Very lightweight and feels nice, almost velvety in texture. It stays put and doesnt slide around at all. The light is almost too bright at first. I bought so I could read at night without disturbing my husband and 2 year old who sometimes sleeps in our bed, but its so bright it almost lights up the bedroom as much as my bedside lamp. I find myself trying to angle my Kindle so that the light isnt shining in anyones eyes. But it slowly fades, so that after an hour or so of reading, I have to turn it up to the high setting to keep the bottom of my screen lit. It also eats batteries and Im a heavy reader, so its not practical to use every night. Ive gone back to using my bedside lamp most of the time. I still like it for camping, power outages, reading away from home, etc. But its the best ereader light Ive found.

I used to have the case with the built in light that ran off my kindle battery. LOVED it. Unfortunately couldnt find another one once it died. I bought a different light (Mighty bright) and it was mighty awful. The light from my tv gave me more light than that thing did. I bought this one to replace it. I was in love as soon as I turned it on. It is bright enough and dont have any angle problems because you clip it on to the top. The light has two light settings, I find the lower one works just fine for me. Now I can happily read in my bed at night without having to get up and turn the overhead light on/off! Love it. Highly recommend this light.

The Kandle looks like it was designed by Kindle as the graphite finish is perfect. I find the light easy to turn on and off. Other manufacturers tend to think tiny off/on buttons are better-I do not. The light doesnt glare. I have tried three other lights and they do not fit the bare Kindle without touching the screen. This one doesnt fit perfect, but is the best for the Kindle if you dont want the weight of a cover to support the light. Kandle is five dollars more than the other products I tried, and it is well worth the difference.I was even happier purchasing it when I found Ozeri is made in America. I purchased this through Amazon.

I purchased this product to use while reading in bed with my Kindle Touch. Simply said, it does exactly what I needed. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars is the unevenness of the page coverage. The bottom of the page is slightly dimmer than the top. This is a very minor complaint however, and doesnt affect the ability to read. I also like the compactness of the Kandle. Seems a much better solution than the products that use unwieldly gooseneck lamps.

I was really surprised after receiving the Kandle II on their attention to quality and detail. The packaging was really well done. They provide a little tool, an extra set of batteries, and a nice carrying case for the device. I was concerned when I saw it online that any light attached to my Kindle would cause a significant weight burden and make holding my device less comfortable. I dont know what materials this Kandle is made out of, but it is LIGHT. I have no issues attaching it and reading on my Kindle. The other thing is that it provides nice little felt like protection on the grip so there are no scratches onto the Kindle. The 2 light settings are interesting. I read with either one depending on my eyes sensitivity to light. There is a light drop off which is to be expected, but I am able to read perfectly fine. I really like the device and strongly recommend it to anyone who wants to read when its dark. Also the graphite color matches my Kindle.

Overall I am happy with my Kandle II. As other reviewers have commented it is a little wobbly when you clip it on so you can still see the screen, and the light does fade a tiny bit near the bottom of the screen. However, neither of these things bother me much and I am enjoying being able to read at night without bothering my husband. Overall I am pleased with it and glad I purchased it! Updated to add: I was contacted by Ozeri and for my positive feedback, I was sent 4 extra sets of batteries for my Kandle II. I have since used all these batteries. I read about an hour at a time with the Kandle set on the low setting and am replacing batteries every 2 weeks or less. I wish I had known it was going to go thru batteries so quickly, makes it a bit more expensive now that I know that.

As the owner of two older kindles which dont have lights (2nd and 3rd generation) I was really excited to try this product. The overall design and build quality is excellent and I dont have the issue with the batteries that some do. Unfortunately, there are three major drawbacks. 1. This thing is bright. Too bright for reading in a dark room or plane when others are near by. This was my largest disappointment. The levels of light arent very adjustable and even on its lowest setting the light spreads all over the place. Sure, it is great to have the ereader illuminated, but it feels like half the room is also illuminated. If you are next to another person, it could be quite distracting. Ive attached a photo of a Kandle as the only light in the room. 2. The arm doesnt stay up in the middle position. The brightness and spread could probably be manageable if the arm would stay in the middle positions. Instead, it very slowly closes as if on a spring load and then the light shuts off. This is a very nicely dampened action, so slow that you might not notice it is happening until half the reader is no longer illuminated. It is possible that I have a defective unit, but the slow close action leads me to believe it is intentional. 3. Size. The Kandle II is big compared to the reader. Much larger than I expected. Its 2/3 the width of my 3rd gen kindle. This is probably only a minor complaint. It would be awesome if it were smaller, but... Hopefully, these comments make it into the product development lifecycle. Aside from these three complaints, it is a really well done product and hopefully the Kandle III will be even better!

I bought this to use with my 2nd generation Kindle. I think it is a lot nicer than those goose neck reading lights. The Kandle snaps securely on the device and doesnt seem invasive like the other light I have. I know that sounds odd, but Im sure theres someone who knows what Im talking about :-) The Kandle conforms to the shape of the Kindle, its relatively flat, the adjustable lamp stays in place and shines down the page. It isnt as bright towards the bottom, but thats to be expected. The Kandle burns through batteries so pick up a package of batteries if you get this.

I purchased this reading light for several reasons all of which were fulfilled by the Kandle. First, I wanted something on the smaller size that would not be hard to travel with or store away. I also wanted a product that did not have a long neck that I would have to constantly adjust. Both of these were accomplished... The Kandle came with a second set of batteries which is a nice bonus, the price was right and the light PERFECTLY illuminates the page or screen that you are reading from. In addition to the lighting itself, this devise is almost weightless which is a huge plus that I didnt even consider when purchasing a light... Buy it now, your night time/low light reading can finally start off the right way....

I was very hesitant on buying a little light for the price, but am very satisfied. It is very lightweight and I like that it doesnt weigh my Kindle down when firmly attached. The different light settings are great!! The low setting is very useful for cloudy days and the highest setting works great while reading in bed. It comes with a nice little pouch to hold the Kandle when not in use and still has room for extra batteries and the little screwdriver. The only downfall is the positioning of the on/off switch as it is a little difficult to turn on when attached to the Kindle. I would recommend this light to anybody looking for a nice, high quality light.
