> 3 dayObviously easyto install. Just plug in. NOTE it has the plug at a 45 degree so depending on your application it’s either great or a hassle. I have mine outside to run a set of string lights and fairly far from a wifi spot so time will tell if it loses signal. Setting up Bluetooth app is a breeze but took a few headscratching moments to use with Alexa. Once I figured out I had to enable a new skill it was very easy. So far so good. Will advise later if it loses connection but liking the price and construction as of day one!

> 3 dayI control most of my fans and lighting using The “Smart Life App”…. Both indoor and outdoor. I use a duel band router. I took “Smart Plug” out of the box plugged it in, told Smart Life to add device. Smart Life found “Smart Plug” and connected to in less then 30 seconds… the Smart Life App also connected the Smart Plug to Alexa automatically. I am telling you this a less then 2 min project…

> 3 dayAfter looking through a ton of reviews looking for the quick and easy way to get this plug connected I was left in the dark. I tried emailing Minoston but that also failed as a they have a hidden captcha field that you cant access. I must have played with this thing for over an hour until I finally got it to connect. What I did in many different orders, Unplug the device (10seconds or so) plug it back in and hold down the button until it flashes bright white (fast). I also added the switch using the Socket (other). If this is your first time adding any kind of smart device you have to be on a 2.4 Ghz wifi signal. For the rest of you I had auto completed my Pw to make this step go faster. click next and then look back at your plug to make sure its still blinking bright. If not, start over. I must have done this step 20 times. I held down the button even after it was blinking bright as it seemed like it would blink longer if I held it. try to connect the plug again. I also, at some point, went into the settings on the smart home app and allowed Bluetooth to run behind the scenes. If you do this as soon as you push the plus (add) button at the top of the app (and the plug is blinking bright) the plug will actually show up for you and you dont need to choose socket (other). Again I did this at least 20+ times. On my last attempt where it did finally connect, I was holding the button down and it was pairing (previously timing out). when the plug stopped blinking I hit the button again to power it on, then again to power it off. I went to hold down the button again (to get it back into a blinking state) and the app said the plug paired successfully. I was starting to have doubts but it will in fact work with the smart home app. BTW I am on a Pixel 7 Pro After this was all typed up, I think I had a lose outlet. Plugged into a different outlet the smart plug seems less troublesome. Almost like there was a short in the smart plug. Turns out it was the plug I was using. Good Luck

> 3 dayI control this with the iPad app and have about a 50% rate of connecting on the first try. While this is frustrating, I can always walk outside and press the button to switch the circuit on/off. Since I got this to control a heat strip to eliminate ice dams on mu roof, going outside in the winter defeats the purpose of getting this (rather than just plugging/unplugging the heat strip). On a positive note, I have only had one time over this past winter where it did not connect after three tries (and I needed to go out in the cold...)

19-11-2024We had an old outdoor fountain that didnt have a power switch, you just had to plug it in and unplug it. With this, we can turn the fountain on using the switch on the device. Even better, my husband set it up with our lights that are also wifi compatible, and all we have to say is, Alexa, turn on the patio. and the lights and fountain are all on together. Love it.

22-11-2024Purchased for outdoor Christmas lights (deck) and so far has worked as advertised. App is easy to install and use. I purchased a second one a few weeks later for the front lights. The only hang up was that the plugin was inside a house light fixture straight up and the cord is at an angle so took a bit to get it plugged in.
