> 3 dayI still own my old MX518, as far as shape and button positioning this mouse is spot on to the original. As for the features, they are upgraded for the better (DPI as well as software features). It looks like my old mouse minus a new paint job. While it has made playing games like Overwatch easier, it hasnt made my overall performance much better, but thats a personal problem T_T and I need to git gud again after all this time.

Greater than one weekI still have an older yet pretty decent condition MX518 and this one is almost identical in feel. The buttons, scroll wheel, etc. are all very similar. The pads on the bottom are much better than the original. I hope Logitech releases some more updated classics, especially the G500s. If the quality is as good as the MX518 redux, itll pretty much be a guaranteed purchase.

> 3 dayWorth it for the feel of this fantastic mouse, but the sensors are not that fast for competitive gaming.

> 3 dayThis mouse is not identical to the original MX518. Lets get that out of the way first. Its a little bit lighter in weight, and some people complain about the cord not being braided or something. Are these deal killers? Not for me. If your MX518 is wearing out and you want a modern replacement, go ahead, try a half-dozen other mice to see if they fit your hand. I did. And I came back to the G MX518 because I like the ergonomics so much. The upgraded sensor is just icing on the cake. I like the new paintjob, too. No problems in several months daily use for surfing and gaming. Recommended.

> 3 dayIts overall pretty nice. Although for how much this thing costs it feels pretty flimsy. The buttons also just stick anything onto it and can get dirty easily, nothing like any mouse Ive ever used. It feels a bit awkward for my ring finger like it has nowhere to go but I ended up clawing the thing the whole time anyways. I always use the middle mouse button to open and close links/tabs and the button started to give away and make a crunched plastic sound but it did go away somehow which was cool... If this product costs maybe half what it is then Id definitely recommend and give 5 stars but it does have some flaws. It performs nicely though its just the flaws really stick to my mind.

> 3 dayFirst Id like to say it arrived looking new, was problem free for about a week, and Amazon handled my return request without any pain or suffering. 5 stars to Amazon. As for product it has a nice fit and finish but Im taking 4 stars off for the weird internal problems. Im just thankful this happened while it was returnable. Now for the review: This item looks to be for the international marketplace (I dont know if that matters, it does not seem to be a Chinese knock off product although it is about half the price of the original released years ago), it has Chinese and English all over the box. Material quality is good but compared to the original MX518 it is lighter and the USB line is thinner and more fragile looking. It did link with with the Logitech gaming software once I updated the software to the current version and all functions worked as expected. Worked as good as the original MX518 up until it had problems. I had to return it because after a week my #5 button forward stopped working for no apparent reason. I tried it in another computer and then the left click had problems. I could right click something and left click from the drop down and it worked, but if I tried to left click anything else it would not select it, not even the X in the corner of a window. I should mention the second computer is a laptop and the MX518 caused the touchpad left click to have the same problem and the problem persisted even after the mouse was unplugged. Thankfully restarting after unplugging cleared the problem until I plugged the MX518 in again. With mouse plugged in and computer restarted the problem persisted with the two different computers respectively. Due to the odd problems this mouse started having I cannot in good conscience recommend it. Edit: I thought I bought from the main seller (Logitech or Amazon) but am now seeing Sold by: Safe N Quick after returning it. Which doesnt even sell the mouse currently and if I go to the items main product page it is Sold by: Logitech® Official. Also as I noted before the box It came in has Chinese on it. Where as other customer reviews have a box with only English as you would expect from Logitech in the USA. So I guess...Be careful at checkout with this product.

> 3 dayI had the old MX518. I had it for over a decade. This updated version is even BETTER! They really took an existing fan-favorite product and drastically improved it. The middle wheel actually works a lot better for me since its smoother rather than too rubbery-thick like the previous old one. Makes it a lot easier and smoother to go from first person to third person view (zooming in and out of character) in games. On my old one after a period of time, the middle wheel occasionally got stuck as a result (i think it had deeper grooves). I was really blown away when I got this replacement mouse. I will never use any other mouse as long as I can keep having one of these. I was skeptical paying $54+ dollars on amazon for it, but it was well worth it. I think it actually costs more on Logitechs site. I know I paid a lot less for my old one, but I was desperate since I had an accident rendering my old one useless. I use a cheap, basic mouse for my work computer at home, but for personal PC (and gaming rig) this is the premier mouse to use. Its very comfortable on my hand, and I love that my thumb can rest inside the grooved notch for it. Not only great for games, but its comfortable if you need to surf the web for long periods of time.

> 3 dayDisclaimer: I never used the original MX518 made around a decade ago. So far, I’ve got to say that I really love this mouse. You may be asking, why did I choose this retro styled mouse over some of the other mice? 1. In my opinion, It’s a nice break from the sharp, sleek, and flashy geometric designs from modern gaming mice and other gaming equipment. The MX518 does what it needs to do without over complicating itself. 2. The old school soft and rounded aesthetic of the MX518 feels very comfortable in palm, fingertip, and claw gripping styles. 3. The cord isn’t braided. Sure, this can be looked as a negative in durability, but it’s nice to not deal with fraying and cord friction that can mess with mouse movement. 4. The unbraided cord is also very flexible and extremely light to the point where it feels borderline nonexistent. It doesn’t feel cheap despite this. 5. It’s slightly lighter than the Razor Deathadder and has excellent weight balance. 6. The MX518 has the same (HERO) sensor as Logitech’s $100+ flagship mice. 7. The mouse has programmable buttons for assigning macros, keybinds, on the fly DPI changing, and the ability to store and switch between multiple mouse profiles. The mouse profiles can be assigned to games for automatic, immediate swapping when the games are launched. With the MX518 praise out of the way, there are some things to consider before buying the mouse. 1. The MX518 was designed for right handed use only. 2. The mouse is fairly big, some users with smaller hands may find it uncomfortable. 3. If you have long fingers and like to palm grip, you may hate the left and right click buttons. They don’t fully extend over the edge of the mouse and your fingertips may hit the plastic form that wraps around it. 4. The features on this retro styled mouse may appear too basic without the flashy lighting, infinite scrolling, weight changing, grip swapping, and other features found in modern mice design. 5. The buttons below and above the mouse wheel may be tricky to reach depending on your grip style and finger length. The mouse wheel itself has a somewhat narrow and rubbery feel that may feel weird to some users. TLDR: I personally think the MX518 is one of the best mice I have used in comfort and performance, but the older design style and lack of modern gimmicks may not be everyone.

> 3 dayTL;DR: High quality mouse that feels just like the original. Good buy. When I found out that Logitech updated and rereleased the G5 (Yes, I know this is not a G5) I was quite excited. My previous mouse was on the fritz, so this seemed like a good time to try it out. So far Ive had this mouse for some months and its typical Logitech (and why I keep buying their products). The only minor gripe I have is that the mouse feels a little on the small side. Most normal people will not notice this but I have larger than average hands. Not the fault of the mouse really, but I felt it was worth pointing out. The sensor is crazy in this model, I havent gone anywhere near the maximum. I do not play FPS much anymore, so I cant comment on its accuracy there. Overall, I have barely any complaints. This is an excellent mouse if you just want a high quality mouse thats not button laden or looks like a gundam.

> 3 dayMy husband is a huge techie and gamer, and this mouse is the one that hes been using for years. This mouse is very hard to destroy. The padding on the bottom will wear out WELL before this mouse does. Im not really a mouse user and I usually utilize either my stylus pen or my PlayStation 4 controller to do stuff for long periods of time in the computer. I dont have the most ergonomic setup and so using a mouse really hurts my wrist. When my husband gave me his old spare, basically a lesser quality Mouse than this one but basically the same design and company, it felt like smooth milk under my hands encasing an egg. I know that doesnt really make sense but, thats what I feel. That Mouse recently died after about a decade of heavy usage (searing hot wire especially at the base) and I got this one and since Ive been using it, I feel like I am able to browse with it for hours before I start feeling any strain in my arm. For a period of time I was using another cheap mouse and after about 15 minutes of usage, my wrist started getting pins and needles in it. Oh my gosh, it was awful. And I ordered this right away when my husband told me to get it as a replacement. After resting my arm, I was still nervous that I would start to get pins and needles but after using this mouse... NOTHING! It really doesnt matter what quality Mouse you use for your computer. As I said, I dont have the most ergonomic setup. The table I sit in front of is a little tiny bit higher than what it should be for my hand when Im resting my elbow on the arm of my office chair. However this mouse feels so good but I can still go hours just using it without the controller, in total comfort. As I also said before, my husband is a major techie and gamer (he builds and repairs computers and games/browses for HOURS on his computer and this is the only mouse he swears by. He bought several and he only ever sticks with one thing if it works, like me ^^
