> 3 dayThe motors were quiet but I never got a good complete print with it, kept giving a generic thermal error even with updated firmware, replaced it with a big tree tech skr mini e3 v3 and have no issues now

> 3 dayWorks wonderfully! Silent as can be.

> 3 dayThis is a great upgrade. I dont have a db meter but after installing the steppers are almost completely silent on my Ender 5, what a huge difference. I followed the YouTube video from Teaching Tech for the motherboard and Marlin upgrade and he walked me through flashing the motherboard with an Arduino Uno which I had on hand already. Pretty straight forward and didnt run into any issues.

Greater than one weekMuch quieter than the original Ender 3 board. I did need to flash the firmware so there was soom effort involved, but that kinda goes with the territory... fun evening project :)

> 3 dayIt made the Printer silent, almost... now the motors are SO SILENT that it seems that my printer is gonna take off every print because of the FAN noise. But thats another story. The board does what it says. Also now you can update the firmware only by inserting a micro SD card with only the firmware file and nothing else, super easy

Greater than one weekAfter upgrading, the only noise you hear really are the cooling fans. I tried to upgrade the firmware with TH3D but could never get it to take, so I just used the included firmware and it has worked fine. The hardest part about upgrading is pulling off the copious amount of hot glue put on the old connectors. I like to get needle nose pliers and gently pull it off in chunks.

> 3 dayReplaced my old Ender 3 Pro motherboard with this one and I’m amazed. I read the reviews of “it’s so quiet now” and the raving about it, but didn’t believe it because it seemed too good to be true. It is true! I don’t even hear the motors anymore, just the fans. There’s only 1 negative with this, you can’t tell when the print is done because it sounds the same when it’s printing, or sitting with a finished print

14-04-2025Fairly new in the 3D printing world and so far I love my Ender 3 Pro. I was on the fence between buying the SKR Mini V3 or the 4.2.7 board. I chose the 4.2.7 route because of the hoops you have to go through with the SKR to get it set up properly. The 4.2.7 install was a breeze. It took 20 minutes to swap out the board. TAKE PICTURES FIRST!!! The firmware on my board was actually the correct version even though I had already downloaded it from the Creality website. I also bought a CR Touch when I purchased the printer but could never get it work on 4.2.2 board no matter what I did. I spent countless hours of wasted time so I just left it disconnected from the mainboard. I decided to try it again and actually got it to work with the 4.2.7 board, however, I could not get the Z Offset settings to save on the SD Card. Every time I powered off and on, the stored settings would clear. SO...I left it powered off for a couple of days and tried one last time and magically it now saves properly. At least I hope it lasts. I read this could happen during my 4.2.7 research but I cant be sure it was the board or not. Long story short...it was a great purchase. I can actually leave it on overnight and not hear the constant singing of the steppers. I would definitely recommend the 4.2.7 board over the SKR Mini V3.

> 3 dayThe firmware in the board is 2 years out of date and the thermal run away protection value is set to tight so you get errors before the print can even start. I’m giving it 1 star because you’ll have to compile your own firmware from the current marlin build. Which not everyone knows how to or is comfortable doing, also the fuse was already popped and I got to breath in some nice toxic smoke before I realized what happened and had to replace it with my own. For the average/ casual user this is a bad upgrade and should be avoided
