I really like the design of this booklight. I had one of the bendy booklights before and it made the kindle harder to hold with one hand and I was constantly readjusting the position. This one provides more light and feels more stable. I would give it five stars except the batteries that came with the light didnt even last me an entire book. The light did come with replacement batteries which I have now used. Im worried that they will burn out when Im on vacation or something so Im going to order more. Im a little frusterated that Im already ordering batteries when Ive only had this item for a week and a half and havent even made it through an entire novel with it.

I just got my Kandle to go with my Kindle 3. And for the most part, I think it is just great. - I love how perfectly it matches my graphite Kindle. How wonderful to have an accessory that looks like an accessory, not an afterthought. - I am pleased at how lightweight it is. It adds very little weight to the Kindle and that becomes important on those just one more page reading marathons - For me, the brighter the better. I personally have low vision issues, and to combine the very brightest setting on the Kandle with flexible font size on the Kindle means I can read with ease on all but my worst days. - I have tried other reading lights, although not ones marketed specifically for the Kindle and have been less than satisfied - they were too big, too heavy, too inflexible, just too bad. The Kandle seems just right, the right weight, the right color, the right size etc. - I was especially pleased to find replacement batteries and its own little screwdriver! keeping all this together in the little bag means I will not need to search the house over for an appropriate screwdriver to use! The only thing so far that I wish were a bit different is that when it is clipped onto my Kindle, and pushed down securely, it does obstruct the top line of text a bit, so I find myself gingerly clipping it on and gently sliding it up enough to see all the text on the screen without knocking the Kandle off completely. In glancing through some of the other users reviews, I do not think I am alone in this. This little light is going to make reading when traveling much easier no matter the lighting (or lack therefor) in hotel rooms, campgrounds and so forth.

I enjoy having the light for the Kindle. Im spoiled with my other reader which has a back-light. This Kindle was a win from a website so I didnt get a chance to pick the one I wanted. However, the only complaints I have are these: (1) It is a bit hard to keep settled on my Kindle, and (2) the batteries burn out very quickly. I read more than most people--sometimes all night long. That means my batteries run out much to quickly. It seems the batteries fade quickly. I handled this by ordering a bunch of batteries (25) but it takes 2 to power the light. Otherwise, its so great to be able to read in the dark!

I was a little apprehensive on getting this light after reading other reviews. 2 things that were mentioned on other reviews, screw driver needed for battery change and the light could be accidently left on when closed. Well I suppose the manufacturer listened and rectified those issues as the one I received had a twist off battery lid (no screwdriver needed) and the light automatically goes off when closed and you cannot accidently turn the light on when closed! It was awesome for a short (4 days) hospital stay and also in bed at home (wife doesnt complain that the lamp is keeping her up.

I got this for my husband as a small Valentines gift, because his very favorite past-time is reading on his Kindle Touch. Unfortunately, the one we initially received only worked intermittently, so had to be returned, but was replaced with one that works great. My husband is very pleased with the light. The beam has two settings, and covers the full width of his Kindle, as well as the full length. Its a very even light, not hot in some spots and cool in others, but consistent across the screen of the Kindle, only getting just a little lighter at the very bottom, but still quite readable even then. No more eye strain, and he can now read anywhere under pretty much any circumstances.

i bought this because i wanted to read my kindle in bed after my wife had gone to sleep. i chose the kandle because the reviews were generally positive and it seemed like a better engineered product than some of the other cheaper lights. pros: -definitely bright enough -attachment to the kindle device is secure and well designed cons: -i found the lowest brightness level too bright. on the lower brightness level, the extra light thrown off by the kandle is enough to bother my sleeping wife. -(major frustration) the circular battery door/cover must be unscrewed to access the battery. the door and the base have triangular marks that line up and there is a label that says Open. the crazy thing is that when the marks are lined up, the door is actually closed. to get the door off, you have to make sure that the open marks are *not* aligned. it was really frustrating getting the little cover off and i damaged the plastic on the back. all in all, i think i would have rather put the money spent on this thing towards a new paperwhite.

I used to have the case with the built in light that ran off my kindle battery. LOVED it. Unfortunately couldnt find another one once it died. I bought a different light (Mighty bright) and it was mighty awful. The light from my tv gave me more light than that thing did. I bought this one to replace it. I was in love as soon as I turned it on. It is bright enough and dont have any angle problems because you clip it on to the top. The light has two light settings, I find the lower one works just fine for me. Now I can happily read in my bed at night without having to get up and turn the overhead light on/off! Love it. Highly recommend this light.

This little Kandle gives off great light and the battery lasts for quite a while. My only complaints are about the design. It is very easy to accidentally turn the light on when moving it around. The on button is in the same place you put your fingers to squeeze open the clip. In addition, it is difficult to access the compartment to change the batteries. Otherwise, I would have given the Kandle 5 stars.

I just received my Kandle II in the mail. I used it the first night and was satisfied. I was kind of mislead that there were three settings when off counts as a setting. I did not notice a huge difference between the two light modes. However,I was surprised at how small and compact the Kandle II is and how nicely it.fits on top of the Kindle. It does not really get in the way of reading. I only wish that the Kandle II would fit better when the M-Edge Executive cover is closed. Over all it does do the job though.

I found that this product has several annoying design defects which could have been easily avoided. Its impossible to adjust the light so that it illuminates the page evenly. Consequently, when attached to the top of the Kindle it is difficult to read the bottom of the page. If you try to adjust the clip to better illuminate the bottom of the page, the clip will cover the print at the top of the page. A slightly longer neck would ameliorate this problem. The placement of the push button on/off switch is also a problem. Its all too easy to inadvertently turn the unit on while its in the closed position. When it is closed, its difficult to notice that the unit is turned on. This can be particularly problematic if you use it while traveling and stick it in your bag with your computer/phone accessories. I went through one set of batteries the first week because of this. A slightly recessed sliding switch would avoid this problem or better yet, have the unit turn on when you open it and turn off when you close it. It should also be noted that replacing the batteries requires its own screwdriver, so if you dont make a point of taking it with you when you travel, you may be out of luck.
