> 3 dayPrior to this mouse, I was using this a bluetooth mouse to play games like Fortnite and Overwatch. After switching to this one, I see a major difference to the sensitivity and clicks to improve my gameplay. Anyways, on to the specifics! This is a wired mouse that plugs into your PC via USB. The wire is quite long, so you can fish it around any monitors to help make your desk space more cleaner. From the box, you can type in the specific link and get the driver for this mouse. The software can allow you to customize the various buttons. By default, there are options to go backward/forward in your web browser. And you can also increase, decrease, and set back to default the mouse sensitivity. So you can easily switch back between ones you need when gaming! My hand can rest easy on the mouse and the grip that I have on my right hand is comfortable. Im very glad to have purchased this!

> 3 dayCall it what you want, the MX518/G400/G400S/MX518 Legendary keeps coming back for good reason: its a dead simple mouse with no frills and a whole lot of heft for those with hands on the larger side (And by hands I mean hand, lefties are left out on this design unfortunately) or those that prefer their mice to have some weight. Set the DPI to 800, turn the polling rate to 1,000 Hz, turn off smoothing and acceleration and youve got a mouse FPS junkies have been trusting for 15 years. As always, the thin cable is the weak spot on this line, but having used a G Pro for 3 years with the heavy braided cable constantly getting stuck on everything without it being bungeed up, Id rather just be gentle with a thinner and lighter cable. Pros: +Ergos, size and weight best described as Its chonk. Those with larger hands or those that like to rest their hand on the mouse will come back to this mouse like a long lost friend. This has to be Logitechs longest running gaming mouse both in years and number of refreshes. +Unlike the G Pro, that heft helps it to not be bullied by its cable. The thin, rubber cable also doesnt get stuck on things nearly as much as the Pros braided cable. +Sensors have been updated to Logitechs latest, but I cant tell the difference from my G400S or G Pro. You still dont have to worry about angle snapping. YMMV: #Logitechs G Hub sucks but thats not necessarily this mouses fault. Unless you need to be frequently messing with this or other devices settings, feel free to save your settings to the mouses internal memory and uninstall G Hub to save 250 Megs. You certainly wont need lighting settings or anything. #This is personal taste but the G branding is boring. Logitech had a chance to shout out the MX518s old Logitech logo on the mouse and with the included sticker but didnt. I do like the new glossy silver fade-to-black design and prefer it to the old 518s quicksilver design. Cons: -Ergos, size and weight best described as dated. Those with smaller hands, those that claw grip, lefties, weaker hands etc, will find that theyve purchased a brick with 2005s idea of what a hand should contour to. -The cable is still going to be what fails first. Its thin, rubber and connected to the mouse with only a bit of strain relief. Theres replacement cables and feet out there if youre in need. -The G400S had a kind of tacky rubbery feeling to its outer shell and sides? The MX518L is all glossy plastic and hard plastic on the sides. Not great for sweaty hands.

> 3 dayMy husband has had this same model mouse for many years. When his old mouse started to break down, he searched for a replacement, trying everything from a very cheap mouse to a very VERY expensive gaming mouse. None of them were quite what he wanted. Finally, we found this same model on Amazon, and immediately ordered it! Hes thrilled, and Im considering ordering another one (or more!) as a backup, just in case this model has been discontinued when he needs another one. Its hard to find a mouse that fits just right, and this one is perfect for him. From other reviews, I see that this particular mouse is a well-loved model, and its not just my husband who thinks its perfect!

> 3 dayDisclaimer: I never used the original MX518 made around a decade ago. So far, I’ve got to say that I really love this mouse. You may be asking, why did I choose this retro styled mouse over some of the other mice? 1. In my opinion, It’s a nice break from the sharp, sleek, and flashy geometric designs from modern gaming mice and other gaming equipment. The MX518 does what it needs to do without over complicating itself. 2. The old school soft and rounded aesthetic of the MX518 feels very comfortable in palm, fingertip, and claw gripping styles. 3. The cord isn’t braided. Sure, this can be looked as a negative in durability, but it’s nice to not deal with fraying and cord friction that can mess with mouse movement. 4. The unbraided cord is also very flexible and extremely light to the point where it feels borderline nonexistent. It doesn’t feel cheap despite this. 5. It’s slightly lighter than the Razor Deathadder and has excellent weight balance. 6. The MX518 has the same (HERO) sensor as Logitech’s $100+ flagship mice. 7. The mouse has programmable buttons for assigning macros, keybinds, on the fly DPI changing, and the ability to store and switch between multiple mouse profiles. The mouse profiles can be assigned to games for automatic, immediate swapping when the games are launched. With the MX518 praise out of the way, there are some things to consider before buying the mouse. 1. The MX518 was designed for right handed use only. 2. The mouse is fairly big, some users with smaller hands may find it uncomfortable. 3. If you have long fingers and like to palm grip, you may hate the left and right click buttons. They don’t fully extend over the edge of the mouse and your fingertips may hit the plastic form that wraps around it. 4. The features on this retro styled mouse may appear too basic without the flashy lighting, infinite scrolling, weight changing, grip swapping, and other features found in modern mice design. 5. The buttons below and above the mouse wheel may be tricky to reach depending on your grip style and finger length. The mouse wheel itself has a somewhat narrow and rubbery feel that may feel weird to some users. TLDR: I personally think the MX518 is one of the best mice I have used in comfort and performance, but the older design style and lack of modern gimmicks may not be everyone.

> 3 dayI replaced my old (and original) MX518 mouse with this re-released version. In size grip and feel they are exactly identical, I couldnt recommend this mouse highly enough. However, compared to the original the cord they used this time is much thinner. I cant imagine this is for any reason other than lowering its lifespan so people cant go on using the same mouse for ten years. I wouldnt be surprised if other parts on this are inferior to the original.

> 3 dayLove the classic feeling of the mouse, it brings back memories of how confortable it was, sensor and software wise is up-to date, but is lacking some details that you have come to expect from current mice like braided cable an a little more weight to it (coming from a G500) but it is to be expected it is just a matter of getting use to it . Overall loving the mouse and hopping that it will last as much as my original MX510 (still working just fine after so many years)

> 3 dayGreat mouse that feels just like the classic, but with modern features and better specs. I had moved away from Logitech mice over the years as I wasnt a fan of the design and feel of the modern lineup, but as soon as I saw the mx518 was back, I had to get it. Although the glossy material looks and feels good, it is a smudge magnet. Often requires cleaning, but its not enough of a detriment to take away from the good. This is for people who like the feel of a big round medium weight mouse. I dont often switch sensitivities, but having a button that resets to the default of your choosing is fantastic for those accidental presses. Simple 2 side button configuration, and a deep left thumb recess also helps with accidental presses.

> 3 dayI dont have big hands but this was small even to me. Worked well and the design was good but it just seemed smaller than I was used to.

> 3 dayI dont know what it is about Logitech mice and the right click failing, but its happened on every mouse Ive bought from them. From my favorite mouse of all time (G9 original) to a 400s, and now an MX518 something needs to be done to remedy this common problem. I cant find a click spec for this mouse, standard MTBF for a decent mouse back in the day was 1 million clicks... I know for sure Im not right clicking a million times, nor has the button ever broke, as in its always still clicked but it seems like they all start double clicking randomly on their own after some time. Its a real shame because they seem more durable than most mice (Ive broken 2 Corsair mice buttons just by clicking) but something inside isnt registering the click or is somehow registering it twice even those the click sound is still crisp and nothing seems broken (no rattling). So who knows. I bought this mouse a few months after release, I thought it was a G5 replacement but apparently MX518 is its own brand, still its the classic G5 shape and its super comfy to use. When I got mine it was $60, Id be looking elsewhere if it wasnt basically half price at this point, that being said I bought another one. Id recommend this at $30-40 but not any more.
