> 3 dayIf you expect a 90$ k ofe to have a fully sharpened blade and a nice point at the end...stay away from this. It is hefty it is solid but i had to spend 1.5 hrs re profiling the blade as it came with a rounded tip. I had to make sure the knife wasnt a safety knife thats how rounded off it way. Mora quality is slacking

> 3 dayI was thinking about this knife system for a while. The complete package is quite impressive. I have heard so many great stories about Morakniv knives I had to have this one. I got the carbon blade and love the whole package. This I have to say is one tough little knife!! I could tell the pristine blade was oiled prior to shipping with is ok by me. I plan on keeping this artwork in top working condition... also the diamond sharpener on the side of the sheath is absolutely a marketing genius move. Kudos to your marketing dept. In closing the ferro rod to add to this package was genius. A complete package that could make a big difference in the wilderness. I have climber 61 4000 or higher peaks and an active volcano in the carribean and wish I had gear like this on those trips. I would highly recommend this product wholeheartedly.

> 3 dayYou cannot go wrong with this knife. Value exceeds price. Feels good in hand and has held its edge so far. Lots of good reviews. Its one of my go to camp tools.

> 3 dayThis is the second morakniv I purchased, first one was at the recommendation of a friend. I assumed it was so dull because it was cheap, turns out even the 90$ knife isnt sharp enough to use. A 2 year old buck knife I use daily and have never sharpened is much much sharper than this knife. I am sure I could put an edge on a butterknife in 5 minutes that would be sharper than this. Ozark trail, Walmart brand anyone using knives will know what I mean. I will end up putting an edge on this knife, and edit if it takes well or stays sharp. Otherwise, the advertisement of razor sharp is a lie.

> 3 dayI have owned several Moras before and have been very satisfied with them. Naturally, I was excited to receive this beautiful knife; but was a little disappointed when I noticed the edges did not line up with each other. I have never noticed this particular drastic flaw in the previous Moras. I will see how the edge performs under use but it may have to be returned.

> 3 dayIf you hold this knife up next to your ear, it whispers to you “let’s go camping.” It easily batons wood, shoots sparks off a ferro rod, and does everything else you would expect of a knife. I opted for the leather sheath, which I am very happy with. I was a bit apprehensive when I ordered, but to me it looks better in person.

> 3 dayI had already owned three knives made by Mora. The Companion Heavy Duty (carbon steel), the Forest Bushcraft (stainless steel), and the Craftline 511(stainless steel). This isnt going to be a comparison of the Garberg to those knives because they really dont compare for several reasons with the obvious one being that these are not full tang like the Garberg. I simply wanted to point out that I already felt like Morakniv had quality knives at a lower price point. I really wanted this knife when it first came out but honestly, I couldnt afford it. Also, I didnt really need it since I had cheaper Moras that would already perform adequately enough in the Companion and the Forest Bushcraft. Since I never had a really high quality fixed blade knife before, I simply wanted it. I would wait 3 years before making the purchase. Now that I have it, all I can say is WOW!. Out of the box, the first thing I noticed was the weight. It just feels solid and balanced and very comfortable in my hand. The handle allows for a sure grip so I wont worry about dropping it while handling it. When I removed it from the sheath, I immediately noted the blade thickness along the smooth spine. Smooth enough to spark a Ferro rod. The steep factory Scandi grind with its razor sharp edge stood out on the black, moisture resistant coating on the blade. Inspecting the frictionless handle, you see the end of the full steel tang protruding from the butt. Just before the butt, a hole is provided. Perfect for a paracord strap, perhaps with a ferro rod at the end. There are several sheath options offered by Mora with the Garberg depending on your needs and wants. I elected to go with the simple Poly Sheath but also bought a 3rd party custom leather sheath as well. Im not going to get into splitting hairs over whether this knife will actually split hairs. I will just say it gets plenty sharp for what I might want to do at camp or on the hiking trail. Id also be glad to have it if I found myself in a survival situation out in the wilderness. Its perfect for batoning and feathersticking. The spine is made for sparking those feathersticks with a ferro rod. I realize Ive previously only owned fixed blade knives in the more economical price range of modest quality, so, aside from my Henckel kitchen knives, I dont have first hand user experience to compare. Still, I am ecstatic about owning this knife. It really is the one Ive always wanted. For now at least.
