The monitor is great but there is a problem and Im wishing to get a reply from LG on this issue. So I need help. The HDR has the problem of slightly changing brightness while watching a movie on PC or playing a PS4 pro game in HDR, even when Smart Energy Saving is set to off(which is actually grayed out when in HDR mode) So I set it to off when in SDR mode, then I hop into HDR mode again and the option looks to be still off but it is grayed out(As if the HDR is not even considering that option when it is in use). So What exactly is this?. Is this Normal LG?

I do online tutoring for math through calculus and science through AP Chemistry and AP Physics. Between reference sheets, tables, charts, PDF books, the virtual whiteboard, desmos.com, other websites, and personal notes, I need a lot of screen real estate. Hence, I purchased two of these monitors. The base is solid metal. The monitors stay put once adjusted. The clips on the stand keep cables tidy. I also dont have to concern myself with the USB-C cables pulling on the USB-C jacks at odd angles. The picture is beautiful (turn off High Dynamic Range). Conveniently, the USB-C cable powers my MacBook Pro. The MacBook Pro drives the two external monitors, the built-in retina monitor, my peripherals listed below, all the while running video with voice over IP. With all that work, the battery level does not decrease. With a 2 USB port Hub per monitor, I have 4 USB ports for peripheral equipment. My dedicated power supply is unnecessary, so I dont have to pack it every time I leave the house (Ive forgotten it a few times). I have eliminated my USB Hub and still have a USB-C jack free. Ive cleaned up my cable spaghetti mess. My tutoring sessions are much smoother and professional. I am extremely satisfied with the purchase. Dr. Brians Education. Notes on my setup: >> MacBook Pro: 16, 2019, 2.3GHz 8-Core i9, 16GB memory, AMD Radeon Pro 5500M 4GB. >> Apple Support states the laptop will use only one supply at any given time. >> MacBook Pro power supply is rated 95W. >> Peripherals: DasKeyboard (has a 2 port USB hub, giving me a total 6 USB ports), wired mouse, TimeMachine backup drive, CD-ROM drive, WACOM tablet, an occasional iPad. >> The LG monitor USB runs at 2.0. via USB-C and runs at 3.0 via DisplayPort or the HMDI Port as I understand the manual. >> The LG monitors deliver 60W as I understand the manual.

Works really good using USB-C direct from MacBook Air. Screen quality looks almost as good as my iMac Retina 5K. The size of macOS menu items at top and and dock icons on bottom and screen work-area area -- all were as expected and as appear on my iMAC. On HP monitor I bought first and am not returning all these were totally distorted. I read this monitor works well with MACs and it sure does. Monitor controls work via little joystick which is really slick. Screen hight and tilt operate very nicely also. Good quality USB-C cable included. Super beefy AC adaptor also which I guess is good? Excellent for MACs!

Fantastic resolution! I am using it with a Mac Mini M2 without any issues. I love the Apple RGB color palette on this screen.

I am driving this monitor from an MBP 16in. The key aspects are as follows: * The software and manuals are on a CD/DVD. One might wish that at least the packing would include a physical printout of the manual. * Using the USB-C cable to connect USB-C to USB-C does not drive the monitor with all of its possible options available. * Trying to drive the monitor through a modestly-budgeted (Anker) USB-C to HDMI adaptor does not provide all of the possible options and indeed seems to give issues tracking the color calibration. * The only option that worked was to use a trusted USB-C (thunderbolt) to HDMI adaptor (I use one from iVANKY). This drives the monitor with its fullest options exposed in the menu settings. * The menu toggle is conveniently located at the center bottom. You can adjust the sound volume with left-right action. You can select the full menu options with a press. * The speakers are somewhat tinny sounding. When sound is being driven through the HDMI, you cannot control volume form the MBP, you must use the monitor hardware button (as noted above). Now that this is set up, I appreciate the 4k next to the Retina on the MBP (sitting on the right of the monitor). I appreciate the extra screen real-estate. I can have a split-view of two different apps running nicely on this monitor. Finally, I appreciate being able to toggle between different pre-sets in monitor output, such a Vivid, Custom, or Cinema. I use this to run Vivid in daylight, a lower-brightness Custom set in dimmer evening light, and Cinema for video movie streaming. Overall, this is a very good to excellent option as a second monitor to a MBP 16in.

I spent a considerable amount of time researching monitors to pair with a new M1 Mac Mini. Years ago I did most of my work on an iMac, and when I upgraded to a Mac Pro I went through half a dozen different monitors trying to get that ultra-sharp, bright iMac retina display look on a 3rd party monitor. I landed on 2 of these 27UN850s to pair with the new Mac Mini. Im running 1 via Thunderbolt and 1 via HDMI, and both look pretty amazing right out of the box. Not quite the retina display type wow factor, but at this price point (less than $500 each) you really cant touch these monitors. I was also considering the Apple-endorsed LG Ultrafine 4k; but knowing Id be mounting these on an arm and without much need for the increased power delivery via USB-C, these were $300 cheaper (each) and look nearly as crisp. If I had one complaint it would be that the built-in speakers sound boxy and flat. Im not using the internal speakers anyway so its not a big deal for me - but if youre looking for any depth in your audio with these you may be disappointed. I dont think anyone expects monitors to have amazing sounding speakers anyway.

I use macbook pro and this display is always connected to MacBook pro. In the first couple of months, the monitor worked fine with maintained speed. However, eventually it started acting pretty sluggish while working on common tasks like safari surfing, excel edits. I wouldnt recommend this monitor for heavy duty work where you are connecting with external keyboard, mouse and working on multiple software at a time. I really wished if the refund period was extended to larger period and not limited to just 30 days.

I was debating for a while whether to get a larger ultra-wide monitor (my current one was 38) or to get two monitors instead. Even pre covid I worked primarily from home and am on my computer all of my waking hours. The ultra-wide was rarely ever beneficial to me. Ive got major attention deficit and always have multiple windows open. There was never any need to have an application fill an entire 34 wide screen and most of the space would be unused. Even with pbp, the screen is really too compact to feel truly comfortable. With two of these LG monitors, it really makes more sense for my use case. I have a full 27 inches for my work computer and another 27 inches for my personal Macbook. I can have zoom up all day and Slack without having to minimize anything. When work is done, I switch that one over to my gaming PC and now I have two computers for play. Having two monitors also really gives me the ability to free up some space believe it or not. I no longer have one long cumbersome panel smack dab in the middle of my desk. I have two monitors I can push aside as I see fit (I also mounted them on two separate gas spring arms on opposite ends of the desk.) I have much more freedom with my space now.

This is the second one I’ve got that’s similar to each other I wanted a double screen system for my computer and and I love the way it works only thing is my older screens a little darker not enough to really make a difference the new one is a very good screen

Upgrade to an LG UltraFine IPS 4K screen, delivering ultra HD resolution with supremely accurate colors, even when viewed off-angle. The 27-inch display offers versatility of USB Type C connectivity (60 Watt power delivery) plus the benefits of HDCP 2.2 compatibility, so it will seamlessly display 4K content from a variety of sources. Experience smooth gameplay with AMD FreeSync (used with supported video cards), virtually eliminating screen tearing and stuttering that occur as a result of the difference between a graphics card"s frame rate and monitor"s refresh rate. Dynamic Action Sync reduces input lag and elevates your gameplay, allowing you to respond to your opponents quickly. Keep visibility even in dark scenes—LG"s Black Stabilizer senses dark scenes and helps make it brighter so that you can find the enemies hiding and waiting to attack your player in the dark. *Software download required to enable OnScreen Control.
