> 3 dayI bought this plug to use with some Home Assistant automations. The plug gave me some minor trouble when including to the network, but a couple retries got it connected correctly. But then the trouble really started. I wanted to use the plug to automatically turn on (and off) in response to certain events. As long as the plug was on, it would report to Home Assistant, and its poll/report rate was actually quite excellent. I could consistently turn the plug off remotely, BUT once I had remotely turned it off, the ENTIRE device would turn off, not just the smart plug power. As a result, the plug would stop reporting to Home Assistant, become unavailable, and from then on, be impossible to TURN ON remotely. The only way to get it to turn back on and begin reporting again, would be to go to the plug and physically turn it back on. This of course would have the side effect of turning on the connected appliance, which I didnt actually want, I just wanted the damn plug to start reporting again. A smart plug that you cant turn on, is not a smart plug. Do not recommend.

> 3 dayIf you have a IQPanel you will need to first ensure you have software version 2.71 or newer. Once you confirm/update software you can run the Zwave add device process and the MP31ZP plugs will work. You can also view power usage which is awesome!

> 3 dayI bought 2-pack of these smart plugs to add few floor-standing lamps to my Z-Wave system, also to be able to use as a repeater to extend Z-Wave range. Functionally it works, but Z-Wave range is pretty poor. At first I thought this is a problem with the specific location/signal attenuation in walls, but when I installed another brand (Eva Logik) smart plug in exactly the same location I got perfect signal strength, and the node became quite effective as a Z-Wave repeater. Unfortunately I already threw away the box/packing materials, otherwise I wouldve returned these smart plugs. Price is attractive, and if you dont need longer Z-Wave range these smart plugs can be used, but dont expect a lot from it.

> 3 dayI turned my power off today to replace a couple outlets, when I turned the power back on the dimmer was dead. Ive tried unplugging and plugging it back in, pressing the button, holding the button, changing outlets, etc. It does absolutely nothing now, so in the garbage it goes. Update: I figured it wouldnt hurt, so hit the dimmer against a solid surface a handful of times and tried it again. It worked. I dont know what that did, or what caused it to stop functioning, but its been working since then.

> 3 dayI purchase a lot of similar looking similar prices ones from a different company. However I bought another Minoston product that blew me away so though I would try one of these. These are among the cheapest of this type I have seen anywhere. There are not a lot of plug in dimmers out there any more on the market and these at this price are a steal. They usually dim up or down smoothly sometimes but very rarely flicker. I bought about 7 of these types to replace smart bulbs that continuously would lose programming and have to be added back it was driving me insane so had to find something that wouldn’t keep losing its programming. I highly recommend these and hope they will continue to work I have only had around a month now and so far so good.

> 3 dayWorld OK on my Z Wave controller albeit slower than other light modules. Should have sent these two back, but they worked so I kept em. Then just yesterday BOTH the indoor modules Model MP21ZD failed for no good reason. Both show as failed on my controller without means of recovery. They work locally with the button. Exchange if I can... Buy a different brand would be my recommendation to you. THREE STARS. The built-in repeater may also have failed as my other unit in the same room appears to depend on the network working. I tried to find out what options Amazon Support would provide... Answer: nothing, if not within 4 months as stated on their order page! Found out that the foreign manufacturer doesnt answer Amazon either for 24H. After filing a report on their web site, looking for refund from Amazon Support. I went ahead and removed the units and reinstalled them which should have reset the units as well. I suspect this will fail again.

> 3 dayI purchased this to monitor electrial usage to set up some scenes. I jumped back and forth from the different Minoston units. This one on the comparison page said it was energy monitoring. Pulled the trigger and bought the 2 pack. Installed them and found they do not do energy monitoring. The chart says that the MP31Z does monitoring, but now I dont trust the description. I think I will try another brand that will keep up with the descriptions of their products they sell. BTW, the reason for as high a rating as I gave it is the unit was easy to setup on my Home Assistant instance. So far, except for the energy monitoring, it is working fine.

> 3 dayI e-mail Minoston about the problem. Its a very poor receiver I need to keep it very close to the hub I have other devices that are z wave that dont need to be so close. Well it work well at 13 ft from my hub. That means its a bad repeater. Im going to keep it like it setting functions. Im going to look for another z wave outlet that has a stronger receiver and repeater function.
