Kuretake Gansai Tambi Watercolors, 48 Colors

I am happy that I finally pulled the trigger and purchased these for myself. No fuss about what colors to mix to make this or that, these were my started set and Ive been enjoying them for the past few weeks. The colors are vibrant and the paint is easy to use. Im pleased with my purchase.

These are lovely. This palette will last me a very long time. You get what you give with these paints. LOVE.

Black Paper: I got this set specifically bc it is advertised for use on black paper. (See attached photos.) For the test, the brush was loaded and first used on black paper with the remaining color used on white swatch page. Only 1 load & coat applied on both swatches. The darker colors could possibly be built up in layers to become more prominent. General: Colors are nice, quick to load with little water, dry very close to the pan color, most easily opaque or washed, leaves fewer dry lines than other brands & the 46pk has a wide selection including a few metallics. I especially like the numbers on bottom to keep everything organized. Cons: my box arrived terribly warped & wont lay flat causing storage problems. Some colors are easier to lighten than others. While it advertises it doesnt leave a dry line, some colors do.

I haven’t used this yet, but I’m on my second delivery of this. The first order several of the paints were broken. On the second order, the pink one was broken. I have no idea whether or not it’s something intrinsic in the paint or the delivery process, but it’s frustrating.

OMG! These watercolors are excellent; they are easy to use and they adhere to the different papers very well. An excellent buy.

Oh my gosh I dropped the box a couple of inches and the entire set cracked up and moved around in the box. I don’t see how I can use these in studio. So brittle!!!!

I like the large assortment of colors. I used this for my illustrations.

The colors and package it comes in is so beautiful! It has a subtle stinky smell when the paints are wet but goes away when dry. You get so many lovely colors and a lot of paint. These have very large paint wells which I like and they are loose to you can replace them too. I would recommend!

Awesome creamy bright colors. Not as translucent as regular water colors. These are awesome.

Nice saturation with this set.
