> 3 dayFor over seven years Ive been using a Raizer Taipan. The middle mouse button finally went out and it was starting to have tracking issues so I retired it. Unfortunatly, razer no longer makes the Taipan nor anything I would consider its equivalent. So I purchased the mx518 on the premise that any mouse so beloved the company would bring its design out of retirement couldnt be that bad. After a bit of remapping so that up/down DPI where both below the scroll wheel and DPI shift was above it, I started using it. The difference in size and wait where noticeable but the biggest problem was shifting from a flat topped mouse to an angled mouse. After a few months the issues I had at first have become completely non-noticeable and Ive grown accustomed to it. I can say that it does its job and does it well, with no frills.

Greater than one weekGot this yesterday and have logged several hours on it already playing shooters and while the shape is nothing that new, the sensor is extraordinary. You could perform surgery with this thing. The feel of this mouse isnt quite as solid or quality as I would think but its not that bad. The shape is pretty good but I find I have a hard time finding a comfortable spot for my pinky. Its not a huge deal and nothing that would keep me from using it. Again, the sensor is the best Ive ever used and I presently own literally a dozen gaming mice. I usually buy one ever 4 or 5 months. So comfort Id give this a 7.5 with the DeathAdder being a 10. Build Quality Id also give a 7.5. It doesnt feel cheap but it doesnt feel high quality either. Performance Id give a 10. Easily the best, most accurate sensor on the market and Logitechs gaming software is second to none. So yeah, for $60 this is easily worth it. Highly recommended.

> 3 dayThrowback to 2005! I am so happy I found this mouse. I used the original MX518 from 2005 to at least 2016 and then I lost it in a move, or maybe I still have it buried in a box...but I can guarantee if I found it, its STILL WORKING! It somehow managed to escape my terrible cat who is a notorious cord chewer. This new MX518 is comfortable, crisp, responsive (as my husband said jealously when he looked at the box of my new mouse This one is better than the one I have and he bought one that is at least $250 because it charges wirelessly on its pad.) Well, guess what, my mouse will never run out of batteries mid-raid when the tank has just pulled a boss! My only tiny tiny problem, and this is my own problem, because I own a terrible cat, is that the USB cord is so thin and light and attractive to my cat who could literally sever it in one chomp of her fiendish teeth. Yes, I know people hate it, but I wish Logitech had gone braided cable with this one. Currently, I unplug and put the mouse in a safe place so she cant get it, but I know Ill lapse one day and shell chomp it. Come to think of it, I should probably search amazon for some cord protectors... gotta go!

> 3 dayI got this mouse even though I already have the Logitech Hero G502 Hero mostly out of nostalgia for the ones Ive had like it in the past. When I first got the G502 it felt different, I wasnt used to it, so I always wanted something more like the MX518, but after trying it all over again I realize I like my G502 better, which feels better in my hand and has the thumb rest as well. Nothing wrong the the MX518 and thats why Im still giving it 5 stars, just a matter of preference, but if you ask me, get the Logitech G502 Hero, even if you arent a gamer.

> 3 dayWow. Just wow. When they discontinued this model I was devastated. This was the most popular and best fit mouse that I used back in the old cs 1.6 / cs source days. I even messaged Logitech a few times to bring this back. Im sure this has nothing to do with my messages, but Im surely thankful that they relaunched this model. Best mouse ever made and highly recommend it. Not going to lie, I went away from Logitech mice for a while now, but Im back. Hope a Logitech rep reads some of these reviews ... Keep this mouse, PERMANENTLY. <3

> 3 dayThe MX518 form has always been my favorite. Seems reasonably durable but all do seem to eventually suffer from the dreaded Logitech double click problem. Cheap as chips though, I have 3 spares in case they stop making them again.

> 3 dayFinish is different (obviously), strain relief is different, underside around the sensor is different, buttons are shaped differently and no longer have the red silkscreen, top rear-most button has a different logo entirely. The G logo inlay at the top rear isnt metal (which is probably better since the printing on it would eventually wear off on the old ones). Cable is thinner. Matte side finish may be a bit different- hard to tell. Most of these items are superficial and doesnt really detract, but again, its not the mx518, I was hoping for. Its a Rev 2...
