> 3 dayFirst Id like to say it arrived looking new, was problem free for about a week, and Amazon handled my return request without any pain or suffering. 5 stars to Amazon. As for product it has a nice fit and finish but Im taking 4 stars off for the weird internal problems. Im just thankful this happened while it was returnable. Now for the review: This item looks to be for the international marketplace (I dont know if that matters, it does not seem to be a Chinese knock off product although it is about half the price of the original released years ago), it has Chinese and English all over the box. Material quality is good but compared to the original MX518 it is lighter and the USB line is thinner and more fragile looking. It did link with with the Logitech gaming software once I updated the software to the current version and all functions worked as expected. Worked as good as the original MX518 up until it had problems. I had to return it because after a week my #5 button forward stopped working for no apparent reason. I tried it in another computer and then the left click had problems. I could right click something and left click from the drop down and it worked, but if I tried to left click anything else it would not select it, not even the X in the corner of a window. I should mention the second computer is a laptop and the MX518 caused the touchpad left click to have the same problem and the problem persisted even after the mouse was unplugged. Thankfully restarting after unplugging cleared the problem until I plugged the MX518 in again. With mouse plugged in and computer restarted the problem persisted with the two different computers respectively. Due to the odd problems this mouse started having I cannot in good conscience recommend it. Edit: I thought I bought from the main seller (Logitech or Amazon) but am now seeing Sold by: Safe N Quick after returning it. Which doesnt even sell the mouse currently and if I go to the items main product page it is Sold by: Logitech® Official. Also as I noted before the box It came in has Chinese on it. Where as other customer reviews have a box with only English as you would expect from Logitech in the USA. So I guess...Be careful at checkout with this product.

> 3 dayMy biggest grievance with the mouse is that it became available AFTER I replaced my previous Logitech G4 mouse with a Logitech G403. Now the G403 I bought is a fine mouse, but I had been using that old G4 for like 7 years, and I had grown very accustomed to its shape. This new MX518 has a shape just like my old G4, and therefore I prefer it over my G403, which I now keep as a backup. I suppose the MX518 could be a little better with a braided cable like my G403, but thats really not enough of a detraction for me to not give this 5 stars.

> 3 dayMy original MX518 lasted 8+ years. This lasting 5 months is pathetic.

> 3 dayI have my doubts about these being legitimate MX518 re-issues, considering they were delivered in *ziploc bags*, but as long as they worked, it would have been fine. Not only are the buttons incredibly squishy compared to the several older versions I still have (and thereby can directly compare), but one of them just flat out loses tracking frequently. Ive never right-clicked accidentally more in my life than after I swapped out my older (but better) MX518 for this one. If you were using older Logitech software for the older models, they may not work for these ones. I bought two of them at once, one of them has the tracking issues, the other one has the squishy buttons with almost no feedback. Looks like an issue with quality control. Unfortunately I waited too long swap them out, or I would definitely be returning them.

> 3 dayThis mouse has a very good build quality, its around 100g which is great for me, but might seem heavy to others. The Hero sensor is by far the most precise ive ever had. No acceleration, no angle snapping perfect for gaming. Your either going to love the shape of this mouse and the ergonomics, or your going to hate it, no middle ground really. Its a great palm/fingertip/hybrid grip mouse, but most people are probably going to want to palm grip this mouse. Glides great across surfaces. One down side may be the right side finger rest is kinda in a bad spot, but i fingertip grip this mouse so its not that much of an issue. Hope this helps someone!

> 3 dayThe original concept of the 3-button mouse was to use right click with the ring finger. Almost nobody did this so today few mice are designed for this hand position. The MX518 and its descendants are! This thing is a palm-position beast that works beautifully for both high and low res players - once you get used to it! If you grew up right clicking with your middle finger, expect a tough first week with the mx518, followed by a lifetime of satisfaction.

> 3 dayYou have probably already read how great of a gaming mouse this is. Like others, I used it in the 2000s as my main gaming mouse. Its really a nice mouse. But, these days I work from home and keep having my mice loose tracking on me. I write code for a living, and I dont need much from a mouse. But, I need it to track correctly. Unfortunately, the standard logitech wireless ones I keep buying, keep loosing its tracking. Thing is, I still have my old 518 from 2007 ish. Guess what? It still works. No tracking issues and I put that thing to work on a nightly basis for years. But, the middle mouse doesnt scroll so I needed a new one. So to avoid having to buy another mouse too soon, I decided to get my old standard and pickup the 518. The new design works just fine, but be sure you are right handed. Does anyone use a mouse with their left hand? Not sure, but this mouse was designed to be used with your right hand. Its got the perfect indent for your thumb which is one of the great features. Its a perfect fit. It doesnt have the nice rubber anymore, but thats not a big deal. Its cheaper now so thats fine. Sensitivity buttons above and below the middle mouse button is nice as well. Just tap to change sensitivity as you need. Remember, this thing was made for performance. This is a wired mouse. There is no wireless functionality, so you have to plug it in. This could be good/bad depending on what you need it for. But, just keep in mind, you have to plug the usb into a port. It took a few mins for it to work, surprisingly, but after a few mins it worked fine. We will see if they still use quality parts in this mouse and it lasts a long time. But, Im feeling good about it so far. Sometimes if you work all day with a mouse, just buy a gaming mouse for quality. The standard cheap ones dont last.

> 3 dayI still have an older yet pretty decent condition MX518 and this one is almost identical in feel. The buttons, scroll wheel, etc. are all very similar. The pads on the bottom are much better than the original. I hope Logitech releases some more updated classics, especially the G500s. If the quality is as good as the MX518 redux, itll pretty much be a guaranteed purchase.

Greater than one weekThis mouse has the same finely sculpted ergonomics as the old MX518, but with a much better sensor. The body is a bit lighter, which isnt particularly good if youre used to filling up all the weight cartridges on the tunable mice, which is a feature this mouse does not have. The shell is identical to the MX518, but with different materials and a different finish. The sides are nice textured plastic. The top is an extremely high-gloss surface that is very eye-catching, but this is where my one gripe comes in. Who the heck designed this finish? The glossy, lightly adherent finish attracts skin oils like nothing else. I have literally watched the clickers on this mouse gum up in minutes, right before my very eyes. The only way to avoid instantly fouling the top surface of this thing with skin oils would be to literally scrub your fingertips with a pumice stone every morning. Did they even test this thing, and if they did, were they wearing white cotton museum keeper gloves the entire time? Disappointing.
