16-04-2025I had difficulty with the initial firmware to set it for my 5 Pro with a BL Touch. The firmware from the website wasnt correct but the supplier delivered the correct firmware. Once I had the right firmware it was a simple matter of putting on an SD and booting from it. UPDATE. This board lasted for just over 16 months, I was able to start using it on 11/11/2020 and it stopped moving the Z stepper during auto home as well as stopped sending any power at all to the extruder stepper on 4/7/2022. Ill be looking for a more reliable printer.

> 3 dayThis board makes your stepper motors nearly inaudible! They also dont get as hot! I installed this on my Ender 5 and it was super easy. It is so silent I can sleep while its printing! However, the extruder fan is very noticeable now that the motors are quiet. I will probably end up putting even more money into this printer now to make the fan quieter haha. I purchased this for my Ender 5. The board comes configured for the Ender 3 pro, so I needed to flash a new firmware to it. I tried flashing the .hex file that creality provides, using Ultimaker Cura, but there arent settings in Cura to tell it which COM port to use to connect to the printer and it said connection failed every different time I tried (I tried a lot of times and got very frustrated). To make things worse, I could not find drivers that Windows would actually install to make the USB connection show up as a COM port. I finally just tried a USB port in the back of the computer and then the printer showed up as COM port. I still couldnt get Cura to upload the .hex firmware to the board, so I followed YouTuber TeachingTechs instructions on how to install Marlin 1.1.9 with his configuration files. That finally worked, and the Marlin 1.1.9 has a lot of good features, so its probably better than the Marlin 1.1.6 that Crealitys .hex file is based on anyway. Take note: The second fan on the extruder is linked to the fan that cools the board. It might be better to plug that fan directly to the power supplys output so that your board is always getting airflow! If you use that fan but youre doing large prints, the boards cooling fan will be off for the whole first and second layers. That wont be great for the board long term.

> 3 dayThis is so much of an upgrade, it should be standard equipment with the Ender 3 Pro. My stock board was the 1.1.4 from when I got the printer in December. I tried stepper dampener boards, they helped a little but still loud. I have since removed them and am just using this board by itself now. When it says Silent it means it, steppers really are silent now. Between this board and doing quiet fan mods, I forget it is printing when Im in my office 5 feet away from it. Once in a while I hear a little soft whirr when it travels fast across the print area that I think is more from the belt cogs than the motors. Still running the stock 1.1.8 firmware version it came with and so far so good. TLDR: If you dont like stepper noise, buy this and forget about all the other fixes since you wont need them.

> 3 dayIt made the Printer silent, almost... now the motors are SO SILENT that it seems that my printer is gonna take off every print because of the FAN noise. But thats another story. The board does what it says. Also now you can update the firmware only by inserting a micro SD card with only the firmware file and nothing else, super easy

> 3 dayIf you want to make your Ender (3 Pro out of the box, and 3 or 5 with a re-flash of firmware) SILENT (other than the fans, of course) - buy this updated board. Installation is very straight forward - just unplug a cable from your present board, and plug into the exact same spot on this replacement board. The only annoying part I ran into was the amount of hot glue that was used on the stock board to keep the connections in place -- took a little bit of work to get all the cables unplugged because of it.

> 3 dayFairly new in the 3D printing world and so far I love my Ender 3 Pro. I was on the fence between buying the SKR Mini V3 or the 4.2.7 board. I chose the 4.2.7 route because of the hoops you have to go through with the SKR to get it set up properly. The 4.2.7 install was a breeze. It took 20 minutes to swap out the board. TAKE PICTURES FIRST!!! The firmware on my board was actually the correct version even though I had already downloaded it from the Creality website. I also bought a CR Touch when I purchased the printer but could never get it work on 4.2.2 board no matter what I did. I spent countless hours of wasted time so I just left it disconnected from the mainboard. I decided to try it again and actually got it to work with the 4.2.7 board, however, I could not get the Z Offset settings to save on the SD Card. Every time I powered off and on, the stored settings would clear. SO...I left it powered off for a couple of days and tried one last time and magically it now saves properly. At least I hope it lasts. I read this could happen during my 4.2.7 research but I cant be sure it was the board or not. Long story short...it was a great purchase. I can actually leave it on overnight and not hear the constant singing of the steppers. I would definitely recommend the 4.2.7 board over the SKR Mini V3.

> 3 dayJust installed the new silent board, which was simple. Since moving the unit, I re-leveled the bed, then ran a simple g code through it. I am extremely surprised and excited on how quiet the printer is now. You cant even hear the stepper motors anymore. If you are on the fence about buy this for your Ender 3 Pro, do yourself a favor and just do it. Before you remove anything from the board, take pictures of all the wires and where they plug in, just in case. Also, make sure the pins dont pop out of the connector when plugging back in. My Z axis wouldnt work at first, opened it back up to find 1 wire on the connector popped out (no fault of the board).

> 3 dayExcelente mejora, muy facil de instalar, para no hacerse lio se desconecta y re conecta de a uno por vez aunque estan bien identificados, al poner la impresora en funcionamiento se redujo el ruido de los motores un 80%, estoy sorprendido por el cambio.

> 3 dayThe board do the job well, the printer is quiet only the fans noise, all good. I dont give 5 stars just because I emailed support asking for the right firmware for my machine (like is suggested to do) provided my order number and pictures and they answered they cant find my order with the order number, closing the answer very quick suggesting contact the manufacture in china and no willing to work around with me. Answered my email after 3 days, no solution and no willing to work around for help me. Bad customer service is when a customer feels their expectations were not met.
