Super easy to set up. All my Christmas lights are on automatic timer now. And recently w/ the time change, i was able to log in quickly on a app on my phone and adjust the time needs of when i wanted to have more light. I occasionally change the time by a few minutes to have it feel less timer-ey since its so easy on the app to just tweak what time they go on. You can also set up a on at dusk / off at dawn feature. Has worked well in the wet weather we have and it feels safe plugged in.

This switch is awesome! Just a few, random connectivity issues so far, but... that doesnt really impact me for my purposes. BUT...I want to append to the review by J. Salmi in using Smart Life or Minoston app. After installing either app, I still could not get the bluetooth working for automatic adding. On my Galaxy S20 Android phone, I went into the settings for each app and found that Nearby Devices was not being allowed. NO IDEA why neither app didnt default this or ask me to do so. Once I manually allowed the permission of Nearby Devices, each app immediately identified and installed this Plug entry. (note that you can only use 1 of these apps as the other will have the entry removed). Thanks J. Salmi for your help in spite of all that frustration! :)

Needed a flat plug for my outside outlet in order to be able to close the cover. Had to return.

Like- easy to control with cellphone. It was hard to connect with the cellphone.

Got this for a set of patio lights and setup was fast & easy. Some reviews mentioned you MUST have a 2.5 Ghz Wifi band, and its even mentioned in the printed instructions however I connected without incident to my Comcast XFiniti through my Orbi Mesh Network which only gives 1 network option (5.0 Ghz). Also connected quickly to Amazon Alexa for added easy of control. The only drawback is that the angled plug/cord made it a little tricky to connect to my outdoor GFCI socket with a weather protector on it. But I removed it, snapped off a piece of removable plastic from the weather guard to allow the cord to drop down and close the cover, and PRESTO! I hope this helps others make an informed decision!

I am on my 4th timer. Two are located outdoors and work great. The next is for my indoor 75 gallon gas water heater. I have this smart plug controlling the power to the AO Smith water heater. It is like an on/off switch when I am away. I turn it on before we get home from traveling and we have hot water. The 4th replaced a mechanical time on a large outdoor low voltage power unit. The programs are easy as well. Every plug can have its own set by hour and day.

Here is how to set it. DONT READ THE INSTRUCTIONS. If you do you will agree with the rest of this review. If you dont you will be fine. Gave them one more star after realizing that. The instructions ask you to select outdoor smart plug. There is no outdoor smart plug available to select. The app is dumb enough not to know what is the name of your wifi. All others, that is, Every other app knows but not Minoston. So as you can imagine it is impossible to set up unless you are willing to try every possible type of appliance in the very very long list. DONT BUY IT. It is a waist of your time

I installed this to control my outdoor fountain. I was tired of trying to dial in the old manual timer and guess whether I had the times approximately right. With this, it works perfectly. I can time the fountain to go off when the lights do and come on at a specific time in the morning. I can also use it as a remote control to turn off the fountain when the wind is high and it’s blowing all the water out of it. I read some reviews that indicated the WiFi reception is poor. That’s not been my experience. I connected it to WiFi inside the house before moving it to the outdoor receptacle. Pairing is simple by downloading the app, setting it in pairing mode by holding down the power button for 5 sec, then the app auto discovers the device. Enter your WiFi password and you’re set. I love this device. Really easy to use, the app is great (looks a lot like my SmartLife app) and entering timing programs is intuitive and fast. Two thumbs up!
