I love it. Loved it then, love it now. Does exactly what I need it to and fits in my small girl hand very well. Nothing fancy and feels a little plasticky but it’s fine. Cheap and I can replace it if I need to for not much money. But I used the original version back in the day and I can say that it’s still just as good. I use it to play games and the extra buttons are good for my heal spells.

And better than ever. I am not going to write a long review other than it is a great mouse. Sensor is accurate and doesnt do weird interpolation, smoothing or acceleration like some others do. Skates hold up well, clicks are a little loud though. If you are use to the MX518, G400 series, etc then this mouse will feel fine. Good for the palm grip people and weird finger/palm grip I have. Just be sure to use it on a good mouse pad. These sensor is VERY good. It will pick up things and cause your cursor to jump. If you have a good one, keep it clean. I recommend it be used on a hard mouse pad and not a cloth one. Glides smoother.

My biggest grievance with the mouse is that it became available AFTER I replaced my previous Logitech G4 mouse with a Logitech G403. Now the G403 I bought is a fine mouse, but I had been using that old G4 for like 7 years, and I had grown very accustomed to its shape. This new MX518 has a shape just like my old G4, and therefore I prefer it over my G403, which I now keep as a backup. I suppose the MX518 could be a little better with a braided cable like my G403, but thats really not enough of a detraction for me to not give this 5 stars.

This mouse has the same finely sculpted ergonomics as the old MX518, but with a much better sensor. The body is a bit lighter, which isnt particularly good if youre used to filling up all the weight cartridges on the tunable mice, which is a feature this mouse does not have. The shell is identical to the MX518, but with different materials and a different finish. The sides are nice textured plastic. The top is an extremely high-gloss surface that is very eye-catching, but this is where my one gripe comes in. Who the heck designed this finish? The glossy, lightly adherent finish attracts skin oils like nothing else. I have literally watched the clickers on this mouse gum up in minutes, right before my very eyes. The only way to avoid instantly fouling the top surface of this thing with skin oils would be to literally scrub your fingertips with a pumice stone every morning. Did they even test this thing, and if they did, were they wearing white cotton museum keeper gloves the entire time? Disappointing.

My original MX518 lasted 8+ years. This lasting 5 months is pathetic.

This is the best mouse for my 7.5 inched right hand which allows every part of it to fall correctly on all critical spots for maximum control on the mouse, for me, a 1-2-2 grip with the ring finger draped over the right-side lip. Excellent improvements: 100 grams which is much lighter, Hero sensor which is the best in my opinion, Clicks which are louder but very accurate/tactile, Smaller wire seems more durable. Cons: the wheel is quite bad, but you get used to it and it does its job just doesnt feel assured in hand. The wheel is the only skimping Logitech has done with this mouse. Its the same side buttons which I think could be improved over the original designs MX518, G400, G400s, but eh, it gets the job done, but just not ergo enough and could have been improved (position and feel). I dont see any better mouse for the Large to almost Extra-Large hand. Otherwise, the lip on the right will probably bother you (as others complain about it, while I see it as vital to what makes this mouse so perfect), as will the index and middle finger buttons (my fingers fall perfectly on them - no overshoot or undershoot, its perfect! positioning FOR ME).

In 2005, I bought a mouse for my first gaming computer. That mouse happened to be the Logitech MX510. I have used it since then, and its gone through everything with me. Its been around the world, to school with me, and the military. Finally, the cord started to fail after 15 faithful years. I could hear the constant disconnecting/connecting jingle during casual use or gaming. I knew they came out with the MX518 Legendary, and I finally decided it was time. The weight is a little lighter, the feel is the exact same (in a good way), but its a bitter sweet moment. The MX518 legendary is perfect, and If you decide to buy it, I hope you appreciate it as others have before you for its legacy. It doesnt have RGB or a million programmable buttons, but man does it ride smooth. This is a fully restored muscle car... not a Ferrari. If you can understand that, then youll fall in love with it.

I dont play games but I like using gaming hardware for CAD work. Extra buttons and lots of precision make a difference. My previous mouse was a Razer Deathadder and I like this much more, primarily for the feel in the hand. It is just the right size, the mouse feels perfect to carry between thumb and pinky and the other fingers fall naturally in their spots. The Razer I always struggled with it feeling too wide, I never feel like my fingers are in the right place. It feels clickier than the Razer also, which is a mixed bag for me but seems good for gaming. I like this mouse very much and Im excited to sit down and use it.

I wanted a replacement for the Logitech G5, not that there was anything wrong with it. But a 1600 DPI laser mouse on a 4K monitor doesn’t work. So, the 518 has the look, feel and ergonomics of the G5, and I am a fan all the way!

I was heartbroken when my my old MX 518 died a few years ago. It was the greatest gaming mouse I’ve ever owned. Logitech absolutely nailed the ergonomics on the 518. I never found an adequate replacement. I’m not a fan of Logitech’s newer mice. They have great sensors, but very poor ergonomics with sharp edges and poor button placement. Someone at Logitech finally came to their senses it seems. The revamped 518 gives you the best of both worlds: the ergonomics of a 518 body combined with modern internals. This feels as great in my hand as I remember. Actually I think the build quality on this might be slightly better than the original. The sensor is definitely way more precise. Overall it’s even better than the old 518. Kudos to Logitech for actually listening and giving the people what they were wanting.
