I love the colors of this is display. Refresh rate is great. Cons: cant have free sync or nvidias adaptive sync and HDR enabled at the same time or it washes out colors really bad. Also free sync on this monitor doesnt keep the refresh at 165hz. It will turn the screen black and lower refresh while playing games gets pretty annoying. Edit: after reading through some others reviews I discovered that there is a way to get free sync and HDR working together without the screen blanking out. You have to download the program CRU custom resolution utility and change rhe free sync range from 48-165 to 50-165 and the monitor functions will work as expected.

Ive owned many monitors over my 15 year PC gaming hobby. This is my 3rd 2k IPS monitor and a far as the panel goes, its visually as good as any other Ive had. Wont beat an OLED display, but its smooth and silky with 144/165 refresh rate, good picture quality, no dead pixels and mood range OSD options. IPS is clear and vastly superior to the off brand VA panel I just returned (was really bad in dark areas). Overall, a solid display for a great value, you shouldnt be disappointed. My 2nd Pixio too, and never an issue.

I had a asus 1080p 144hz TN monitor from 2019? For everything Pixio offers with this, the monitor has been great for my first 1440p 165hz Freesync/Gsync monitor. My asus “gaming monitor” was almost the same price new from retail and is still being sold.

Update 10/11/22: Ive now had the monitor for five months and its still just okay. Its starting to show signs of problems. Over the months it has developed multiple stuck, red, pixels in various places of the display. Initially running an app designed to reset stuck pixels fixed the problems, but now that no longer works and theyre constantly on all the time. Its quite disappointing, if Im honest. Added a photograph using the recently launched Overwatch 2 to clarify my original reviews comments about the HDR capabilities of each system. As you can see in the image, the Xbox Series X version of OW2 says HDR is not available on this display while the PS5 version clearly shows that HDR is available. Pixios marketing claims the monitor supports Xbox Series HDR at 1080p but that is untrue. No Xbox Series title will recognize this as an HDR compliant display. --- Original Review: Living in a smaller space, I needed something to upgrade my console gaming experience but most decent TVs are 40 and above these days. After looking up the specifications on Pixios website, I settled on the P273 Prime as it hit all the bullet points I cared about. I dont really care about 4K but HDR, 120Hz, low flicker and AMD Freesync support were must haves. Overall, it HAS been a major step up from my old 32 TV from 2015 but not without a host of frustrations. First, the brightness is poor and needs to be on 100% all the time whether youre in a bright room or a dark room. Anything lower than that and the entire display looks dull no matter what other options you set. Although their specifications sheet claims it supports HDR on Xbox Series X | S, in reality neither console detects it as HDR capable and, therefore, doesnt allow you to calibrate the display for HDR. This, apparently, is because the Xbox Series consoles wont recognize HDR on anything lower than 4K displays even if the displays are capable of them. So with the HDR setting turned on On, the display is essentially emulating HDR10 on the Xbox Series games. The Xbox Series has no problems detecting the display as 120Hz capable and defaults to that mode automatically. It also detects the AMD Freesync capabilities but the setting to use it needs to be manually turned to on in the Xbox settings. On the PlayStation 5, HDR works flawlessly on games that support it. The PS5 settings menu allows for HDR calibration. 120Hz mode is also game-dependent but on the games which offer 120Hz modes, the display works perfectly when those modes are enabled. However, the PS5 will not recognize the display as being AMD Freesync VRR compatible, but this is likely due to Sonys recent implementation of VRR and not being fully compliant with all Freesync devices. And then theres the audio quality. Its so bad it makes me wonder why they even included a headphone jack in the first place. There is no bass, the highs clip to the point where they just cut out entirely, and the mids sound like listening to music in tin cans. The issue is so significant that I contacted Pixio support because I was wondering if I had a defective unit. The response I received in return was disheartening. Heres the direct quote from the support e-mail reply: Unfortunately, the audio is as intended. The audio jack is meant for convenience and not sound quality. You will often find that most, if not all, monitors will be the same in audio quality. This feels like a poor excuse to me when cheaper TV units have significantly better digital audio converters in them. I ordered a USB-A to 3.5mm converter that has a better DAC in it, and that cost $5.99. I find it incredulous to believe they spend all the money on display hardware but cheap out on a DAC that makes the audio nearly useless. If youre on PC, this wont be an issue because youre going to be using your PCs on-board or third party audio solution. But if, like me, youre using this as a console display, the only option is to use headphones through the respective controllers or buying a separate bluetooth audio device. This is an inconvenience, how much of one depends on what you already have at hand or if you dont mind faster battery drain from your controllers doing all the audio work for you. All in all I like the display but I rather wish I had spent a bit more on something better. Im still debating returning it and buying something different. But the visuals have been such a step up from my old TV, I dont really want to go back.

Does everything that the review said. HDR works, 1440p, 165hz. Love the picture quality. Was on the fence between this and a 4k... but i want to run everything on Ultra settings and I only have a 3070. So far the card does ultra at 1440p perfectly @165hz. I have 4k tvs for movies - im not as concerned on a 27 inch monitor. I had an LG ips and this is FAR brighter and smoother. stand does not adjust up and down, and the settings are controlled by a little joystick on the back of the screen - which took some getting used to.

Ive had the monitor since December 2020 and hadnt had any issues until recently. The monitor started powering off then on then off again and i was very concerned so i set the monitor to 60hz through windows and it stopped it. I was doing some thermal testing with my fingers. I bought some little heatsinks and slapped them on the back and it has been working just fine since. for wear and tear i suggest putting some heatsinks on the back of the monitor near the middle hdmi port. Hope this review is useful for anyone that reads it

Pros: colors were great, 165hz was very nice, only $330 which is pretty great for 1440p 165hz, on screen display was easily controllable with a mini joystick on the back, easy to set up gsync on it, nearly 0 back light bleed. Cons: the stand was very large for my small desk, seemed to have some sort of motion blur effect on some games, and sadly my monitor came with a few dead pixels so I ended up returning it. Overall good monitor for the price if it didn’t have any dead pixels.

UPDATE 3 months later: Ive developed a white spot on the monitor, presumably where a backlight LED isnt diffusing properly for whatever reason. This is more noticeable on a pure white background, once you see it you wont be able to un-see it. If it becomes too distracting Ill have to go and ask Pixio if this is covered by their warranty. Additionally, activating FreeSync shifts the entire screen upwards, chopping off the top 5ish pixels of the screen. Bit disappointing, but otherwise this is still a good monitor with great value. -- I was skeptical, but this monitor is fantastic, especially for the price. Just a few years ago a 144Hz IPS wouldve easily cost more than double the price of this one. I have no issues with backlight glow, dead pixels, or ghosting. Colours are to my satisfaction out of the box with minimal tweaking. I will say that this monitor is *very* light, to the point that I almost tip it over every time I push the power button to turn it on, and the included stand is quite short -- a 3rd party stand or VESA arm is pretty much a necessity.

First, I will say their customer service wasn’t that bad the first time around so they communicate from my experience and secondly, picture and quality of this monitor isn’t bad at all. It shows really clear and clean pictures and I didn’t really feel any tearing or delay.. until. I had to get a new adopter cord from pixio for this monitor just after 3 months of having it because it would randomly shut off or just turn black; and now i have to talk to them about having a lot of fps (frames per second) drop off on the monitor in general. It’s starting to lag really bad, move slow, and all around become buggy. This only happened the past week and at this point I want a refund to purchase from another company. This monitor isn’t bad but somethings just need to be fixed then they should resell them after updating them. I made this purchase in March 2022 and it is now September 2022, only 5 months and I am having a few issues.
