So I should Premise that I only use this on the max setting , that is the highest of the 3 settings. So on the high setting I love it. It only lasts 15 minutes but my god will it suck so much dirt out of your carpet more first then you even new was there. ( it’s disgusting but awesome ) — it’s like the Kirby but with out 200 pounds and ten minutes of prep time. The problem is once you use the vacuum on the high setting you never wanna go back down because it doesn’t work nearly as well yes it will pick up all the dirt you can see but after picking up all the dirt can’t see you just simply can’t ever use the regular setting again maybe for someone with hardwood but I have carpet. One thing is after I first bought it I went on a cleaning spree and the next day my elbow hurt and it continued to hurt for almost a month I’m holding the vacuum above my head I think but it’s not the vacuum spot I’m out of shape so I’m not really holding that against it. But be warned I wouldn’t suggest anyone’s grandmother vacuum their blinds or tapestries with it for that reason. Also I definitely suggest purchasing the offbrand stand that goes with it because it just makes it so neat and easy for all of the attachments and riches place over on its stand which also keeps charging. I am however afraid to vacuum up anything nasty or sticky because of the cost of the vacuum and since the filter is reusable I don’t know I’m just worried I vacuumed up wet dog hair once with the Kirby planet has not horrible ever sense so that that kind of bothers me when you pay so much for something you’re hesitant to do certain things with it because you might break it which then overrides the purpose of getting it in the first place but I still like it

My vacuum arrived less than two months ago. It had strong suction, a good assortment of accessories and a good display. I quickly gave up using my built-in vacuum. The battery lasted through most of the house cleaning and the waste compartment was easy to unload. I was totally impressed with the device. Up to about a week ago I would have given it five stars plus. A week ago, the vacuum motor started surging and the display indicated that the filter needed cleaning. The display even had an animation of how to remove the filter and clean it under a faucet. It then showed how to reinstall the filter. I did what I thought the device was telling me to do. I rinsed the filter under the kitchen faucet and shook out the excess water. The filter even shows a faucet on it. After the filter was reinstalled, the motor continued surging and then the vacuum shut off completely. Thinking that maybe the battery needed charging, I put the vacuum on the charger and took out the filter to let dry further. After a couple of days, I reinstalled the filter which was still slightly damp and tried to run the vacuum. It was still dead. The Dyson web site had some suggestions of what to do, which I tried, but to no avail. There was a video that showed how to clean the filter, but it added a step of letting the filter dry for a day before reinstalling. Eventually I contacted Dyson’s customer support. I told her what had happened and she told me the warranty was voided because the machine had got moisture in it. I mentioned that a cell phone can be dropped in water and it will still function. She confided that she had dropped her cell phone in the toilet and it still worked. She said I could buy a battery or take it to the Dyson repair facility 70 miles away. It did not seem like a batty problem to me. I told her I am an electronics engineer and cannot imagine a consumer product that would be that sensitive to moisture. She said I could talk to her supervisor which I said I would like to do. After a pause, she told me that the supervisor was on a phone call and would call me back. It has been 24 hours now and no phone call. My company builds electronic products and they get exposed to rain, snow and many other sources of moisture. If our products failed when they were exposed to moisture, we would be out of business. I though I was following the instructions on the screen. It seems like normal use could expose their electronics to moisture; for example, a wet rug or a small puddle of water in the bathroom or kitchen. The Dyson literature says it is good for pets. Pets can have accidents and if the vacuum goes over a wet spot in a rug, the machine will fail. If exposure to moisture is all it takes to kill the vacuum and void the warranty, then I see major issues with it. Standard coatings can protect the electronics from water and most electronic products have such coatings. The vacuum seems like a great concept, but still in the beta development phase. It just went to market too early without sufficient real-world testing. Incidentally, I looked at the repair facility’s web site and they are closed because of the COVID-19 virus. There is no way to fix my vacuum, so it is a $700 paper weight. I certainly cannot recommend buying one. Update: The supervisor never called back. Dyson did email me and offered a 20% discount for a new main body/cyclone. When I tried to purchase the part, I spent one hour on hold on the phone. After reaching a customer support person, he told me he would call me back if the line dropped. The line dropped and he did not call back. Before the line dropped he said there was no stock on the part, but he would check further. My vacuum remains a paper weight since there is no schedule for the service centers to reopen and apparently Dyson does not stock the part I need.

My partner and I love this vacuum. All of the attachments make it very versatile for use around the house. It does especially a great job on hard floors. I love that it can easily turn into a handheld vacuum which is great for use on stairs and dusting applications. It is not my first choice for thick carpet though as the power doesnt adapt very well so it kind of grabs onto the carpet and becomes difficult to move. My only other complaint is that it is a little bit on the heavy side.

So Ive been using this Dyson V11 Torque Drive Cordless Vacuum Cleaner for a while and these are the pros and cons Ive found with the product. First of all, Ive used a vacuum cleaner that was nearly 100 dollars previously and had to sell it back because the suction power was just too weak. (It was made from China) Now that I’ve got it changed to this Dyson V11 product the difference all I could say is that it is crazy. There is a reason why people were buying this expensive product for a reason. And from this experience I was able to understand why people say expensive products are expensive for a reason. As I was saying, Dyson V11 series at current point has the strongest suction power in the vacuum cleaner market. When you are using this product, you wont feel any worry that this machine wouldnt have the capacity or the sucking power to suck something out from the ground. When I do use it, it even feels as if the vacuum cleaner is sucking the carpet fur itself and not just the dirt, thats how strong it is. In terms of the weight, some people do say females would have a hard time using it for a long time because of its weight. It is partly true, considering that Dyson V11 is not a lightweight compared to other cheap vacuum cleaners I’ve used. But this bit of weight actually brings more stability to cleaning and that’s what I personally felt more positively than the weight being something to worry about. The battery life so far is lasting good and you can change the modes(each mode lists the battery time left on the screen) to your own choice how long and extensive you want to use your Dyson. In the end, to me, this product was not a waste of money but a life lesson why you should buy a good product in the first place for a reason. Because it sure does its job well and Dyson’s warranty system is also trustworthy in this case for future problems.

I use an older Dyson upright and my wife uses a Bissell stick vacuum After one month: NO MORE CORDS! The V11 is light in weight but heavy on convenience and the suction is amazing. My wife has rheumatoid arthritis and I worried how she would be able to use the V11 with the works in the handle. She says it is as easy to use as the stick vac. It is very well balanced. The trigger switch has not been an issue for either of us. Maneuvering the vacuum head is dead easy and so much more convenient than the fixed heads of other vacuums. The vacuum head goes under cabinet overhangs and furniture, something the upright can’t do. The powered brush head does an excellent job on wood floors. Cleaning ceiling air and filter vents is so much more easy. I was skeptical how the V11 would handle the few short pile area rugs but it cleans them just fine. We have not run out of battery power cleaning our 2300 square foot house. The light weight, convenience and powered head means many small jobs go to the Dyson instead of the Dust Buster. Emptying is easy. My one concern is dust accumulation on the inside surfaces of the vacuum. I use an air compressor to blow out the dust accumulation in the innards of the Dyson upright and it is amazing how much there is. I’ve cleaned the V11 the same way and dust accumulation in it is also amazing. I can’t imagine not having an air compressor to clean these vacuums. The most important point I want to reiterate is that the convenience, light weight and maneuverability of the V11 means floors get vacuumed more often! What is the value of convenience, ease of use and good cleaning? Despite the initial cost, this vacuum can handle the jobs as well if not better than our other vacuums but with magnitudes more ease and convenience.

I just sold a year-old Miele C3 to get this and Im glad. The Dyson seems to have better suction power on hardwood and carpet. Its cordless too. That was my biggest gripe about the Miele. Its corded and the cord is SHORT. You had to pay extra for a sensibly-long cord...LOL. Another thing with the Miele is that it rolls on 3 wheels. Id often find it rolling over on its side. Oh, and it used bags too. I didnt bother reading the directions with the Dyson. It was easy to assemble and easy to use. The motorized unit connects to the tube wand and that connects to the actual vacuum attachment that is on the floor. It powers on with one button. Clean-out was just a matter of a simple, physical button as well. The only thing that could be improved is the width of the vacuum attachment so you can clean more area per swoop/glide. That wasnt a deal-breaker for me and Im glad I spent the money on the V11

I actually LOVE vacuuming now. It’s so easy for quick spills or daily tidying. Plenty powerful and cordless to take upstairs, downstairs, and ON THE STAIRS. I do wish the next one will have a larger fill chamber. With two dogs, I have to empty twice, but it IS so quick to change out.

This is far superior than other brands I have tried! After a back injury, I have to have a lightweight vacuum. But other brands just didnt have the suction power, or the ease of use. I have two long-haired dogs, and this picks up fur easily... I use it on my carpets as well as my hard-wood floors. Separate brushes are perfect. Also, perfect attachments for use in my car or in tight places. Thanks so much for this great product. Ive recommended it to friends and family!

I am writing this review from the perspective of someone who is in a wheelchair. I am paralyzed: I have no abdominal support, and my hands are weak—like 50% strength (C7 complete). Ill also mention that my house is carpeted, so that is its primary use. Ill leave performance reviews for others who have done much more testing than me (theres some great resources out there... a surprising number really). Upsides: First, let me say this: if youre in a wheelchair, corded vacuums are out of the question. Theyre heavy, theyre unwieldy, and the cord gets in the way all of the time. Thus, you need a battery-powered vacuum, in which case youre probably getting a lightweight stick vacuum. Stick vacuums are your best option if youre in a wheelchair. Theres no cord to get in your way, and theyre light enough to where you can just vacuum with one hand and maneuver yourself with the other. Maintenance is not an issue: its easy to empty the waste receptacle, and its easy to clean the filter. When it comes to using the extension stick or leaving it off, I actually find its easier to attach the power head directly to the vacuum and just lean over/forward to vacuum. This is an option that the Dyson V11 gives you, which other non-adjustable vacuums do not. If youre low to the ground (perhaps because youre short or because youre in a wheelchair) then you might not want all that extra length of the stick attachment, since it forces the head to protrude too far forward, which hurts leverage and becomes unwieldy. In contrast, if you live with a normal-bodied person who also uses the vacuum, then they probably want the stick on, so its good to have the option to leave the stick on/off when using the power head, which this vacuum offers. Downsides: To keep the weight down, the waste receptacle is quite small. This means youll have to empty it frequently. This is a problem inherent with just about all stick vacuums, so its something youll just have to accept. At least you dont have to purchase bags. The dust filter seems to get dirty very quickly (I have a dusty old house with two pets, so your mileage may vary). This is a good thing and a bad thing. On the one hand, its tedious to have to clean the filter so often (like after every full-home vacuuming). On the other hand, its quite effective at filtering dust, which is a good thing (less dust is expelled into the air). Its easy to remove and clean the filter, so no issues there. To use the vacuum, you must hold the button at all times. This is intended to conserve battery power, but it makes using the vacuum more difficult, especially when you have limited hand function like me. Luckily, however, you can buy a button lock from a 3rd party manufacturer for Dyson vacuums. However, itd be nice if they just had a click on/off method instead. -- In sum, Id say a stick vacuum is the best option for someone who is disabled and/or in a wheelchair. This Dyson was very expensive, but I have no buyers remorse. Its very good just on its own merits, and its great for me.

I received this top of the line Dyson vacuum and noted a problem immediately after charging. When I picked it out off the charger, it turned on without pressing the button. Then it worked normally for a few days before it stuck in the on position. We could still use it that way because it turned off when we put it back on the charger. Then, yesterday, it wouldnt run at all because it didnt have any charge. No amount of wiggling would get the charger light to turn on. Research on the Internet indicates that we have a well-known battery housing defect and that Dyson will fix it for free. Unfortunately, Dyson customer service is shut down for the pandemic. So, we cant use our vacuum until the lockdown lifts. When it does, we will have a very good vacuum. REVISED REVIEW: We finally got through to Dyson. They gave us a reference number, told us to take the vacuum and attachment to UPS (who would package it all up), and when we had a tracking number, to send that tracking number back in a reply to the message they sent us. We did this and had a new vacuum cleaner in three days. It works very well. Note: In the review above, I noted that the third problem we had was that it wouldnt charge. It turned out that problem was not the vacuum cleaner. It was the charger itself. The new vacuum cleaner came as a full package and we were able to change out the charger on the wall.
