I purchased this to monitor electrial usage to set up some scenes. I jumped back and forth from the different Minoston units. This one on the comparison page said it was energy monitoring. Pulled the trigger and bought the 2 pack. Installed them and found they do not do energy monitoring. The chart says that the MP31Z does monitoring, but now I dont trust the description. I think I will try another brand that will keep up with the descriptions of their products they sell. BTW, the reason for as high a rating as I gave it is the unit was easy to setup on my Home Assistant instance. So far, except for the energy monitoring, it is working fine.

World OK on my Z Wave controller albeit slower than other light modules. Should have sent these two back, but they worked so I kept em. Then just yesterday BOTH the indoor modules Model MP21ZD failed for no good reason. Both show as failed on my controller without means of recovery. They work locally with the button. Exchange if I can... Buy a different brand would be my recommendation to you. THREE STARS. The built-in repeater may also have failed as my other unit in the same room appears to depend on the network working. I tried to find out what options Amazon Support would provide... Answer: nothing, if not within 4 months as stated on their order page! Found out that the foreign manufacturer doesnt answer Amazon either for 24H. After filing a report on their web site, looking for refund from Amazon Support. I went ahead and removed the units and reinstalled them which should have reset the units as well. I suspect this will fail again.

I ordered two of these Z-Wave plugs with Energy monitors for my outdoor holiday lights. First, one of the units was effectively defective out of the box as it thought it was a dimmer. Minoston customer service was very responsive. The first replacement unit was dead on arrival. The second replacement unit did the trick, but took 3 to 4 hours of my time to get two functioning units. I placed these units outside, both being about 45’ from a SmartThings hub but having to transmit through a block wall. I have found these units to be unreliable and only turn on and off about 90% of the time. Another Z-Wave outdoor switch by Zooz has been 100% reliable at 60’ and through a block wall. I really wanted these Z-Wave plugs to work. I like their small size and energy monitoring, but I have found them unreliable.

Bought 10 of these for various items in my Smartthings system. Connected four so far but one keeps shutting off after a few minutes. Seemed like regularly after 2 minutes but now time is varying. Doesnt matter if turned on manually or via smartthings or whether or not anything is plugged in. I checked there are no automations set. Will contact company and see how they handle. Will connect others and do a review update after that. Other three working fine.

This little fellow works great. I was just picking a cheap Z-wave outlet to experiment with and am really pleased. I didnt realize that I could read the amount of power being used from the device. This is cool because I can plug it into something that draws power and use the current change to trigger other events... such as when I turn on a lamp, other lights turn on/off. I really like that you can turn off the status LED - perfect for theaters and bedrooms. Its very responsive.

I got these in a 2-pack since they are one of the smaller Z-Wave Plus dimmer plug on the market. The first plug I installed using the SmartThings app in scan mode, and was able to use the QR code to add it with S2 security, however the device was listed as a Siren and had none of the dimmer functions in SmartThings. The AMZ product page makes a reference to having to use a special device handler, but there is no link to it and a web search only finds a sketchy reference to a site that requires a credit card to download. I was able to fix the device by going to the SmartThings Groovy IDE and editing the device (changing the type from SmartAlert Siren to Dimmer Switch. When I added the second plug to my system, it showed up as a Z Wave generic switch and again I had to edit it to be a dimmer. Now both plugs are working properly (on/off/dim).

Needs better instructions especially if you want to pair this model with the manufacturers app. But once you get it working its pretty solid and a good value.

I got the mini plug. This is a nice z-wave switch. It is very small so it doesnt block both outlets when plugged in. It easily connected itself to my Smartthings hub. And, it is also configurable (for example, when power is cut, you can program it to be off, on, or last state when the power returns). I also like the led in the switch (which is also configurable). The one flaw is the button on the switch. Depending on where you press it, it doesnt have a positive click. I got 3 of these and 2 of them have the issue. It doesnt affect the function but it can leave you wondering if you pushed the button.
