I bought this for a survival course and it seemed like a really solid knife. The only negative thing is it seems to rust extremely easily. Even a small amount of moisture from a three day course in the woods was enough to make it start rusting. Im sure itll be fine, but if I bought another one I would try the stainless steel version.

There may be better knives out there, but I’ve never used them. It’s the perfect size for anything I do with it. Processing wood for a campfire, using with a ferro rod, field-dressing and skinning. It’s not “tacticool”, but neither am I. This knife just does the job. The finish is durable…just rinse after use, dry it off, and a spot of oil. Rust is not an issue. Holds its edge, and keeps going.

Sturdy and reliable. Won’t let you down in the woods.

Took this out of the package as soon as it arrived and was shocked/dumbfounded by how blunt it was! It’s about as sharp as a butter knife! I saw a lot of reviews on this knife showcasing how beautifully sharp it was right out of the box so this was one of the reason I got it (the other being that it was full tang and usable with a ferro rod) so I was literally speechless when it wouldn’t even cut through paper. Having just moved out on my own I don’t own a single knife (not even a kitchen one), so I figured I’d get this one which can be used out in the field but also in the kitchen if I needed it. After spending £100 on a knife I didn’t expect to have for fork out more money to buy a knife sharpener and learn how to do it myself, risking ruining the blade.. or having to find and pay someone else to do it. Just so confused as to why a brand new knife with black coating would arrive so blunt, because by sharpening it you end up removing the black coating immediately! Seriously disappointed and frustrated but looking forward to finally being able to use it some day.

They make great knives. I wish these had an edge because now its up to the people I gave them to, to shapen... I know, small peeve... I did buy one for myself, and I love it.

It is durable, holds a good edge, and can handle the majority of tasks when camping or bushcrafting. The sheath could be better.

Awesome knife, sharp otb , didn’t know if I’d like the sheath..but it’s a great design..definitely help with the 1095 rust issue

I started bushcraft as most did with a morakniv companion (still highly recommend those for that price range and budget) and I fell in LOVE with morakniv. I wanted to try this one out as Ive heard this is one of the best knives you can put in your hands and I believe it. Balance is perfect, size is everything I could need (batoning isnt an issue cause anything over the 4 odd inches wide is axe worthy for me), and the construction are perfect. In terms of quality and feel it puts some of my past knives to shame.

It didnt come sharp. I had to hit it with a stone and then a strop. The handle isnt that comfortable. For that I am taking away one star. Aside from those 2 issue I am happy with the Garberg. Solid choice for a camp, hiking or bushcraft activities.
