I am so pleased with this vacuum. It handles well and is so easy to use. The battery lasts a long time as well. I have only once had to switch batteries during a cleaning. The light for the hardwoods is great. You really see so much more dust and pet hair. I have recommended it to friends.

I’ve been using Dyson animal vacuums since they were invented. They do better than any other vacuum in the battle against dog hair from our 3 dogs. But this stick vacuum picks up more dog hair than any plug-in vacuum I’ve ever used. It’s just amazing how much more it picks up. Add to that not having to hassle with a cord, and this thing is just amazing. It’s so effortless to just grab it and vacuum one part of the house everyday. It actually makes vacuuming fun because it just picks up so much stuff so easily.

We owned an V8 Absolute for over 2 years. We decided to upgrade to V11 Animal when we wanted another vacuum cleaner for upstairs. V11 has stronger suction power (185 AW vs 115 AW) and longer battery life. We can vacuum the whole house which is almost 2400 sq ft in one cleaning on auto mode. Although we dont have pets, it does a great job at picking up my wifes long hair. Most importantly, V11 comes with only one cleaner head which will automatically adjust the suction power to different floor types, so you wont need to change the heads between carpets and hardwood floors. Its so much more convenient! The downside is that its bigger and heavier than V8 (6.68 lbs vs 5.8 lbs.) It will be a bit of a challenge for a average size woman to hold with one hand. Because of its in-line design of a long dust bin canister, the V11 with the cleaner head attached will lean forward when placed on the floor. I find it kind of awkward. Last thing I want to mention is that emptying the dust bin is a little messy for the V11 due to the lack of an enclosed lid. You can just close the lid on V8 after emptying it, there wont be dust falling out. But for V11, the whole lid with the opening will get all dusty afterwards. I always wipe it off with a tissue. Overall Im happy with this vacuum cleaner!

I actually LOVE vacuuming now. It’s so easy for quick spills or daily tidying. Plenty powerful and cordless to take upstairs, downstairs, and ON THE STAIRS. I do wish the next one will have a larger fill chamber. With two dogs, I have to empty twice, but it IS so quick to change out.

We were in the market for another cordless vacuum as the other one we had didnt do very well, so we decided to go for the gusto and invest in a higher quality one that we felt would last longer and do better. With that in mind we finally ended up looking at this Dyson model. After reading the reviews from here and elsewhere we look the plunge, although it was initially hard justifying the money we were putting into it. My wife is the skeptic of the family, so for her seeing was believing with this. She headed upstairs to vacuum the entire upstairs, which includes four bedrooms, two closets, and two baths. When she came down with it full of junk this thing had pulled off the floor she was a convert. Her baseline has always been her Rainbow vacuum that she swears by, but after using this and seeing how well it cleans shes now less eager to haul the Rainbow out and lug it around. Given the long battery life of it, and the incredible suction it has, I now frequently use it to do a quick cleaning of the house as I know its sucking up whatever it comes in contact with. Ive been especially impressed with the suction it has and the battery life of it. Ive vacuumed the entire upstairs and downstairs in a 2900 square foot house and still have plenty of battery life left. It obviously uses less battery on the tiles floors we have in the downstairs area and part of the upstairs, but for the carpeted areas it still gives me plenty of time to thoroughly clean them and still have plenty of battery life left. Both of us are totally sold on this vacuum and would happily recommend it to anyone looking for a cordless vacuum that could very well end your need for a lumbering beast like our Rainbow. The cost is not cheap, but in this case I would say you get what you pay for.

PROS: - The suction is as good as our kirby and Oreck 1300. It beats both when you add in its maneuverability. Really impressed. - I thought holding in the switch would be an issue but it isnt at all. Its very light. In fact, its hard to even pick it up without turning it on. - Battery life is amazing. Ive never run it down, even when I did all the hardwood and tile on boost mode. - LOVE Auto mode. Genius. CONS: - I found small particles like litter get spun out from the torque head on tile. So I purchased the V10 soft roller head for hardwood and tile (Note that Auto mode doesnt work with it). - The weight gets to me if I do all the hardwood and tile floors at once, and our house is small (1500sqft w/~60% tile or hardwood). Part of it might be the wheels on the V10 soft roller head move *so* easy I think I expend more energy just keeping it where I want it. Maybe thats why they got rid of it on the V11. I dont have an issue with the weight when using the torque head on carpet. - I dont like the brush attachments on the dyson. The bristles are just one row and have large gaps which lets a lot of air escape, significantly reducing the suction. I was surprised at this. I looked for aftermarket brushes but they just copy the dyson design. Luckily one of my old brush heads fit. - This is so convenient I find that I vacuum more often A tip I found for rugs - put it in Eco mode and open the vent in the torque head (red switch). Then it doesnt pull the rug up into the torque head. That works just as well as the soft roller.

I bought this to see if I liked it enough to keep it, and in the end I did keep it, but here are the things I learned. First, my house is 2700 square feet with lots of steps. It’s also about 50% carpet and the other half hard wood or tile. I did most of the house in one full charge. I usually do half the house at a time anyway so the battery life is great. It took about 50 minutes for it to die (again doing carpets) so I’ve felt like the battery lasts as long if not longer than advertised. Also, I have 2 dogs so pet hair is everywhere. It works well to get the hair out of the carpet. We’ve only ever had cheaper dirt devils before so I don’t have much to compare to, but the suction was fine. I wasn’t blown away by it but have not noticed a difference which is impressive for a cordless vacuum. I saw a few people comment on the weight of it and it tiring out your forearms. I noticed the same thing especially while doing stairs. But it works great for stairs overall. The end is significantly smaller than most vacuums so doing a large living room takes a lot longer and feels sort of annoying. For me this is a worthwhile trade since I can get under and around more things now. One annoying piece is the stand that hangs on the wall. It has two spots to hang attachments and then there is a piece that clips to the vacuum for two attachments. It comes with 4 attachments but the stairs attachment doesn’t fit on either one so it has to be stored separately. Would be great if they could design a way to clip that in as well. I also read someone else’s review saying this rips off the wall. I screwed to a stud to be safe so it may be worth thinking about that when installing. Larger anchors could fix that as well if you don’t have a stud where you want this. Lastly the price...I’m keeping it so I guess that means I think it’s worth it. But I really am annoyed it costs so much. That is the biggest thing that keeps me from recommending it because I know a lot of people that just can’t afford to pay that much for a vacuum.

Absolutely loving it.This is my third Dyson vacuum, two uprights and this cordless. You are getting an upright, which is lighter, cordfree, easier to manuever, quieter, has more suction, and can get to places the uprights couldnt. You are also getting a handheld you can use in the car, unencumbered by a cord, which is also terrific for quick cleanups and dusting around the house.Throw in the handy docking station which keeps the vacuum constantly charged, while also keeping it stowed, and you have the perfect cleaning tool. This is an actuaI 2 in 1 vacuum, unlike the upright canister vacuum which is a chore to use when using attachments because of the unwieldy hose.I am interested in the technology that goes into such a tool,as well as its ability to clean my house, and this is as good as it gets.Would I have ever thought I would ever spend this much on a vacuum,no,but I am glad I did and it is well worth the money. And the fact that Amazon allowed me to purchase this vacuum over 5 months interest free, makes this purchase a no brainer and just shows how Amazon stays ahead of its competition with incentives such as this.Highly recommended. As a footnote, when purchasing this vacuum, the serial number is visible on the outside of the box. Before you break the seal and it becomes a used vacuum, register the vacuum before ever opening the box and breaking the seal.Once Dyson confirms your warranty, which was almost instantaneous, then go ahead and unbox, that way if there is a warranty problem, the vacuum remains a brand new, unopened item which can be easily returned.
