> 3 dayIve had this monitor maybe two months and am experiencing some issues already. I did a lot of research before choosing this one as I really wanted good screen real estate for my Macbook Pro; excellent picture quality; a monitor that would support charging my laptop while connected. Heres how that worked out: 1. Picture quality is good, a bit bright but good. 2. The charging only works on occasion. Sometimes the monitor charges the laptop, sometimes it doesnt. This is really frustrating to me as my office is tiny and I dont want additional cables. It also connects, for the most part, but I will get the occasional black screen that doesnt detect the laptop. I have to then open the laptop and make sure the monitor realizes its on and close it again. Its annoying at best. 3. I cant control the sound from my laptop. This is wildly annoying. Not sure if Ill return this or if theres better out there, but for the price I paid I would expect it to work a lot more consistently.

> 3 dayI have had this monitor for 2 years, love it for using a laptop and working on a larger screen. The USB-C to USB-C cable needs replacing, sometimes it works and powers the computer and sometimes it does not power? It connects to the monitor for a picture but not power? I cannot find the appropriate cable to replace? If I plug in a USBC- to USB-C it does not connect to a picture?

> 3 dayRunning this on a Macbook Air 2018. Its great, once its configured at a proper resolution -- almost as good a screen as the Airs own Retina. Has a matte finish, but thats no issue to me. Displays text and graphics quite sharply. The only drawback is that I also tested it with a 2014 Mac Mini, and for that there is simply no adequate resolution that looks good, even via the utility SwitchResX which is my go-to in such cases. But with modern hardware I wouldnt think anybody would have cause for complaint, and I certainly like both the USB-C cable for delivering power to my laptop and the extra ports on the back, including two USB-3 ports I use for things like external drives. Highly recced. You wont likely be sorry.

> 3 dayThe LG 27UN850 is a great addition to an Apple Mac mini. It produces an image comparable to an iMacs Retina 5 display without the higher cost. As a previous iMac user, I was looking for a monitor to go with Apples new Mac mini with the new M1 chip that would produce comparable results. Connection was very simple as I just plugged in the LG HDMI cable (included) between the monitor and the mini. There were no settings to make--just plug it in. I could not see much of difference betweens the iMacs display and the LG just using the naked eye. If you work with graphics and want an even better display, LG offers a 5K display that it more that double of the 27UN850. The difference in price was not worth the expense! You can easily spend over $1000 for a quality monitor, but the LG 27UN850 is a great compromise if you are looking for a crisp, high quality display.

> 3 dayCurrently have a 2017 27 5K iMac and will be replacing it with an M2 Mac Mini or Pro when theyre released so I took advantage of Amazons Prime Day pricing and bought two of these LG 27UN850-W monitors. Since I dont have the Mini yet, I wanted to compare them to my iMac. I connected one at a time and ran screen tests to confirm no dead pixels, etc. Both look to be in perfect shape. My iMac recognized them immediately and they worked right out of the box using the cable included by LG. I only changed two settings, one was to uncheck the High Dynamic Range as it made the images too bright. The other was to scale the resolution which made everything on both monitors almost identical. After changing both settings and working with the LG monitor and my iMac side-by-side I have to say that I am *very* impressed. Of course the LG is 4K, not 5K like the iMac, but the difference is more than acceptable. My office has a window behind me and although I really like the iMacs glossy screen, the LGs mat screen helps with the reflections quite a bit. Im not a professional, but I do work a great deal with photos and videos as well as other graphics. When I move the images from my iMac to the LG and back I can see some differences but not enough to warrant spending $1500 on Apples stand-alone monitor. The LG monitor is simply an excellent value IMHO. Ive only been running the monitors for a few days, but I have to say that I am very impressed. Ive been using iMacs for about 20 years now and I wasnt looking forward to switching to a Mini (or Pro), but I believe these are the monitors that will ease the transition a great deal. Highly recommended so far. Ill be sure and report back if I come across any issues.

> 3 dayI have tried three different 4k monitors and this one is hands down the only usable one (probably the best under $400). Its totally compatible with my M1 Macbook Pro, and give good use experience when plugged in. Picture quality is really nice and I have nothing to complain about it.

> 3 dayI spent a considerable amount of time researching monitors to pair with a new M1 Mac Mini. Years ago I did most of my work on an iMac, and when I upgraded to a Mac Pro I went through half a dozen different monitors trying to get that ultra-sharp, bright iMac retina display look on a 3rd party monitor. I landed on 2 of these 27UN850s to pair with the new Mac Mini. Im running 1 via Thunderbolt and 1 via HDMI, and both look pretty amazing right out of the box. Not quite the retina display type wow factor, but at this price point (less than $500 each) you really cant touch these monitors. I was also considering the Apple-endorsed LG Ultrafine 4k; but knowing Id be mounting these on an arm and without much need for the increased power delivery via USB-C, these were $300 cheaper (each) and look nearly as crisp. If I had one complaint it would be that the built-in speakers sound boxy and flat. Im not using the internal speakers anyway so its not a big deal for me - but if youre looking for any depth in your audio with these you may be disappointed. I dont think anyone expects monitors to have amazing sounding speakers anyway.

> 3 dayThis monitor is interesting. I’ve enjoyed my experience with it overall. However, it took me quite a while to figure out the correct settings to be able to use it. The default settings have extremely high contrast. Reds were appearing as some sort of neon red/pink color. I got it figured out after a lot of trial and error. One of the big reasons I got this monitor was so that I could use a single usb-c cord for charging (Mac) and attaching to the monitor. Unfortunately, the monitor doesn’t provide enough power to actually charge the computer. It just dies much more slowly. I use it as my home office computer (graphic design) and it lasts for the whole work day, usually. Then I have to plug into the original charger at night. I didn’t think I would have to do that, so that was a little let down. Anyway, it’s a great monitor overall. Just has a few hiccups that can be worked through.

> 3 dayDCI-P3 98% coverage, brain dead color calibration, 4k, 32in, and the blacks are similar to my va monitors. Checks all the boxes off my list. The refresh rate could be higher but that doesnt matter for my work so this is a 5 stars from me. Nice value from what I can tell.
