Added comments first - Nov. 19th 2022 - Well, it is printing and doing well - the trial chess rook printed 1st try and is smooth and I am pleased with it. Had some issues figuring out the software to slice the .stl files & get a new part printing - my fellow Engineer in Illinois explained and walked me through it. I finally decided that getting the bugs out and figuring out things from youtube & twitter is a gig part of becoming a 3D printer, so I am enjoying the ride at this point. older posts Done with setup and will TRY to print next week. BUT the usb plug-in air purifier they included does not work at all but instead of hassling with Elegoo & Amazon I just ordered a pair of the battery powered ones - another $25! Trying to deal with Elegoo seems to be a waste of time, and their site is a mix of Englicsh and Chinese so - - - no joy! I dont think that when yu email them that they really understand English so . . . . thank goodness for a friend with a similar printer and a good user community on Twitter!!!! The diagnostic display seemed to work oh=k so I am PRAYING that when I push the button it actually prints! . . . . . . . . . . . . . BUY FOR DRAMA & COMEDY - DONT KNOW YET ABOUT BEING ABLE TO PRINT THINGS! So I ordered it, paid $550 for it, and got it. I checked the contents against the parts list and it was all there. So I threw away the box. Then the setup instructions call for a leveling card that is not there. This card was NOT listed in the parts list. So I contact Elegoo. They say that I dont need the card. Then they say they will send me one from China - because the instructions say that to set it up correctly that I need it. If I agree to pay an unknown amount of DUTY Which they (the people who left the card out of the box) will reimburse me later By paypal where I have no account. So I dont know if I will EVER get this card. So I dont know if I will ever be able to pint parts. I am referring to theiir Customer Support as the Elegoo Comedy Team going forward.

I got my Saturn after owning a smaller format resin printer for a while first. Admittedly, there was a learning curve for the larger format printing, but once I got it tuned in - I have been blown away by every print that comes off the machine. Now let me take a moment to point out another amazing feature of this machine - the customer support of the company, Elegoo. I had some technical issues while I was getting everything running, and I contacted their customer support for assistance. I was weary, as I figured a company based in China is not going to be of much assistance to me... was I ever wrong! The customer support is AMAZING, and they are so wonderful, nice and helpful in email. After some exchanged messages, they troubleshot my issue and mailed me out a replacement part right away. They made the process so painless, and I could not have been happier!! Kudos to Elegoo!

This is the first 3d printer I have owned due to the quality of prints I have seen from friends FDM printers. This surpassed my expectations greatly. The resolution of the prints is possibly smaller than a human hair and no layers to be seen. The instructions could use some work. DO NOT PRINT THE ROOK from the usb drive without first putting it into chitubox. It needs supports that will raise it off the printing platform. You also HAVE TO setup a profile in chitubox for the Saturn for bottom exposure and other settings. Failure to do this will give you a nice looking rook that is completely stuck to the build platform. One of the main costs of printing is the IPA, which you will need to clean the uncured resin off the print. After about 10 large size prints, 7 liters of IPA was cloudy. I wipe the platform and spray the model clean before putting it in the Mercury tank now. The standard resin is very brittle and not suited for mechanical parts.

I was deciding between this and a Sonic Mighty 4k to supplement my Sonic Mini 4k to do some bigger models. What sold me on the Saturn vs. the Sonic Mighty was: 1. Build quality - This unit feel solid. The arm isnt going to flex while under heavy load. I LOVE that the var has pegs on the bottom so that I can put it on the table without the FEP touching the surface. I also like that one corner has a spout for pouring out resin. On my Sonic Mini it does not have one, and it makes a mess when Im straining the resin. 2. Support - I heard good things about Elegoos support before I bought it, and it is true. I had to reach out to them over an issue I had, and they have been very responsive and helpful. 3. Looks - This isnt important to printing at all, but I do think the Saturn looks cooler with the red cover than the yellow one of the Mighty, though that is subjective. I cant speak to the print quality too much yet, so far Im happy, but Im using a new resin, their ABS Like, which I havent used before, so Im still trying to get it dialed in perfectly. Ive been happy with my test prints so far. Ill try and remember to update the review once I have more to say on that.

The Elegoo Saturn is an incredible machine. I’ve got one from the first release batch and I’ve been printing quite a bit with it. It’s a true workhorse and I’ve not had any significant issues. Additionally when reaching out to Elegoo they were quick to resolve things. I originally got a smaller build plate with my printer, which was working fine size-wise but started to not lock properly anymore and quickly became unlevel. Elegoo was very responsive and sent me a new build plate free of charge. This is a great product from a great company that really stands behind their product!

This printer has been doing a fantastic job of printing models both large and small for my dungeons & dragons campaign. I have been using Elegoos water washable gray resin as well as a 3rd party water washable translucent resin and for both types the detail level has been fantastic. Setup out of the box was super easy and very plug-and-play. I had the build plate leveled and the test print going in minutes. Printing a file, or set of files, either via the touchscreen or via chituboxs network sending was very straight forward and easy to execute. Overall I am incredibly happy with my purchase and couldnt be happier with the ease of use as this is my first time using a resin printer.

My elegoo Mars and Saturn have been running almost constantly with no dip in quality. I print accessories and props for my costumes, this printer has save me so much time in finishing and sanding. I have also used it to print minis for DND. It’s really fantastic!

I design and print items for model railroading vehicles. I have had 7 Elegoo printers and loved them all. Resin printing requires more support equipment than FDM printers and has other considerations, so I suggest beginners do some research before using resin printers. My experience with Elegoo support has been very good and they are known for great customer support.

So easy to use! Such great customer service! Never have I seen a company that not only backs its product, but also supports the customer even if its the customers fault. I will be purchasing all my printers and supplies solely from elegoo. Thank you elegoo and especially Kun Lee with technical support!
