I’ve only tested this Meross smart plug and Wemo smart plug mini, but Meross by FAR takes the cake! I’ve never once had to reset or unplug and replug in a Meross smart plug. Wemo makes you go to the source when there’s no response and then you have to unplug and replug in the plug to the outlet. Only suggestion for Meross is to try and make the plug smaller like the Wemo minis, but I would rather this larger plug that always works than a small plug that I have issues with. I really love that Meross seems to be keeping their pricing affordable as well! Wemo plugs were much more expensive. It’s an obvious yes to Meross Smart Plugs!

Each of the 3 units was installed online within a few minutes of a single attempt. The units form factor probably can accommodate another extension socket or form factor can be rounded or shorter, but thats just personal preference. Other than that, the Meross Smart Plug Mini is very easy to setup, probably because it has more sensitive wifi capability than others.

I purchased these for my older apartment with limited light switches. Pros: They are fairly cheap, they are easy to setup and install, they instantly work with Apple Home Cons: They are almost always updating in Apple Home which causes me to have to wait before I can turn them on You might be thinking thats a lot more pros than cons, I can deal with that, sure go for it but its seriously annoying, luckily they have a button where you can turn on the light if it freezes in Apple Home but at that point why even buy them? They also have a separate app I could try to make connectivity more reliable but if I wanted to use a third party app (not Apple Home) than I probably would have done a different outlet plug. All in all these arent bad and I use them daily I just have to wait a decent amount for them to catch up with Apple Home, theyre just annoying sometimes and I wanted to let yall know.

I get skeptical of really highly reviewed products with a small but vocal amount of 1 star reviews... you know, manufactured ratings and the like. So I was skeptical here naturally, but I had zero issues. Using my phone I had all three switches connected and running in under 5 minutes. 2 weeks later, no disconnects and everything has been super reliable, despite having a large house and the switches spread around. Will be buying more.

Overall, I am pretty satisfied with these WiFi outlets - except for the one that doesnt seem to work. They are fairly simple to set up (Download the app, hold the on/off button for a few seconds, join the outlets WiFi network, and you are pretty much done. Then, you can easily add the outlet to Apple Home Kit (which Ive found to be very flakey) or Google Home (I dont have any Amazon home automation). And they just work - 2 out of 3 aint too bad.

Bought three originally to automate the Christmas trees. Now using for first floor lights. Recently bought another three for upstairs. What can I say they just work. Had to update my old router to a mesh system as I have 21 smart devices in my hone now.

Works Well, Easy Setup, Works seamlessly with HomeKit. The plastic chassis is a little bulky, but it should work OK with standard wall receptacles without impeding the other socket.

I have several of these and found them easy to setup and use. I use them mostly for lamps and my coffee maker. In the last month, only one switch didn’t respond to a group scene command - Siri let me know that and repeating the command did turn the lamp off. I am really pleased with these switches/outlets. Tip: I have dimmers for my lamps plugged into these switches. I had the dimmers and very seldom adjust the dimmer level, so this saved me from needing to purchase the more expensive dimmer outlets.

There are three requirements for a smart switch to make for a happy system - ease of installation, basic functionality and stability of wi-fi connection. Since all smart switches seem to come from the same factory, all provide the same functions. These switches were very simple to install using the Apple Homekit app (not the native meross app). Then the downside hit: the wif-fi connection is incredibly instable. The connection dropped constantly, and unlike other brands of switches in our home, they wouldnt/couldnt reconnect unless removed from the power source, then plugged in and cycled through power on/power off. Which means that they cannot provide remote control. Attempting to update firmware through the meross app resulted in failure multiple times. The proposed solution from meross customer service for this mess was changes to router settings. I dont know about you, but putting the connections to security system, thermostat, other smart switches, etc. at risk wasnt going to happen. And giving meross permission to log into our network to run updates (and heavens knows what else), as they requested, was a non-starter. These issues carry over to the meross oudoor switch, so avoid itas well. Im comparing this POS to the other switches in our environment - iDevice and wemo (gens. 2 and 3) - which are far from perfect but heck, I bought those years ago. Unfortunately this is a waste of money and resources and another addition to the junk drawer.

Update: Played around with my WiFi network for quite some time - not sure what I did, but my network is working better, and these plugs are now recognized! Still not terribly user-friendly: a second (outdoor) Meross plug was again unresponsive when I tried to set it up in HomeKit, but after a iPhone reboot (why?!) I got that to work too. Had to repeatedly reset the plugs to get them to work, though- Home (in iOS) said Id already set the plugs up, but they were not visible in the app until I reset and went through pairing again. So Ive bumped up my rating to three stars for now. If I find these reliable, I will probably add another star later. ------------- (Original review)----- I thought I’d try these specifically for their advertised HomeKit-compatibility. Spent an hour trying to set one up. Do you follow the (poorly translated and obtuse) instructions included in the package? Or do you follow the instructions in the Meross app? I went for the latter. Plugged in the plug, scanned the QR code, came up in iOS Home on my iPad. Tried linking. Nope, timed out. Tried again with my iPhone. Nope. Tried another plug from the package. Nope. Tried the outdoor Meross plug I had also ordered. Nope. I went through the troubleshooting tips (move your device closer to the plug - umm- closer than the six inches currently?) I have a dual-band, new T-Mobile router. Go into router management and fidget around with my router settings to turn off 5 GHz? I don’t think so. Nothing but aggravation. Maybe I’ll try again next week (when I’ve cooled down) with a different router, but just a waste of my time so far.
