Logitech G MX518 Gaming Mouse

> 24 hourLogitechs MX5xx series mice have been, in my opinion, the best thing on the market for years. They updated it from the original with larger (and I assume longer-lasting) slippery pads on the bottom. As before, the left/right buttons are tactile and quiet, the two thumb buttons are placed perfectly to be accessible but not be pressed accidentally. The scroll wheel is, again, consistent and accurate, providing just enough tactile feedback and friction to end up exactly where you want it. Above and below the scroll wheel are sensitivity adjustment buttons, which - thank you, Logitech - are platform-independent. Works identically on my windows and Macbook without installing any drivers at all. Ive traveled with similar models from Logitech for years, have dropped them, had things fall on them, and they just keep working. For gaming or general desktop use, this is the most comfortable and predictable mouse I have found.

> 24 hourThis is a fine mouse for the money, as it has it were it counts. The buttons feel good and are responsive, the weight of the mouse is good, and the tracking sensor is reliable. The build quality isnt perfect however. The mouse to me is very ugly with the grey plastic having a cheap sparkle to it. The plastic used in both the grey portion and the black outer portion feel a little cheap, however they seem sturdy enough after using the mouse a bit. The cord is also unwrapped, which is a little bothersome, but not a deal breaker. My biggest concern is that the mouse is build for a 1-3-1 hold, meaning three fingers should sit on top of the mouse. This was pretty uncomfortable to me as I had always used a 1-2-2 hold. I adapted pretty quickly, as I did not want to return the mouse, but others may not want to try and use a mouse unsuited to their preferences. Overall, it is a very good mouse for the price if it fits the hand, if not and you are unwilling to relearn the grip, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

> 24 hourI replaced my old (and original) MX518 mouse with this re-released version. In size grip and feel they are exactly identical, I couldnt recommend this mouse highly enough. However, compared to the original the cord they used this time is much thinner. I cant imagine this is for any reason other than lowering its lifespan so people cant go on using the same mouse for ten years. I wouldnt be surprised if other parts on this are inferior to the original.

> 24 hourI still have an older yet pretty decent condition MX518 and this one is almost identical in feel. The buttons, scroll wheel, etc. are all very similar. The pads on the bottom are much better than the original. I hope Logitech releases some more updated classics, especially the G500s. If the quality is as good as the MX518 redux, itll pretty much be a guaranteed purchase.

> 24 hourThe original MX 518 was infamous in the days when Counter Strike 1.6/Source reigned as the go-to competitive FPS. The original served me well for many a year, and when the refresh was released it only made sense to give it a try. The end result is ok. The weight is slightly off compared to the original, and the sensor while good initially had some issues. Still a good mouse for those with larger hands that favor a right-hand palm grip, but doesnt shine nearly as much in the face of competition as it used to.

> 24 hourThe original concept of the 3-button mouse was to use right click with the ring finger. Almost nobody did this so today few mice are designed for this hand position. The MX518 and its descendants are! This thing is a palm-position beast that works beautifully for both high and low res players - once you get used to it! If you grew up right clicking with your middle finger, expect a tough first week with the mx518, followed by a lifetime of satisfaction.

> 24 hourMy original MX518 lasted 8+ years. This lasting 5 months is pathetic.

> 24 hourI have owned 3 generations of the mx518 and Ive always went to the next generation because I wanted a upgrade not because the mouse broke down. From the time I wake to the time I go to sleep, I can game on this mouse without any kind of fatigue on my hands. The sensor is precise and the dpi upgrade is great, I dont have to pick up and move the mouse like 3 times just to get to the other side of the screen. Logitech please take my suggestion and make a separate version of this mouse with 3-4 extra buttons, I use this mouse mostly for MMOs and several extra buttons would make the mouse perfect.

> 24 hourI was going to give my OG MX518 a retirement party. I bought the original Mx518 when it first came out to replace the previous Logitech best, the MX510, which I got in the last century. Heres the rundown: ( no pun intended but...) The new mouse is lighter(not in a good way), has a shorter, noticeably thinner wire, lacks infinite scroll and the material is vastly inferior. Leaving off the 3D dimples mustve saved a penny because now the mouse looks, ordinarily plain, like most mice. The sides of the Original had a soft ,almost brushed cloth feel that was/is pleasant to lay hands on but this new iteration has a matte black plastic piece that was roughed up a little. This revival was a sop to saps like me who wanted a new mouse just like the old mouse but they couldnt do it. They had to do it on the cheap. If this mouse was a movie itd be Ghostbusters 2016. Im happy if the increase in DPI is what you were looking for but me and those new folks that want to feel the Legendary mouse everyone raved about. Well, you cant. They say, You cant go home again, and that applies here. Its a good mouse but for the current price there must be better mice made in the 21st century.

> 24 hourAnd better than ever. I am not going to write a long review other than it is a great mouse. Sensor is accurate and doesnt do weird interpolation, smoothing or acceleration like some others do. Skates hold up well, clicks are a little loud though. If you are use to the MX518, G400 series, etc then this mouse will feel fine. Good for the palm grip people and weird finger/palm grip I have. Just be sure to use it on a good mouse pad. These sensor is VERY good. It will pick up things and cause your cursor to jump. If you have a good one, keep it clean. I recommend it be used on a hard mouse pad and not a cloth one. Glides smoother.
