initial cost, this vacuum can handle the jobs as well if not better than our other vacuums but with magnitudes more ease and convenience.

I actually LOVE vacuuming now. It’s so easy for quick spills or daily tidying. Plenty powerful and cordless to take upstairs, downstairs, and ON THE STAIRS. I do wish the next one will have a larger fill chamber. With two dogs, I have to empty twice, but it IS so quick to change out.
