Morakniv Garberg Full Tang Fixed Blade Knife with Carbon Steel Blade

First impressions, opened the package a few hours ago and havent cut any trees down yet. This knife feels very solid, the full tang is exposed with a 90 degree edge, just like the spine, to spark those ferro rods . The plastic handle fits my hand well, very solid but wish it was a bit more grippy like the Mora Companion. Out of the box the blade edge was not sharp, but after awhile with the wet stone it now slices paper like a razor. Im a newbie with the Scandi edge but am liking it, after a few yooootooob videos on how to sharpen the Scandinavian edge it is easy to get very sharp. The knife snaps securely into the plastic survival sheath, no way it will fall out by accident. The belt loop looks like fake leather but feels okay. The ferro rod snaps in very securely, it wont fall out, I have to rotate it and pull to get it out, it makes sparks. The diamond sharpener is built into the sheath, havent used it. Overall an absolutely excellent knife, well worth the $76, you should never feel guilty spending money on good knives or books. Edit: After trying and exploring things I like the diamond sharpener for sharpening the spine, this can make it very sharp for making sparks with the supplied ferro rod, or even better, your ferro rod of choice.. To sharpen and hone the blade I will use my wet stone.

I have beat this knife, hard, for the last year. Went on two survival expeditions and have yet to be disappointed. Easy to sharpen. Hold edge well.

This knife came shaving sharp. It’s a thick blade. You can tell this thing will work very well with just about any tasks. I ordered it with the leather sheath. To me the sheath feels super cheap. Should have gotten the normal plastic sheath. But I am going to have a custom leather sheath made for it. For under $100 this knife is just as good as any $300 knife

Excellent quality for the money! Highly rated for Bushcraft, camping or any other outdoor activity in which a sharp, full-tang sheath knife would be needed. It’s a great knife.

As a hunter and outdoorsmen, Not to mention I was a Brazilian smoke house meat cutter for 4 years, where I had to sharpen my knife every day… I’ve learned a thing or two about blades. I’ve got to say, this is my first and probably my only mora. I can use this knife for many functions. It feels nice in the hand ergonomically and has a nice weight to it, not too much but enough to cut paper by its weight alone. I will wear this knife proudly in the field.

If you hold this knife up next to your ear, it whispers to you “let’s go camping.” It easily batons wood, shoots sparks off a ferro rod, and does everything else you would expect of a knife. I opted for the leather sheath, which I am very happy with. I was a bit apprehensive when I ordered, but to me it looks better in person.
