> 3 dayGreat monitor for my M1 MacBook Air. My only (slight) issue is how the internal usb hub works. The ports on the back of the monitor only provide usb2 speeds when using a usb-c cable to connect to the monitor. Not a huge deal if you just plan on plugging in a mouse/keyboard, but external storage is painfully slow. Another problem using external storage on the built in hub, is that when the monitor comes out of standby (but not going into standby), it momentarily disconnects from your laptop. If you had external storage connected to the monitor when it went into sleep mode, it will forcefully eject your storage volume when the display wake up.

> 3 dayOk - Ive been working from home for over a year now, so I decided to upgrade my 24 inch BenQ monitor. What a huge improvement - doubled vertical resolution. Makes my job much more enjoyable. Night and day eye comfort. Great investment. No game play; just work. I noticed what others have commented about regarding getting too big a monitor. This one is probably at the upper limit for a work monitor. You occasionally find yourself moving your head around a bit to find things on the screen. With smaller monitors you typically find things via eye movement only. With this size monitor, there is a bit of head movement, not bad, but noticeable - I would not want to go any larger. Again, this is for office / programming work where I have multiple windows open. The adjustable height is a welcome feature. Glare is nicely controlled - no issues. Fonts are very crisp and readable. And the sound is more than adequate for meetings. Others have complained about the joystick control for options selection, but I do not find it a problem whatsoever. Overall - I would highly recommend this for office and programming work.

> 3 dayWriting a review for LG UltraFine 27UN850-W. I have been using it for about 2 weeks. Before this model, I bought LG 27U650-W which was the same price in BestBuy as 27UN850-W here, and when I found out i returned it back because its double more the price in BestBuy. LG 27UN850-W is a very good monitor. It produces nice colors. The 4K resolution is great, it produces crisp fonts, good visibility of icons and overall accurate images. The brightness is very good, up to 350 nits when the brightness is 100%. HDR is not good it produces very sharp edges which do not look good. Contrast is 1000:1 which is ok but its not the best. This monitor cannot compare to 4K or 5K Apple monitors, however it is very close to them. More expensive monitors about $800-$1000 would probably output same image and contrast quality as Apple stuio monitors. I found for me the best image and contrast quality for this monitor on Vivid settings with brightness of 85%. Overall, this monitor is very good for office work, it is also good for photo/video design and I am sure it is very good for gaming which I didnt try yet.

> 3 dayHad it paired with my Mac Studio. Like the color and text, but the back of the monitor looks very cheap. It’s not a pretty white/silver plastic. I end up returning it.

Greater than one weekI purchased this monitor to get more screen real estate for working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Its great to be able to have a Zoom or Teams meeting going, have a document or browser window open, and to be able to keep an eye on my email without having to constantly minimize or move windows around. The image quality is excellent - very sharp and clear with natural looking color. Contrast is also very good, although black levels are not as good as on a higher end modern television or mobile device with an OLED panel. But, you really only notice at night in a darker room. The matte screen also lets me have my home office setup in front of a set of windows without fighting glare. Onscreen text looks great, and the night mode preset that lowers brightness levels and shifts whites to a warmer hue is also nice when working late. Video looks very good, although I havent been able to get Netflix and Amazon to stream to the monitor in 4K. Im using the latest and greatest version of usb-c to connect to a late-model HP laptop. If anyone has troubleshooting tips, let me know. But, non-protected 4k content from sites like YouTube looks great. This monitor doesnt have a high refresh rate by 2020 standards, though, so gamers and people watching live sports might be happier looking elsewhere. The 2-way adjustability of this monitor makes it really comfortable to use for long workdays. The stand is also surprisingly solid and more premium than it looks in the photos. I assumed it would be plastic, but its metal. So, I have no worries about accidentally tipping the monitor off my desk when adjusting the screen. It is also ingeniously simple to assemble without tools or messing with a bunch of little screws. Overall, this is an almost ideal monitor for working from home, and LG seems to have prioritized productivity over entertainment in its design choices, which is great for me. It has a modern, minimalist design compared to a lot of other options with overwrought styling intended to appeal to gamers, which is nice since my office is also our family room. And, IMHO, matte screens are MUCH more pleasant for reading and writing than glossy models. Highly recommended.

> 3 dayThe picture quality is excellent. However, I tried to daisychain this to another monitor and couldnt get it to work. I wish LG had better instructions regarding this. In general, the menu buttons and design could use improvement. Over all, Im sort of happy with it.

> 3 dayMy negative review is only concerns Mac connectivity. The USB-C connection only powered my two Macbooks but the monitor itself was not detected by MacOS at all.

> 3 dayI have tried three different 4k monitors and this one is hands down the only usable one (probably the best under $400). Its totally compatible with my M1 Macbook Pro, and give good use experience when plugged in. Picture quality is really nice and I have nothing to complain about it.

> 3 dayUpdate 8/16/2021: one display has developed two vertical lines of dead pixels after less than a week of use. This was a Warehouse returns, so the fault lies more with Amazon than LG. I purchased a pair of these 27UN850-W displays, and they perform as you would expect from a mid-range IPS display, good color accuracy, wide viewing angle, and no dead pixels on either. For productivity work, these are perfect. 60hz refresh rate isnt going to cut it for high-end gaming although Freesync will help there. Color accuracy isnt going to be sufficient for professional design and video editing. Certified for HDR400, but know that this definitely HDR-light, if you HDR is important to you, look elsewhere. Didnt try the monitor stand, but VESA mounting worked as it should. Left, right, and top margins are about 1/4 so for multi-monitor setups you will have about 1/2 boundary between workspaces. For dual monitor work scenario for documents, GIS, code, and the like, flat panels with a wide viewing angle like these are quite good. For me, these were an excellent value from Amazon Warehouse (Used - Acceptable), where these like-new displays that are missing bonus materials cost under $300. At MSRP of $450, these are a fair price.

> 3 dayIt is required that you use the supplied LG cable, that delivers video and power via USB-C. However, about half the time, the power is not delivered. If that goes unnoticed, you run out of power. To fix, you have to unplug and replug or wiggle the connection to get power. Not a big deal, but annoying given its frequency. This is not a single machine problem. We have 4 of these monitors for different people in the office, all of them have the same problem. Clearly a design issue with the cable.
