> 3 dayI really like the design of this booklight. I had one of the bendy booklights before and it made the kindle harder to hold with one hand and I was constantly readjusting the position. This one provides more light and feels more stable. I would give it five stars except the batteries that came with the light didnt even last me an entire book. The light did come with replacement batteries which I have now used. Im worried that they will burn out when Im on vacation or something so Im going to order more. Im a little frusterated that Im already ordering batteries when Ive only had this item for a week and a half and havent even made it through an entire novel with it.

> 3 dayHi, Ive only had this light for two nights now. First night I turned it on, and absolutely LOVED it. I have the original Kandle, and feel the new design lights MUCH better. Ive read the reviews regarding the clip, and I think it works as well as the original...you just have to be careful how you place it. Im not moving much when Im using the light, so having it pop off was not a concern. I was complete in love with this light. So, I read awhile, turned the light off, closed it, and went to sleep... Fast forward to night two...I grab my Kindle (with light still attached), cozy up under the covers, open up the light (and this is where my one of my two disappointments was found)...the light was on, and had been since the night before. Seems the on off switch is exactly where I push the light to close it. Being tired, I didnt realize I had turned the light BACK ON the night before when I was closing the light. Needless to say, the batteries dont like to run 24 hours straight and then work real well, so I didnt get much reading in that second night. This morning I go to change the batteries (which, very nicely, Ozeri includes a replacement set, along with a little phillips screwdriver, with the purchase), and discovered the second disappointment. The cover for the battery compartment is partially obscured by the clip. Easy enough to unscrew, but removing it and replacing that once the new batteries are in was a little tricky for my old lady fat fingers... But, I managed to get the batteries changed, it lights wonderfully again, and tonight when I turn it off I will make SURE I turn it off. Once I get used to problem 1, problem 2 wont come into play so much. Therefore, over all excellent product that I would purchase again if I lost this one...

> 3 dayI was a little apprehensive on getting this light after reading other reviews. 2 things that were mentioned on other reviews, screw driver needed for battery change and the light could be accidently left on when closed. Well I suppose the manufacturer listened and rectified those issues as the one I received had a twist off battery lid (no screwdriver needed) and the light automatically goes off when closed and you cannot accidently turn the light on when closed! It was awesome for a short (4 days) hospital stay and also in bed at home (wife doesnt complain that the lamp is keeping her up.

> 3 dayI too was initially disappointed in this light as after about 5 minutes the light would fade and I had to work on getting additional lighting in order to see my book. I decided to replace the batteries that came with the light and now it works great. No fading in over a week and I can use it alone in the dark now and read just fine - the whole page and not disturb my husbands sleeping! Would rather not have a push button to turn it on and off as it can accidently be turned on in my purse, etc. I purchased this with the addl 25 batteries for $3.95 another great buy as I use these batteries in alot of my electronics.

> 3 dayI found that this product has several annoying design defects which could have been easily avoided. Its impossible to adjust the light so that it illuminates the page evenly. Consequently, when attached to the top of the Kindle it is difficult to read the bottom of the page. If you try to adjust the clip to better illuminate the bottom of the page, the clip will cover the print at the top of the page. A slightly longer neck would ameliorate this problem. The placement of the push button on/off switch is also a problem. Its all too easy to inadvertently turn the unit on while its in the closed position. When it is closed, its difficult to notice that the unit is turned on. This can be particularly problematic if you use it while traveling and stick it in your bag with your computer/phone accessories. I went through one set of batteries the first week because of this. A slightly recessed sliding switch would avoid this problem or better yet, have the unit turn on when you open it and turn off when you close it. It should also be noted that replacing the batteries requires its own screwdriver, so if you dont make a point of taking it with you when you travel, you may be out of luck.

Greater than one weekOzeri sends you an email, before the Kandle arrives, asking you not to post a review, if you are not satisfied, without talking to them first. Having tried to use the light, I can well understand that theyd be a bit worried about uncensored reviews. I was replacing a Mighty Bright, which, when used without a Kindle cover of some sort, has an irritating habit of simply slipping off the Kindle. No such problem with the Kandle. Although you cant clip it down far enough to feel it is really stable, without obscuring the Kindle screen, a friction pad does in fact prevent it from sliding off. But that wont be enough to prevent you from being only too happy to remove it yourself. The arm with the lighting is not long enough, nor are there any available angles, nor are the bulbs bright enough, to sufficiently illuminate the entire Kindle screen. The top third will be acceptably lit, the next third, barely well enough, and the bottom third will have you straining. And you will be unable to see the keyboard - did they simply forget you might want to see the whole screen, or type for searches or notes? And brightness? Not in this lamp. Aside from not being adjustable to an angle to cover the whole Kindle, this lamp is perhaps one-third as bright as the Mighty Bright (yes, on high). All in all, this lamp is the first good argument Ive seen so far for the Kindle having its own back-lighting, like an iPad or Nook (just a joke - of course that wouldnt work for e-ink). With this lamp, you WILL be able to read your Kindle in bright sunlight! Youd be better off, I suspect, simply igniting your $25 and reading by the glow.

> 3 dayNot much more to say that others havent said. Its smaller then you might think when compared to the photos on this site, and thats a positive in my view. I have it clipped on the top of my basic model Kindle. It provides more then enough light using just the low-level light setting. You can easily switch back and forth from high to low if necessary. You can read in total darkness without waking your spouse. It bevels up/down to eliminate any glare issues. And the coolest part for me is this; it makes reading more fun. From suspenseful to scary books, it helps create a nice reading atmosphere. For $20 buy it, I seriously doubt youll have any regrets.

Greater than one weekI looked around and tried several lights for my new ST Nook before finding the Kandle II. This was the best one I have tried for it. It compliments the small and light weight scale of the Nook and stays on great. The illumination does fade out a little towards the bottom of the screen but not enough to give it much points off. I rated all the attributes as 5 except for the brightness, which I gave a 4. As much as I like the Mighty Bright Ultraflex 2 light I have, and used with the Nook 3G, it is too awkward to use with the ST Nook. This Kandle II fits the bill. I recommend it!

Greater than one weekThis is a terrific product. It lights up the whole screen, its so easily adjustable and theres virtually no glare. And theres no light on a pole that you have to move out of the way. I also discovered that it makes a handy little flashlight if youre looking for the bathroom in a strange house. Im very pleased with this purchase and I love the extra batteries and the little carrying case too! It seems to be very sturdy and the price was more than reasonable. Its a great value for the money. I took off one star (would have only taken a half if I could) because it could use a little more tension on the clamp. It didnt fall off for me, but it did move around and slide down onto the very top of the reading surface a few times. There was no real inconvenience here, just a little anxiety that it would fall off if I moved too fast. Update: After going back and reading some other reviews, Id like to clarify a few things. I paid $19.95 for this light, not the $39.99 price listed, so I found it to be a good bargain. Id also like to point out that some of the cons mentioned in other reviews have been fixed on the one I have. A screwdriver is no longer required (or provided) for changing the batteries and the the light shuts off automatically now when the unit is closed. This tells me that the manufacturer is paying attention and sincerely dedicated to producing a quality product. For that reason, Ive updated this to five stars.

> 3 dayI have not tried another so I have nothing to to compare it with but 5 star it is not. A $20 flashlight, really? I own a kindle paperwhite and bought this for my wifes old original kindle. It would have been an better investment to buy her a paperwhite and transfer her library to it. It works OK except when reading in a totally dark room towards the last line or two at the bottom of the screen; especially noticeable when using the dictionary feature with its tiny font. It has two brightness settings but the 2nd one disturbs my spouse. The spring clip is very strong but the slick pads against the slick case of the kindle makes for a slippery connection and it moves about with little prodding. Where it shines (no pun intended) is when reading in a dimly lit room.
