Good stuff for the very affordable price. Works great with HomeKit. Scan the code with your iPhone, name the plug and you’re good to go. HomeKit takes cares of all the hazzle for you. Didn’t have to worry about wifi channels and all that stuff. And you can always quickly add the plugs to the Meross’ app later just to make sure firmwares are up to date: also super easy, the app recognizes the plugs automatically. Pretty impressed with how well it worked. Plugs are a bit bulky and I only wish they had the outlets on the side. But they look ok overall.

I have been using various versions of these plugs for about 3 years. Over that time, despite excellent wifi coverage, despite firmware updates, they continued to be plagued by connection issues. I had to manually power cycle them multiple times per week. It was extremely frustrating. Some of them would stay connected for months only to have daily connection issues for weeks after that. It was always a game of chance. The problem seemed to get worse the more of them I used. I finally switched to a z-wave + hub based smart plug at a much higher cost and have had 0 connection issues since. I give these a solid 2 stars, because if you have 1-2 in your home they work ok, and they are very cheap, but they are otherwise a nightmare.

I just got these plugs today and tried to set them up with home kit but had A LOT OF TROUBLE setting then up. I am an advanced tech user and know pretty much how to deal with gadgets, did everything right with these plugs but collectively they tool around 2 hours setup. Right now they are working fine with my iPhone home app but let’s wait and watch. If they start giving me issues, then they are going back to amazon.

I purchased these for my older apartment with limited light switches. Pros: They are fairly cheap, they are easy to setup and install, they instantly work with Apple Home Cons: They are almost always updating in Apple Home which causes me to have to wait before I can turn them on You might be thinking thats a lot more pros than cons, I can deal with that, sure go for it but its seriously annoying, luckily they have a button where you can turn on the light if it freezes in Apple Home but at that point why even buy them? They also have a separate app I could try to make connectivity more reliable but if I wanted to use a third party app (not Apple Home) than I probably would have done a different outlet plug. All in all these arent bad and I use them daily I just have to wait a decent amount for them to catch up with Apple Home, theyre just annoying sometimes and I wanted to let yall know.

    Greater than one week

Easy peasy lemon squeezy. I set it up for mood lighting for movies and parties. Turns on from my phone or Apple TV.

I started my home automation journey several years ago with the purchase of a number of Wemo light plugs and switches. This was a great initial start but as I transitioned to HomeKit I needed another solution. Wemo introduced their HomeKit bridge which served as a temporary solution until I could find a way to transition to native HomeKit in a cost effective manner. Recently I discovered the Meroos Smart Plug Mini, 16A plug, on Amazon and was impressed with their compact size and that the plugs provided HomeKit as well as Alexa, Echo, Google Assistant compatibility at a very affordable price. I did not hesitate ordering first a 2 pack and then a follow up 3 pack of the plugs to upgrade my HomeKit system. The Meroos plugs are a great value and work fully as advertised with respect to HomeKit. The plugs are ETL certified to the UL STD 60730-1 and 498 for use in a 120VAC/15A outlet. The 3 pack comes neatly packaged with the 3 plugs, Meroos and HomeKit guides. Reference photos of package contents and plug installed in wall outlet. HomeKit installation is straight forward. Plug the device into an outlet, wait for the device to initialize (LED on side will alternately blink between green and yellow), open the HomeKit app and select add device, and point your iPhone at the QR code on the top of the device. HomeKit completes the installation from there. Reference HomeKit installation screen grabs. Suggest initially accepting the default HomeKit device name until you decide which physical room you will be using the plug in and then rename within the HomeKit app. Siri uses both room and device reference. So, “Hey Sire, turn on Living Room Lamp” can be distinguished from “Hey Sire, turn on Bedroom Lamp”. Both will be named “Lamp” but are distinguished by their room. It is also recommended that you download the Meroos app as HomeKit currently does not have the capability to update the firmware on your devices. The Meroos app will manage the firmware update process as shown in the attached screen grabs. I can highly recommend the Meroos mini plug for those just starting with HomeKit as well as those that may be looking for an affordable upgrade.

I am living in an old apartment built in 1960s. The neutral wire was not installed with the switches. So I have to use smart plugins to fulfil our modern-smart live style. This product is pretty easy to set up: just plug in, several clicks on my iphone, and then, I can call siri to turn off the lights for me.

There are three requirements for a smart switch to make for a happy system - ease of installation, basic functionality and stability of wi-fi connection. Since all smart switches seem to come from the same factory, all provide the same functions. These switches were very simple to install using the Apple Homekit app (not the native meross app). Then the downside hit: the wif-fi connection is incredibly instable. The connection dropped constantly, and unlike other brands of switches in our home, they wouldnt/couldnt reconnect unless removed from the power source, then plugged in and cycled through power on/power off. Which means that they cannot provide remote control. Attempting to update firmware through the meross app resulted in failure multiple times. The proposed solution from meross customer service for this mess was changes to router settings. I dont know about you, but putting the connections to security system, thermostat, other smart switches, etc. at risk wasnt going to happen. And giving meross permission to log into our network to run updates (and heavens knows what else), as they requested, was a non-starter. These issues carry over to the meross oudoor switch, so avoid itas well. Im comparing this POS to the other switches in our environment - iDevice and wemo (gens. 2 and 3) - which are far from perfect but heck, I bought those years ago. Unfortunately this is a waste of money and resources and another addition to the junk drawer.

I own several different smart plug varieties from numerous different vendors. The first thing that I noticed upon taking the Meross Smart Plug Mini out of the box was its weight - it feels more solid and well-made than most of the competitors plugs. However, the size is just right - I have a couple of other smart plugs that block the second outlet when being used, or protrude significantly away from the outlet. The Meross Smart Plug Mini does neither, meaning the other outlet is still usable. Pairing with SmartThings was not quite as straight-forward as with the Z-Wave Plus (or even Zigbee) plugs that I have, but I find this to be the case with most Wifi versions. When I opened up the Meross app to pair and add the plugs on my iPhone, for whatever reason, it defaults to the Apple Home app to continue setting up the plug. I dont use Homekit, personally, because so few devices are Homekit certified - so this was a minor annoyance. I could not find a way to complete the setup in Meross without first doing so in the Home app... However, once the device was configured in the Home app, it did appear in the Meross app. I had previously linked my Meross account with SmartThings, so once I opened SmartThings, each of the three Meross Smart Plug Mini devices showed up in SmartThings, and can now be used in Routines/Automations, added to the proper Room, etc. Because I have SmartThings linked to Alexa, I choose not to link Meross directly to Alexa (otherwise Duplicate devices appear), but I have no doubt that this would work seamlessly as well. I would recommend, and certainly would not hesitate to purchase additional Smart Plug Minis from Meross in the future if I have a need for more.

I am using these with Meross app for schedules as well as home kit with scenes. They were easy to setup and have worked as expected so far.
