The video and audio controls are right above the device handle, which makes them disable/enable audio and video inadvertently which is very annoying. The audio/video controls are tiny and won’t really give any tactile sense when operated, as mentioned by my parents

Greater than one weekAlexa app keeps giving connection error. No-way to conatct support and phone calling doesnt work as expected either.

07-06-2025I bought this product, because I would like to be near to my family. The product serves its purpose. In my opinion, it has good speakers, microphone and screen quality, but the apps are very limited and the interface could be better. I’ve been using over two months and no technical issues show up until now. Hope they try to improve this product software, because I believe that it has potential to be a great product.

> 3 dayWhen I spoke with people at the store it was my understanding that I would be able to hook and connect up with my existing Amazon speakers throughout the house. So far that doesn’t seem to work otherwise it’s a great product.

> 3 dayWe have grandkids in other states and call frequently. Its like being in the same room and interacting with them. I bought this for my husband for Fathers day and he is crazy about it. We listened to music on it last night. Its so handy for weather updates also.

> 3 dayI kinda really liked the portal in a way but in another way I find it not very functionable and it doesn’t leave your picture on for very long I find that you have to really go in several times to get it started plug it in unplug and plug it in and unplug it I paid such a lot of money for something that I can’t even use and I’m really really disappointed with it I’ve called Customer Service and asked him about it about the portal why doesn’t the picture all the time stay on and they told me that I needed to go in and take care of it with the settings which I’ve tried to do but it doesn’t seem to work so right now I am very very disappointed and I do not recommend it hopefully when they make a new one it will be better I’m out $195 for something that doesn’t even work and it really really disappoints me I wish that I could get a refund and it would be greatly appreciated I’ll even send the portal back I still have the original box and everything if someone could reach out to me that would be great my name is Tammy Cavers I purchased this item in January 2022

> 3 dayMy two sons and their in-laws all have one, so we got one for Christmas. We put it on a shelf in a bookcase facing the big couch in our family room. What a simple, wonderful way to see, hear and visit with family ... especially grandkids ... more often! And so simple to use ... Just touch the image of the person you wish to see and chat with, or just tell Alexa to call so-and-so! Fantastic picture and sound quality. And the camera follows you if you need to move around the toom. Theres more ... you csn load it with family photos. This is truly a must hav ed item! We love it!

> 3 dayThe device functionality is actually pretty cool, when it works. But be prepared - it’s terrible in a mid-range WiFi area. You basically need it to sit right next to your router, which limits where you can actually use it. We placed ours in our kitchen, only one room away from our office where the router is, and all day long kept hearing pulsing sounds from the Portal as it disconnected and reconnected to the network. At first, Portal’s customer service was responsive and helpful, until I sent them a video of the problem and they handed me to one of the “technical experts” who basically repeated the same troubleshooting process as their frontline staff. Subpar product with subpar customer service. Wouldn’t buy again.
