> 3 dayUPDATE: April 25, 2021: Running into problems with USB-C cables longer than the supplied LG 12 cable, I decided to try Apples cables, since Apple is well-know for making high quality products. First I tried Apples (thin) 1 meter cheaper USB-C Charge Cable. That cable did not work. Next I tried Apples (thick) 0.8 meter more expensive Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) Cable. That one works fine. I noticed with all the USB-C cables I have tried, the thickness of the cables that work are much thicker than the cables that did not work. Another benefit I was not expecting is that with the good-working thick Apple Thunderbolt 3 (USB-C) cable, all of a sudden my Apple Watch began unlocking my Mac properly. Go figure that one out!! ============================================ This is a wonderful monitor. HOWEVER, if you want to use a USB-C to USB-C cable that is longer than the supplied 12 LG cable, you might not be able to do that: While the supplied 12 LG USB-C cable works fine with my Mac mini M1, I need a longer cable. I tried one of my 3 USB-C cables and it does not work. The Q&A here also shows at least 2 other buyers having the same problem. Thinking it might be a poor quality cable I ordered 2 x 3 Anker USB-C cables: they also did not work. I then tried another of my 3 USB=C cables and it worked. Unfortunately I do not know what brand it is, or where it came from. I just got off the phone with LG support. They could not provide me with a solution for obtaining a USB-C cable that is longer than their supplied 12 USB-C cable. (I am not interested in using an HDMI cable.) LG support repeated told me that any other 3 USB-C cable should work. But clearly not all of them do. I was surprised that even the Anker USB-C 3 cables did not work. LG support also repeated tried to tell me that a *12* monitor cable is the standard length. That, of course, is ridiculous. Its a shame I had to deduct 1 star due to this problem. YMMV Otherwise, again, this is a wonderful monitor.

> 3 dayGreat color and clarity. Connects quickly and easily with my M1 Max Macbook Pro. I knocked off one star because the included USB C cable is pretty short and the monitor doesnt work with anything but the included cables. I tried 2 different USB C cables from Apple and a generic one and neither worked. I called LG and they said they dont make a longer one and that is the only one that works with the monitor. I use 2 of these monitors with my laptop so a longer cable would make it much more convenient to connect the one thats furthest away from the computer.

Greater than one weekSo far I am loving this monitor, for the price this is an excellent display. The 27inch size is perfect for me. Plenty of screen real estate to get work done, the 4K resolution helps as well. Especially when you scale the resolution for more space. The colors in my opinion are very accurate, I can definitely notice some differences from my P3 calibrated MacBook Pro but it very close. I do some minor photo editing and the experience has been great so far. The matte display is also very nice. I’ve used previous monitors with matte displays and this one is noticeably high quality. You don’t see that typical grainy texture that often comes with matte displays. USB-C connectivity is extremely useful, it’s very nice to use one cable for display and power. I have experienced a few times where I noticed the MacBook was not charging but it only happens occasionally. My only complaint is the stand is a little cheap feeling, I wish the whole thing was metal and a little my sturdy. The HDR performance is pretty terrible, I don’t recommend it. When you enable HDR it looks noticeably worse. But the standard display settings out of the box are adequate for most. I would say this monitor is excellent and I would highly recommend it if your looking for a midrange 4K monitor.

> 3 dayPurchased this monitor for my M1 Macbook Air and Xbox Series X. I love being able to connect only one USB C cable to my mac for power and video. The control knob is simple and just works. The monitor has a great port selection but I have not tested the USB hub for transfer speeds with my laptop. The stand feels solid and I like having the monitor up higher so my laptop screen can be open directly beneath. The included cable management clip is cheap but it works well enough. Hopefully, this monitor lasts me for years as Im a big fan. Works great for 4k @60hz on the Xbox Series X.

Greater than one weekThe picture quality is excellent. However, I tried to daisychain this to another monitor and couldnt get it to work. I wish LG had better instructions regarding this. In general, the menu buttons and design could use improvement. Over all, Im sort of happy with it.

> 3 dayWe have an office full of LG 32UN880-B monitors, which were out of stock, so we ordered this one for about the same price. Side by side, this monitor has terrible viewing angles and is far more washed out than our other LG displays. Very disappointed in the quality of this monitor vs other LG HDR monitors.

> 3 dayDCI-P3 98% coverage, brain dead color calibration, 4k, 32in, and the blacks are similar to my va monitors. Checks all the boxes off my list. The refresh rate could be higher but that doesnt matter for my work so this is a 5 stars from me. Nice value from what I can tell.

> 3 dayGot this for my home setup to replace my LG Ultrafine 4K at the office. Figured Id try saving the company a few hundred bucks. When I first hooked this thing up it looked godawful and was ready to put it back in the box and shell out for another Ultrafine. Colors were awful, with brighter colors almost fluorescent and edges looked like someone had run a Photoshop Unsharp Mask over everything on my screen and cranked it up too high. But playing around with some settings, I found an HDR setting that is defaulted on. Turning this off, and then cranking up brightness to 100% and reducing contrast has this now looking about 100% better and almost indistinguishable from my $700 Ultrafine. To a more attuned and calibrated eye, the differences may be more substantial, but my eyes arent bad and I dont require any kind of insane level of color accuracy in my work so I am happy with this monitor, especially considering the cost difference. Also nice to have some standard USB ports on the back as we all know not every peripheral uses USB-C nowadays (and I had to have a couple dongles coming off the back of my Ultrafine) so dare I say I may actually prefer this monitor. The ID is not bad either. The frame is pretty minimal, and the stand doesnt take up too much space. Only consideration I didnt think about was that it doesnt have a built in webcam. So I ended up just picking up a $20 Logitech cam that plugs right into the back and works fine. If youre on the fence, and wondering if you need to spend more for a high end 4k chances are you probably dont.

> 3 dayIt is required that you use the supplied LG cable, that delivers video and power via USB-C. However, about half the time, the power is not delivered. If that goes unnoticed, you run out of power. To fix, you have to unplug and replug or wiggle the connection to get power. Not a big deal, but annoying given its frequency. This is not a single machine problem. We have 4 of these monitors for different people in the office, all of them have the same problem. Clearly a design issue with the cable.

> 3 dayI’ve had this monitor a few weeks. I noticed the disc it came with was not in a sleeve, just loosely thrown in there. It made me think perhaps this was a return, but I can’t be sure because the rest of the items looked to be packaged correctly… I was frustrated at first because the provided USB-C cable didn’t work with my M1 MacBook Pro. I thought I had received a dud. Looked up some troubleshooting options and nothing was working. I packed it up to return. The day I was going to send it back I decided to check online again for any options. I saw a reddit post from that morning where someone said they had to get a new Thunderbolt 3 cable for the monitor to successfully recognize their M1 Mac. I ran to the store to get one and voila! It worked. The cable was $40 which adds to the cost of this thing, but it’s much cheaper than the 5k option (for the 27inch monitor) they sell at the Apple Store. Overall, I’m really happy with it for the price. I love the single-cable life—no dongles needed since my accessories connect to the monitor itself—making switching laptops from work to personal at my desk easy (with a good double laptop holder). I also think it does a good job of waking in sync with the laptop when I press on the keyboard or move the mouse.
