> 3 day...if Id known it was only going to last 2 and a half years. First off, let me say, its really easy to use. I hate wrestling with a vacuum cord, and between that and the name Dyson, I was sold. I was retiring and simultaneously letting of my cleaning lady go, so I saw it as an economy move. I have a velour sofa, and the Dysons upholstery attachment is the eighth wonder of the world. But its draw -- the ability to pick stuff up -- started to wane after only a few weeks, and no amount of removing and washing the filter seemed to improve it. Nonetheless, it made walking on my floor feel less like walking on the beach, so I kept quiet. Just lately, the switch has been acting up. First, it would stay on even after I released the button in the handle that makes it go. But briefly twisting the filter would cut it off, so I let it go. Today, it wouldnt start. At all. Whaddya want to bet a new switch will cost me $535? So maybe Ill look around, and maybe Ill buy another Dyson. That cordless thing and superb attachments are a mighty powerful draw.

> 3 dayThis vacuum is truly amazing. The cordless feature is so dreamy. It sucks up cat hair and dog hair and dirt so efficiently. The battery is sufficient to clean a 1200 square-foot space without a recharge. The features are easy to use and it easily hangs on the wall tucked night nicely away with the wall mount that comes with a vacuum cleaner. I have two of these and they make my life so much easier. The vacuum comes with a hand held attachment that allows you to quickly and efficiently, vacuum cat and dog hair, riddled, furniture, and vehicle upholstery.

> 3 dayWere long-time Dyson users and have been generally pretty happy with their products. This V11 cordless product is so woefully underwhelming that I felt like I literally flushed $600 down the toilet. I just vacuumed this morning, and Im still pretty agitated from the experience so bear with me. It is winter and we have a yard. Leaf bits do get dragged in along with blades of dead grass. We have a Giant Schnauzer who doesnt hardly shed and two cats. Our floors are mostly bare tile and wood, tho we do have an 9x12 area rug in one area. Total area being vacuumed is around 600 sq ft. Not once this morning did I have to dump the (small) canister because it was full. i did, however, have to take the wand off, take the canister outside, slide it open, and dislodge hair and debris from the (very small) inlet hole between the wand and the canister. SIX TIMES! Not sticks or rocks or other hard objects...just blades of grass, some leaf debris, and a little hair. And, just to be clear, pulling out the visible blockage at the inlet wont do because there is stuff backed up into the internal wand centered in the canister. To get up into the center of the canister requires a thin stick or a coat hanger and a bit of finagling...all while holding this dusty canister outside where the slightest breeze causes a dust storm right in front of the person trying to unblock the canister. Ive come to the conclusion that Dyson engineers must have tested this on glitter in a lab setting while wearing hazmat suits. Oh, and lest I forget, if you have one of these rugs that has the surface cut at the same height, forget it. To keep this vacuum from bogging down on our area rug, this product has to be turned to the ECO setting which means there is barely any suction. In essence, I could sweep that rug with a broom and get more stuff off of it. It does do okay on sculptured rugs for what its worth. There are some good points about this product: highly maneuverable, good battery life, lightweight. In the end, tho, I could have gotten all that with a much, much cheaper cordless vacuum.

> 3 dayI received this top of the line Dyson vacuum and noted a problem immediately after charging. When I picked it out off the charger, it turned on without pressing the button. Then it worked normally for a few days before it stuck in the on position. We could still use it that way because it turned off when we put it back on the charger. Then, yesterday, it wouldnt run at all because it didnt have any charge. No amount of wiggling would get the charger light to turn on. Research on the Internet indicates that we have a well-known battery housing defect and that Dyson will fix it for free. Unfortunately, Dyson customer service is shut down for the pandemic. So, we cant use our vacuum until the lockdown lifts. When it does, we will have a very good vacuum. REVISED REVIEW: We finally got through to Dyson. They gave us a reference number, told us to take the vacuum and attachment to UPS (who would package it all up), and when we had a tracking number, to send that tracking number back in a reply to the message they sent us. We did this and had a new vacuum cleaner in three days. It works very well. Note: In the review above, I noted that the third problem we had was that it wouldnt charge. It turned out that problem was not the vacuum cleaner. It was the charger itself. The new vacuum cleaner came as a full package and we were able to change out the charger on the wall.

Greater than one weekI have been wanting a Cordless Dyson for a long time and i am not disappointed! The battery lasts very good except on Boost mode but that seems self explanatory because it’s going to full power to get deep into your carpet. You get about 14 min at full charge in this mode.

> 3 dayI’ve been using Dyson animal vacuums since they were invented. They do better than any other vacuum in the battle against dog hair from our 3 dogs. But this stick vacuum picks up more dog hair than any plug-in vacuum I’ve ever used. It’s just amazing how much more it picks up. Add to that not having to hassle with a cord, and this thing is just amazing. It’s so effortless to just grab it and vacuum one part of the house everyday. It actually makes vacuuming fun because it just picks up so much stuff so easily.

> 3 dayIve had this vacuum for a day and Im already hooked. Its super easy to vacuum any surface from stairs to the cat tree. No messing with cords and its lighter than a plug-in vacuum. I love all the attachments and that theres a clip to attach two attachments to the broom so I dont have to go to the base station to get them. I finally pulled the trigger on a nice vacuum because the Bissell Id had the last few years kept shooting dirt and cat litter back at my feet instead of picking it up. This one sucks just about everything up! I like the different power modes. The base station is easy to install and use. My one complaint about it is that not all the attachments fit on it. I would love to have all the attachments in one place but theres only room for two. On top of that, the other two wouldnt fit if I tried - theres no clearance with the wall. It would be awesome to have a base station that could fit all the attachments. The only other complaint I have, and the main reason for the 4 star rating, is that the handle creates a pressure point between my thumb and forefinger when Im vacuuming and its uncomfortable. Basically most of the weight rests on that point on my hand. Considering everything else, this vacuum is still excellent and the pros absolutely outweigh the cons. Id buy it again!

Greater than one weekI live in a small apartment with wood floors so a traditional vacuum is a little overkill. The Dyson v11 Animal fits the bill. It does a great job on cat fur. It’s numerous attachments make it very versatile and I especially like the different power settings. You can drain the battery pretty quickly while using the Boost setting. I recommend running it on Eco or Auto unless you need the extra suction for a particular job. I’ve had my v11 for just under 3 years and my only complaint is a few of the plastic parts are not built strong enough. I’ve had to replace the trigger twice and the main body that holds the trigger once. The latter was because the plastic posts where the screws inside attach break relatively easily. It’s not like they are exposed making them vulnerable to dings while cleaning, but all it takes is dropping it or having it tip over a few times and you’ll have broken screw posts. The only time it’s a problem comes when you have to replace the trigger. The good news is the v11 is easy to fix without having to pay Dyson to do it. I recommend buying a metal after market trigger, put it in as soon as the original plastic trigger breaks and then never open the housing again. There are videos all over the Internet that can walk you through the process and the tools you need to do it (like a long, thin, size 8 star screwdriver). So, all-in-all it’s a good vacuum with a few minor design flaws. UPDATE: Dyson has changed the way it manufactures the main body. They now cover the internal circuit board with silicone sealant. This means in order to install a metal trigger, you have to carefully scrape off the sealant with a razor or x-acto knife to get at terminal connections. Those connections must be disconnected in order to replace the trigger. I’m not sure why Dyson did this. A cynic would say it was to make it harder to self-repair or repair out of warranty, but I hope that was not their motivation.

> 3 dayGreat power, flexible, easy to use—battery lasts no problem- only issue was one tool was missing in the box we received. Dyson replaced it in a few days no charge.

> 3 dayNOTE: Update below... Just got the new V11 from Amazon. Shipping and packaging was excellent. Now onto the actual Dyson, the VAC itself is amazing!!! However, the Torque Motorhead was a big disappointment on my hardwood floors. The $100 Dirt Devil I have does a better job, but it’s corded, which is why I went for the Dyson. I heard so many positive things about the V11 that I assumed I was just using it incorrectly. Turns out I wasn’t and that the head it comes with isn’t great when using it on bare floors. I contacted Dyson and they said I have to spend another $150 for a bare floor head from the V10 model. Just a heads up for those with mostly hardwoods, look into a V10 package that comes with both heads as it’s a better deal. It comes with both heads and since the V10 is the last model, it’s much cheaper to boot! That being said, the suction seems good on this thing. With the front vent on the included head “closed”, this thing sucks itself to the floor!! Battery life on turbo mode is about 5 or 6 minutes which is enough to super clean a small or medium sized room. (SEE UPDATE BELOW) On regular mode I can do most of my house, which is amazing. It’s also pretty quiet. I don’t like loud noises so I wear noise canceling headphones and listen to music when doing things like mowing and vacuuming. I didn’t need them at all with the Dyson. Overall pretty impressive, just that initial shock of seeing debris left behind on the hardwoods makes me want to give only three stars. I’m hoping the new bare floor head helps. UPDATE: Ive been using the Bare Floor Tool for a few months now and it is 100 times better than the Torque Motorhead on bare floors. It picks up way more stuff and the battery life is more than doubled!! It can also roll over things (like Cheerios) where the Torque Motorhead will just push them around. Also Ive noticed that my bin is fuller when using the Bare Floor Tool, as if the Torque Motorhead was somehow leaving find dust and dirt behind. IF you have all bare floors, try to find a Dyson kit that has the vac and the Bare Floor Tool. The Torque Motorhead will be useless to you. Mine lives in the back of the closet now.
