Greater than one weekI miss the marbled look that the original MX-518 had but this is still a decent upgrade of the original. It seems a little bit lighter than my original MX-518 but otherwise it feels good in my hand. If you have smaller hands this may not be the mouse for you though. Its very smooth to use and I like that it has higher DPI settings than what the original MX-518 had. It definitely has a snappier feel because of it. As usual the included software is a bloated mess though. Logitech uses the same software for all of their mice so theres settings for RGB lighting which this mouse doesnt have. If you have the RGB setting turned on and your PC has RGB lighting (in my situation my PC uses Mystic Light which is already terrible on its own) the Logitech software may conflict with the RGB software that you are already using and cause headaches. Whats great about this mouse is that you dont need the software if you just want to use it with the default DPI and button settings. The default settings are fine for me so thats what I did. Other than the bloatware I highly recommend this mouse for gaming and you can turn the DPI down low enough for more precision work too. Its not quite the same as the original MX-518 but it is a suitable upgrade worthy of the name.

> 3 dayI have owned just about every mouse over the years for gaming. (Last used was the Razer Deathadder). I have also owned the original version of this mouse many years ago and it lasted me about 6 years. I can say with absolute certainty that this is the best mouse on the market at the moment. It is built just like the original, and feels exactly the same as I remember just with upgraded internals. What makes this mouse the best? The simplistic design with no frills.. Works as intended every time and is comfortable for extended use. Cant ask for more... Thank You Logitech for bringing back the best!

> 3 dayI owned several of the original MX 518 gaming mice, the grey version that had simulated dents in it and the red version. This was by far the best gaming mouse Ive ever used and this version of it brings back memories. Now its new and improved with the HERO sensor and i love it!!

Greater than one weekThis mouse is a bit too light for my preferences. I also dislike the build quality of the scroll wheel; it feels flimsy and is too easy to over scroll. I know that may sound ridiculous, but I like my scroll wheels to be a bit a weightier and require more force to move between each discrete position. This just ends up feeling imprecise to me—not that the scroll wheel is actually giving imprecise readings. The side buttons are nice; I have no complaints about them. Theyre well positioned, made of a solid plastic, nice and clicky, and easy to reprogram with 3rd party software (and I imagine w/ the Logitech software as well, but I have no need for that as I already have a very good system for creating macros/shortcuts and the like). Some of the materials of the mouse feel cheap. I very much dislike the choice of a metallic material for the top buttons/surface of the mouse. It doesnt feel nice to the touch, its visually unappealing, and it also collects grease/smudges easily. As for the responsiveness; no complaints. As far as I can tell it lives up to the claims of being high precision.

> 3 dayThe new G app is great for re mapping the buttons. Love that. -This is not the same mouse. Its missing the red button indicators. -The mouse is no longer textured in that amazing rubber coating. Its an all plastic design -The wire is much thinner. -The plastic for the shell of the mouse is also thinner and weighs less. -The mouse when connected does not light up. The bottom of the mouse is not that smokey transparent plastic anymore its solid black. You need to really look hard to find the red light. -Its slightly smaller maybe by a few mm or cm but It seems diff. Maybe its not having that grip like before. Good stuff. -It works but you need to download the G app to have the buttons mapped correctly. -You have now full control of your DPi cycles. So you can have 69 - 420 - 1337 - 9999 w/e...You can put 5 and cycle through them with the button. -The finish isnt bad its just not the rubber coating I was looking forward to. Worth it if you want a nice clean mouse without all the flashy design features. Like 50 buttons and super curved buttons with pointy edges. My old one has lasted more than 15 years & I still have it. The rubber is peeling a bit. I am a logitech fan boy because of this mouse and the ELITE keyboards back in the day. Indestructible products I feel this one was a bit of marketing genius but I am happy with the end result.

> 3 dayWow, was I ever surprised to see that Logitech was bringing back the greatest gaming mouse of all time! Believe it or not, Im still using my original MX518 that I bought in 2005! Its never let me down, so I was hesitant to buy this one for fear of jinxing my original. However, I decided to get one to use at the office and am very pleased. Its got the same shape, look, and feel as the original, but has some newer tech inside. The only difference in the feel are the non-glossy parts on the sides and around the scroll wheel. The rubberized coating of the old 518 has been replaced with a rough, matte plastic. This is a great change since that rubber junk always deteriorates and turns into a sticky mess after a few years. The new paint job is quite nice. Gone is the strange dented look. The paint starts as a glossy gray on the buttons and fades to an inky black past the buttons behind the scroll wheel. Tiny metallic specks sparkle throughout. They seem to be a mixture of reddish, and greenish under the fluorescent office lights, but shine bright silver when I shine my cell phone flash on them. Ive also poked around in the new Logitech G HUB software, but have found it to be fairly unintuitive. I had a difficult time, but was eventually able to save a couple different profiles directly to the mouse. This grants the ability to use your mouse profiles on any computer with or without the software. Long story short, If youre looking to recapture the glory days of CS 1.6 and HL2, dont hesitate to buy this revived piece of history! After a couple days of use, I think it should live up to expectations. If the buttons last as long as my original, Ill keep on using these till I die! Ill only need to keep a couple more stashed away!

Greater than one weekits pretty much identical feeling to a G400s. Coming from that it feels the same. Within an hour I had forgotten I had a new mouse and I was just using it. I wish the anti-sweat coating from the G400s was still there, but if youre coming from an MX518 or G400, those didnt have it either. The soft touch coating feels the same as the one on the G400s, which started to come off after over 6 years of use. So I think the new MX518 might have that happen, but thats at least 6 years off if not more, and thats a long time. In conclusion, its nearly identical to the G400s I used before, and it is absolutely a worthy successor to this long line of mice. BUY IT!

Greater than one weekI replaced my old (and original) MX518 mouse with this re-released version. In size grip and feel they are exactly identical, I couldnt recommend this mouse highly enough. However, compared to the original the cord they used this time is much thinner. I cant imagine this is for any reason other than lowering its lifespan so people cant go on using the same mouse for ten years. I wouldnt be surprised if other parts on this are inferior to the original.

> 3 daySo at a gaming convention in 2005 I received an MX518 as a prize for demoing a game. That mouse lasted me almost 15 years. In Dec 2019 I bought this mouse. After 6 months it started double-clicking on the left click occasionally. Logitechs RMA process is such a pain (they want like video evidence that shows todays date to RMA a cheap wired mouse with an apparently well-known double-clicking problem), that I just bought a new one assuming maybe that would be easier. Nope. I bought a new one in July 2020. That one was double-clicking a year later. So I buy ANOTHER new one in April 2022. It started double-clicking today. Im not buying another logitech mouse. Ive had other issues with quality and reliability with this brand and I think I just gotta try something else at this point. Super bummed because the MX518 has been my mouse for almost 20 years. Little odd the first one lasted me 15, and since then I cant find one thatll make it more than a year. Nice quality on your build there, Logitech! Also, your RMA process is atrocious.
